  1. Roos loves defensive pressure. Brayshaw 9 tackles, JKH 1. I also saw him chase Saad and the effort was pretty poor. JKH is talented but he needs to work on his defensive skills it's why I think he has to make way for Dawes. THE TEAM B: JETTA, DUNN, GARLAND HB: HOWE, T.MCDONALD, SALEM C: LUMUMBA, N.JONES, CROSS HF: KENT, HOGAN, VANDENBERG F: WATTS, DAWES, GARLETT FOLL: JAMAR, TYSON, VINEY IC: VINCE, NEWTON, FROST SUB: BRAYSHAW EMERG: KENNEDY-HARRIS
  2. Are you trying to tell me he didn't have the job to try and stop Malceski? They just let Malceski run loose did they?
  3. Parish got 34 disposals last week and Schache kicked 7 goals so they are probably 2 to look out for if they slip to pick 18. Does anybody know why Lovett didn't play on the weekend?
  4. The way Geelong are going he'll have depression again and be looking for another club. That's what happens when you go to a team full of grandpa's. Why everyone thinks Danger will want to go to a retirement village like Geelong has got me stuffed, they are on the slide. He should be going to a up and coming side like us.
  5. I think Hogan already proved it against the Suns. Hogan has it all while Dawes is just a battler, he there to stop Hogan from being double teamed.
  6. Not to mention he had the job on AA half back Malceski who played one of the worst games he's ever played. After watching the replay it's quite clear that Toumpas and JKH will make way for Dawes and Vince.
  7. I tell you what we got lucky with it was Lynch getting suspended. I really think it was the difference, they had no tall to go to while we had Hogan and when the game was there to be won Hogan kicks a goal and crashes a pack which resulted in a goal to Newton. They had no one who could do that.
  8. Watch the replay Jamar smashed Smith for the first half. Gorringe took his spot and done a lot better job, he helped them get back into the game. Smith had an absolute shocker.
  9. Did he have an observation on Watts?
  10. He was subbed off too. What a wise investment by GWS! Is he the most disastrous pick of all time? Your thoughts on Brayshaw? The worst selection of all time or were you wrong?
  11. 6. MCDONALD 5. VINEY 4. WATTS 3. GARLETT 2. JONES 1. HOWE
  12. and JKH
  13. Bernie wouldn't he finished 3rd in the B&F last year. Tell me a team that wouldn't play a player that has finished as high as he did. 2 VFL game is more than enough match practice to get him through an AFL match.
  14. Sorry but Toumpas is broken and Vince is a gun, it's a no brainer inclusion. Dawes is the hard one. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the VFL but I think JKH will be the unlucky one to make way for him.
  15. 16% DE. His handball on the wing when he passed it to no one when he had a teammate right next him was almost as bad as the handball that got smothered in the goal square.
  16. WHAT A WIN! GREAT EFFORT BY THE BOYS THE GOOD T.McDonald - I laughed when someone predicted that he would be AA this year but if he keeps this up he is every chance. He's a real general in the backline and has great hands. BOG for mine can't believe he wasn't named in the best. Viney - I thought people were very harsh on him due to his costly clanger against the Dons. He was fantastic today, he looks like a gun tagger, they should keep him in that role. Watts - The best game he has played for the club. He is just a really smart player, his tap to Garlett was superb. Garlett - A real live wire, a great pick up for the Dees. Jones - A typical game by the heart and soul of the club, captain courageous. Howe - Didn't miss a beat back from injury, showed real composure. THE BAD Toumpas - We only had 1 bad player and that was him. I've never seen a player that lacks as much composure as this bloke. 2 of his handballs was school boy stuff thank god Vince will replace him but who will Dawes replace? I think JKH or Kent are going to be very unlucky. Curry & Beer - He hasn't come on after his ridiculous comments he made on Brayshaw. Just cop the spray and admit your theory is wrong and get on with life.
  17. Looks like he's off to the Dees next year he seems impressed. I wonder if Prestia will want to join us as well after watching our brilliant performance?
  18. It doesn't stack up for a team like us. I haven't looked at any stats but I would doubt that any team has as many ordinary experienced players as we have, usually teams experienced players are their best players they usually don't hold on to experienced ordinary players like we do. Looking at Collingwood's VFL side only Dwyer has experience while we have discounting Dawes and Vince who are regular senior players we have Terlich, M.Jones, Bail, McKenzie and Grimes. Gawn, Fitzpatrick and Spencer have been around a while too, we carry far too many ordinary experienced players. Your top 6 players win you games (most teams best 6 are usually experienced players) so the players that are likely to have a major contribution to the game are N.Jones, Tyson, Lumumba, Dunn, Cross and Garlett. Grimes has had plenty of chances to be one of our best players and continually failed, we have lost faith in him so give someone else a go if that is a 3rd year player or a first gamer so be it. If Grimes was playing I wouldn't expect him to have a impact because he hasn't been up to it for a long time and I would be disappointed if he put in another poor performance because he should be better with the experience he has had. I don't expect anything special from Brayshaw either but he's just a kid I can live with that. If your going to blame Brayshaw if we lose you are really pointing the finger at the wrong player.
  19. I think the whole team should be on notice. We have 2 certainties to come in next week, if you don't play well you get dropped. Hopefully we don't play like we did against Essendon where 18 players played poorly, but if everything goes to plan and the players we drop are unlucky then finally we can say that we have a little bit of depth.
  20. Dawes said in a NAB cup interview that he was going to play in this game.
  21. If you have been around for a while and can't get a game of course he should be traded. He's a fringe player at best, if you can get a better deal for him then why not? My concern with Grimes is that he has been so ordinary for a long time that not many teams will be interested in him.
  22. Garry Lyon said he was tipping Melbourne on the Footy Show.
  23. LOVETT WATCH: He's been named as ruck rover to take on Geelong. I was hoping that he would go head to head with a gun like Parish but I presume that Parish is in the Academy squad the will take on Werribee on Sunday.
  24. Happy with the team as I definitely think this is our best chance for a win in the first 7 weeks. Vince will be a blow but I thought he would still be another week away after only getting 12 touches last week. Even though it was on the cards I'm still shocked to see Grimes out, I thought Toumpas would be the obvious out but saying that I think it is a good move. He is a confidence player and needs to be shown some love and Roos has backed him in so it's time for Toumpas to repay the faith and perform, with Dawes and Vince to come in next week it's now or never. The myth that Roos will go with experience ahead of kids is just that a myth. He will go for talent first and that is how it should be. It really doesn't look good for Grimes he certainly needs to be put on the trade table. Vickery can't get a game maybe Grimes can get a game with his brother.
