  1. Call me stupid of you like, but my ultimate trade week would have seen us land Judd, not meeson.
  2. They have none of the things we are lookng for. Talent, skill or youth. There will be a better player at pick 3 in the PSD anyway.
  3. Trent for me with pick 4. That would be a FANTASTIC result. I have no doubt if the dees had had pick 2 in the draft ehy would take Trent with pick 2. WA boys worry me a little. Even SA boys tend to want to head home. If we can grab a GUN victorian, lets bloody well do it.
  4. He is finshed at AFL level. His Knees is shot. Personally I would love to see lance bounce back a tear Carlton to pieces in another Jumper. Best Wishes to him. I have a deep hatred for Carlton, anything that will leave them with egg on their face would make me happy. GO LANCE!
  5. Fergus Watts? Computer says no.
  6. Fergy- Nope, he is depth at best. Carroll- He is a good full back because he has a magic moe. He is better value as a 2nd defender. Frawley- Still raw, and not really ready ofr the job Rivers- Maybe a tad short for CHB (although he does it well) could be a handy FB on quicker forwards. PJ- Could take the Gorillas when Dutchy is busy being Dutchy. Buckets- When he is hot he is a solid backman, when he is cold he is our worst player. Dunn- Why not? He isn't being used up forward. Miller- APPARENTLY he is baileys love child, so he can play anywhere he wants to.
  7. Whelan STARTS, make no mistakes about it, he walks out on the field and stays there! 08 should be the year we see some purchase on beemer, Sylvia and the next step for Dunny. Jones, bate ,petterd will still move upwards quickly. Cj, is a wildcard, and bell just needs to do what he did last season to make me happy in pants! Frawley and Garland could go forward or take more time. You neve know, one of our picks could slot right in.
  8. Meesen would be tried in more possies than ruck alone. He is FIT, and he is FAST for his size. I can see him floating back or forward if our depth is tested, something we cannot really do with Jamar, and something that White can no longer do as well in his twilight years. PJ will be run in the ruck most often, along with Jamar. I can see white being rested forward more as his career winds down.
  9. This will make you feel better. We traded Chopper Lovell for Craig "cant do jack s##t" Turley. Nothing will EVER be as bad as that!!! EVER, PERIOD! Pick 14 is a good pick. Trapper is on the slide, one or two injuries away from falling of the fray. Remember, TURLEY, nothing can be as bad as TURLEY!
  10. I was under the impression he was under contract. If not, how would he slip to pick 3? Even with a stuffed knee the tiggies and Carltank would give him a go. What sort of price would be on his head? 200k per year? I would rather not pay him that, and save the forwardline spot for a developing newton/dunn/ garland type. Besides, we have 3 top 25 picks, one of them could be a forward.
  11. If we get Scott, we could have wellman and Scott as our "two hard nuts in the sack".
  12. We will see how wellman goes, we could have done worse.
  13. Milestones Pick 4- 1 game Pick 14- 1 game Pick 21- 1 game The future is here!
  14. A bet on Tj for the brownlow? I have a better idea. How about you invest your money in the Melbourne Football club. Instead of paying out on what is now a DONE DEAL, move on with your life and give to the club. If you really want to bet, how about you invest it in Shares, something that will have a chance at a return, instead of the absurd delusion that travis johnstone could actually win a brownlow. For all the trapper sooks, a Brisbane membership is just a phone call away. And while you are at it, why not buy a WAFL membership, isnt woey buried in there these days??
  15. Anyone want a tissue? There a Ballet tickets on sale if anyone SOFT is interested. Travis is finished, let it go.
  16. This move was a financial one, nothing else. Sure it will help the saints short term, but who really cares? If CAC though they would help the club, he would have thrown his hat in the ring. He didnt, so i can live with that.
  17. See what else is out there. There will be a few names that fall into the PSD that could be better value between now and then. Whyman has not done much. IF he is a player, he would have been given a chance with the no frills roos. IF he didnt crack the roos lineup, it most likely means he is lazy, soft or both.
  18. The Swans are looking to free up cap room. The dempster/Schnider deal was a BARGAIN. I think Bolton would go for a similar price. I think the dees will sit it out, and just try and move Carroll. Miller just signed for 2 years, he is staying put.
  19. GREAT POST! Someone had to come on and say it. WHAT THE HELL IS EVERYONE SO [censored] ABOUT? The W##wodin trade was the right move (free up 600k in cap, and landed Daniel Bell, who is now our most promising young defender). Trapper was a FAV of mine, but the club is at a crossroad, and moves such as this had to be made. MAYBE, the dees should look at a sponsership deal from Kleenex, as it seems amny of our supporters are sooks! When trapper fades in 4 years, and out pick 14 starts to blossom into another Jones/Bate, everyone will be applauding this move. Grab A kleenex guys, wipe your eyes and get ready for the rebuilding process. IF you cannot handle it, perhaps you should follow another team.
  20. I would have to say that the departure of Ward, Trapper and byron (wiht Chopper on the market) would indicate that a change is coming. Whether it is forced, or jsut due, a cultural shift is underway at the Club. Party boy antics dont bother me so much, but the Bailey regime seems to be agaisnt it as it has seen trapper moved and chopper on the table. I would be happier if we got rid of the Day Spa, Hair gel culture first! Hopefully things don't become TOO SERIOUS down at the club, or we could see the club turn into the Swans Eade era (self destruct)
  21. Carrol for Bolton?? yeah, I would take that in a FLASH! Carlton and the tigers would snare him in the PSD before we would even get a sniff. If we can get bolton for free, I would be over the moon! If Miller for pick 11 and bolton came up, would we take it (oooooh hell yes!)
  22. WOW! Are we trying to have 22 ruckman in the same side? What the hell are we thinking?? Nothing agaisnt Moran, but we had 3 ruckman last year, and just added a FOURTH. A 5th would be beyond overkill. We need some defenders. 5 ruckman??? Unless CAC has some divine plan, i would give Moran a miss and develop Meesen.
  23. Dyson is ok. Cj is ok. It is a bit like swapping coke for diet coke. Sure, one has less calories, but they both still stain your teeth! Is it really worth it? May as well run another season with Cj and see how he goes now that the backline depth has thinned out. A new coach blooding youth will allow CJ to make an error or two, so he might start to develop.
  24. Travis gave us plenty of blood sweat and tears in his time with the club. Home many times did he gather a ball on deliver it SUBLIMLY to neitz at FF? He was one of the most skillful players to play at the club. The time was right for both parties to part. Travis will be a bit like Chopper Lovell for me, although he went elsewhere towards the end, he will always be a demon in my eyes. Thanks trapper. BRING ON PICK 14!
  25. We Talk of "potential" in abundance on these forums. Let it be kow, that Travis had more potential than ANY plyer to ever play at this club. If one day he can stay fit, and get his game right, he will be one of the elite midfielders in the comp. As far as skill and potential go, Travis was a true great. I would have loved to see him develop further, but his career and the clubs future are in two different directions. I hope Travis can find whatever it is he needs to live up to his potential in Brisbane. Trapper will be missed. Thanks for the memories (including the brownlow snog-a-thon!)
