Wow, the Bulldogs really have it worked out. They give up a mid pick for Callan, and are letting a MUCH better player in Jordan Mcmahon go for similar price! In- Callan Out- McMahon. Glad I am not a doggies supporter.

Essendon would ask too much for him, and we have plenty of players in the "trying to break out KKP" basket as it is.

LETS LOAD UP ON TOP PICKS AND GET THIS DYNASTY UNDER WAY!
Adzman replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
essendon have the cap room for the first time in a decade. Brad green is a proven player, none of these kids outisde the top 4 are proven players, so pick 6 would be a risk. But given where the dees are at this point in time, we can afford to take risks and build around our new young core such as bate, jones, sylvia, brock, bell, pettard.......so on. If it is on the table, sounds like an even deal. -
Cousins and Judd leaving at the same time? Try telling that one to your members! It is no secret that he is at a crossroad in his career. But is one path really going to be the demons? And if so, how will he impact on our younger players? The old Ben Cousins (pre substance days) would be a great pick up. But someone elses problem isn't the best idea, a bit like picking up junk at a garage sale, sure it is a bargain, but you still have to fix it!

I wish we had taken this approach under Danniher. Some of the drafts before this season were jam packed with talent. A few more high picks would have been great. I think Bailey has made it clear that we will be building a team from this point onwards.

Unless CJ is asking for huge $$$, I would much rather keep him on the list than trade him to WC for some random.
-
Sherman?? I would be rapped if we could pull it off, however I don't think the Lions would take miller for him. CAC has already come out to the press and expressed and interest in draft picks and players under 23 years of age. Given how "shallow" this years draft is, i think the dees will find it easier chasing picks than players such as Sherman. Damon White will get more $$$ at the bulldogs, he won't be coming to Melbourne unless he really wants to play in red and blue. To my knowledge, he doesn't. Trapper is on the table, no secret that Bailey is shopping him. Would get 2 mid picks for him.

Jolly is not coming ot Melbourne. Jamar is not leaving MElbourne. As for trapper and Millzy, anything could happen. Once the Judd deal is done, the demons can start to play.

The porno thing is classic. I would be more concerned that he uses facebook!

Yze has been carrying injuries for the past few season, and this year they finally caught up with him. If Yze is fit and fighting, he will start turning heads once again. A player with his talents are not easily found. He will be dominant again for this footy club, and you won't want to miss a moment of it.

Not having Whelan KILLED us thie year. His run through defence and kicking to a target was missed. Ward was flashy but turned it over far too often. Rivers will add pace where Sgt. Biz was lacking. Sylvia HAS to come on in 08, and Mcleand needs an injury free year. We are not at the cats level, but a few smart moves in the offseason and a lucky run with injuries and we are still a top 4 side. 08 could be anything for the MFC!

See what is floating around the table when the rookie draft is on. IF he is on the table, and there is nothing better we may as well pick him up for a year and see what he can do. Can't be any worse than Hayes on the rookie list this year!

Am I mistaken, or is Trent Cotchin still out with a broken ankle? If so, he could be the real gem in this draft, similar to Selwood of the 06 draft. I notice he is still sitting out, so one would assume his ankle is still pretty bad. Outside morton, kreuzer for testing, there is not much to smile about.

Like the idea of Meeson and Murphy. However, Pick 11 is a bit rich for murphy. My Idea would be miller, trapper and pick 21 and 37 out. And in return Murphy, Meeson and pick 11.

Players we should be looking at for trade week
Adzman replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes on Adcock, Murphy and Dunn. Murphy and Dunn might not get the dollars they require due to the freo cap squeeze (paul hazelby is walking out for that same reason), so the lack of dollars could free up these solid freo players. On the other hand, you wouldn't be giving up too much for these guys, as freo are not the best team around, and these are not freos best players. -
Anyone think the crows would bite on a straight swap Fergo for Meeson? I doubt it, but worth pondering. Meeson is a demon, the way it is all unfolding is pretty clear. Fergo would be a great deal for us, and it would land fergo the playing time he requires.

Jamar set to sign for 2 years....what a joke!!!
Adzman replied to 9. David Neitz's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jamar only plays 50 minutes a game, so how the hell do we know what he is really capable of? I remember games where whity sat out with shin problems, and the Russian set the world on fire for an 8 week stretch. I am not saying the Russian is a great ruckman, however I rate him above some of the other goons trotting around on other lists. ANyone under the age of 26 should be given a run under baily to see what they can do. If Jamar can't do anything under baily, he will be traded in 12 months, or delisted at the end of his contract. I think Jamar will thrive under a new coach, we will wait and see. Just on Meeson, should be a bargain pickup for pick 38. Top 10 draft pick a few years back (pick 8 if my memory serves me correct), and at 21 years old his best is yet to come. -
roughead is not on the table. One thing we are all forgettting is that Dean Baily is in Charge now. He knows what he needs to get this team working, and he seems like the kinda bloke that will go after no frills, hard working players with medium to low price tags. Don't be suprised if he head hunts a complete noname form Port, who will end up being a very good player. NO FEV, NO ROUGH. Baily will play it cool.

Tanking did not land Judd. Richard Pratt and a truckload of $$$$ won Judd. Tanking will help facilitate the move, but at the end of the day it doesnt matter what draft pick you have, money talks!
-
paul Bower?? Would he even crack the WCE side? I doubt it. WHy is his name on the table, he has little to no worth on the trade table. If Kennedys name is in talks, he is GONE for sure. Picks 3, 20, Kennedy and another player will get the deal done, but It wont be Paul Bower, it will be a better player. Waite, Bentick maybe?

How Judd's career (at Carlton) will start
Adzman replied to Apocalypse XXXI's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you look REALLY closely, you can see the $ signs in his pupils. -
GOLD! Best bit of cut and paste since South Parks' Saddam!
-
Too many kids around the traps for him to influence. He is a great player with at least 2 good seasons left in him. The Saints or Maggies would take a stab at him.
