Congrats to Jeff and his partner. let us hope there are a few new boys in the white family tree down the track.

Love your work Dan. Newton or Dunn at CHF for me. Garland was selected IMO to be the new FF in 2-3 years time. Miller to the....BACKLINE (oh dear, i have gone and said it again!)
-
OUT- P. VARDY ( a godsend considering farmer walked out on us. he filled the spot well despite injury) IN- CRAIG "F$%^ing" TURLEY!!!!! We traded away a club champion in chopper lovell to get this "gun" player. He had to be one of the worst footballers to play in the red and blue!!!

1964. I wish we had more years like that! Maybe we need to get more members to break the curse!!!

There isn't any value in tanking in the afl. Sure, you end up with one of the top picks, but without a prority pick you only get one shot at the cream on the draft table. Most often than not, the best kids in the land are early picks. this isnt always the case. Gems can be taken 2nd and 3rd round. The value of an early pick in the draft is handy for trading, but is a ONE top pick now worth the sponsors and membership you lose to gain it? In the MFCs case- HELL NO! If we are sitting 3-14, i would be happy if the dees tanked the last few rounds. Until all mathematical hope is lost, we should be playing to win. The best player can be taken with pick 50ish in the draft, it has happened before (Hird). No point tanking, ONE early pick means sweetFA these days.

I agree with comments ,ade about sylvia. He should be tried at many possies to see where he can be used on a regualr basis. He is a handy forward, i just get the feeling he could be more damaging elsewhere. If he is 100% fit a run on the wing could be interesting. A move to HBF could also spark the team- is he is accountable enough though?

The rotten bastard deserved a spray! The MFC club should be fining the ump!

Cj and Newton must be thrown inot the mix THIS SEASON. Bizz, ward and holland are a number of handy depth players that wont be around next season. If we dont groom newton and CJ now, then we can expect to see some rather large cracks developing in our side in 08. Newton has to earn it, and his efforts should have got him within an inch of getting selected. As for CJ, he should be in the side now. He is up and dwon, but so was dan bell a few years back, and belly is coming good due to some games under his belt. The same tolerance must be shown with cj!

Love miller, but he has done very little to keep his spot. HE should be sent to sandy to get some form back. Would love newton to play, these young kids are the only reason I am turning up to watch us this year. I want to see what the short term future will bring for our club. PLAY NEWTON- whether he is ready or not. They did it with garland, why not roll the dice with newton and try again. P.J has his spot cemented down. Jamar did a hammy on the weekend.

If the dees keep losing, Frawley, Newton and Buckley will all play once the season is "mathematically" over. The side is a revolving door at the minute, I would be frustrated coaching a team with so many changes.

Nice to see that they ACTUALLTY reviewed byrons case instead of just assuming byron was up to no good. Maybe things have changed for him.

There is some great young talent floating arounf the afl. Nathan Jones is the cream of the afl's current crop of kids. A leader in the making. having Brock and Jones in the same side makes me happy in pants.

Blame the lack or rain. THe MCG is not exactly a party time jumping castle. There is no give on that ground. A softer muddy surface would have hurt him, but not to the extent he was hurt on the weekend. Picketts aim was to tackle, and he did a great job. IF he wanted to knock him out, he would have done so with a hip and shoulder to the head- this wasnt the case.

I am pumped about green and brock coming back, but i would LOVE to see newton have a run againstthe doggies. It wont happen, but he has kicked 11 goals in 2 weeks now. Thats 5.5 goals a game! Gotta give him a try! Pickett, petterd, bruce are all a chance to miss.

Chopper Caroll has been pretty good down back guys. He had a few hicups against the hawks, but has been pretty good most weeks. Considering he has stuff all games behind him, he is standing up as a senior player. If he continues to improve like he has, he will be a chance for B and F Hats off to the bell fans. He has been fantastic in defence this year. He would be in the mix, just needs to keep up his strong efforts.

Would Sewell have been the same player at melbourne? COMPUTER SAYS NO! I can recall 2 season where the hawks played kids and got SMASHED week in week out. Playing kids is not something that is done at the MFC. IF Sewell has been traded to the dees, he would have been used as depth and would have not developed to this point. Sewell played some ordinary games, but they stuck with him and are now reaping the benefits. IF Fergo had of been traded, he would be a starting player and would have developed more. Fergo could still be a great player....just not in the red and blue. This is not a case of "we should have made the tradE", it unearths a greater issue, one of not giving guys a few extra weeks to build form and have a fair chance. CJ is a great example of this.

Congrats! Another lad in red and blue is great news. I hope is all is well.

Sorry i missed it. I was at the eatery giving up a weeks wages for a few bottles of coke and some pies and chips! We need to make sure that this doesn't happen at the footy. Someone ought to step in if this ever happens again. It doesn't matter who a kid supports, a KID IS A KID. going to the footy is a special treat when you are a kid. Let them have thier fun, no matter who they support. .....pick fights with drunken supporters over the age of 18! (kidding- a night in jail is not the way to go!)

Davey's hit was LOW CONTACT and LOW IMPACT. The player who was hit hardly felt a thing. It will be sighted as charging due to his feet leaving the ground. He will be let off, there was nothing in it. 80 demerit points is what he will walk away with.

Take a bow..... SIMON GODFREY! Shut down a brownlow medalist contender!
-
Brown - Glimpses of old Carroll - Shut down tredrea Warnock - A learning curb Rivers - True MFC champion Bell - Good in patches Bruce - Injury clouded game Johnstone - Rounding into form? Petterd - Confidence, Class, Composure Moloney - Not at best McDonald - worked hard today Godfrey - SHUT DOWN BURGOYNE! Davey - Good in parts Pickett - 2007s biggest disaster Dunn - Still finding feet Miller - SHOCKING 4QTR EFFORT! Yze - Move down back?? Neitz - Sluggish yet useful Johnson - Clinched second ruck Bate - I TOLD YA! White - Much better game Jones - Shades of Judd Sylvia - Will get better The dees can take something away from this. Newton in for Miller and we should have a forward set up that will kick a score. It is worth a try!

We might see chip frawley in red and blue over the next 4 weeks. Cant wait!

Cj needs more of a go. In one week and out the next is not the way ot build form at an afl level. In all honestly, the following players may not be at the MFC next year: Fergo holland bizz ward brown CJ must be groomed to fill one of these back roles. Let him hang out to dry if he have to, he is a must play. If he fails after 3-4 weeks, then drop him. One game here and there is no way for him to build form. Great to see warnocks inclusion. He is another player tha needs afl gametime to be ready to fill a key role down back in 08.

If Jamar performs this week i would still force him to play another game to get his confidence up. Jamar has been a MAJOR bust for us this year. I would go as far as saying that if he cannot recapture some of the talent he has displayed on a regular basis, the dees will be looking to spend on a ruckman come seasons end. Pressure is on him. I hope he does well.

Neita has 1-3 seasons left in him. I would take a punt on this year and next, beyond that seems unlikely.
