WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST
WERRIDEE replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah great T Mac can't kick, Frost can't get the ball, Lumumba's gonna have to do it all by himself. -

He missed 5 out of the last 7. I'd like to know if it was form or injury that left him out of the side as well. He doesn't get much of the ball only getting over 15 disposals once this year. Honestly do we really need him? Dunn replaced Frawley down back only lowering his colours to Brown and McDonald played full back as well only lowering his colours to Roughhead. We now have 4 key defenders down back and 1 key forward up forward going into RND1, not a really balanced side if you ask me. Maybe they will use either Dunn or Garland up forward. Looking forward to a massive 10 to 15 goal season from one of them. Pick 23 is way over his value, should of used pick 23 to grab a midfielder. -

I can't believe RD,GNF and JJH lied to us. I really thought we would have a midfield of Dangerfield, Kennedy and Beams. Who wouldn't want to go to a club that lost their last 10 games and finished second last? Anyone who thinks we will be in a good position to get a quality Free Agent next year are kidding themselves if we have another year like this year. -

Rubbish Thompson was a gun in his final year at Melbourne. We were on top of the ladder with him in the side as an inside midfielder, once he got injured we fell away dramatically. Trengove has been useless and can't get an inside ball to save himself. -

Loyal? We have been more than loyal to him, he has not performed. He has been a disastrous draftee right up there with Watts, Toumpas, Gysberts and Cook considering we could have got Martin who is 10 times the player Trengove is. Barry signed a 2 year deal. As loyal as they come never get rid of this bloke, it doesn't matter if he plays in the reserves for the rest of his career keep him. McKenzie could of gone to Adelaide but chose Melbourne LOYAL never let him go. It's about time we traded out our drafting failures before they become like Morton where we could only get pick 88 for him. His loyalty being compared to Flower and McDonald is a joke. Loyalty is when you are that good you can go to any club you like for more success and\or money but choose to stay at the club because you love the club. Flower was famous for it, Lyon, Stynes, Viney, Neitz, McDonald etc all loyal and Jones has the chance to be put in that bracket if he chooses to sign up next year, Trengove is barely in our best 22. -

He played over 250 games and won 2 B&F's. He was a lot better than just OK. I suppose Stynes and Jones are O.K at best. -

They are all quicker than Trengove and apart from Suckling and Malceski all can play inside. -

Let's not put Junior and Trengove in the same sentence. One was a proven great player the other played his last game in the VFL. -

Beams is a gun and if he's available we should be going for him. We should be always going for the best available talent, if it bites us on the ass it bites us on the ass. Every pick or trade has the potential to bite us on the ass It doesn't mean we should be going for a worse player just because he could be a safer bet. -

Name me a slow outside player that is any good? because that's what he is. -

Woewodin was woeful at Collingwood, was over paid and done nothing after his Brownlow year, Powell hurt us more. McDonald did hurt us a lot though, we never even tried to replace him. -

A slow outside midfielder who can't get any inside ball and is injury prone for pick 10 or 12, what's not to like? We lack leg speed, GWS showed us up in that aspect. We are addressing that with the recruitment of Garlett, Lumumba and Stretch. Hopefully we can get another speedster like Ahern with that pick. -

Rubbish. He had no idea what he was doing and this is coming from his very own daughter. What defensive strategies we leaked goals? -

Hogan can't do it on his own. I obviously don't hold much faith in Pederson helping him out. -

How good are the GWS recruiters? Pick 2 to 19 in the space of 2 years, almost makes our recruiting look good. Fat Phil Scully is definitely earning his money. -

That wold be a terrible idea. Hrovat is just an average player to give away our best chance of getting a star for him doesn't make sense. Pick 6 is really pick 8 considering where Heeney and Moore were nominated. St.Kilda said there is a fair gap between Petracca, McCartin, Brayshaw and Wright and the rest. -

Pederson as our key forward, Christ we desperately need McCartin. -

Pick 23 is far too high for Frost. What has he done? We already have 3 tall backs, 4 would make our backline far too tall. Who makes way for him? -

How many key defenders do you want? We already have Dunn, Garland, McDonald and probably Frost. We need a key forward and midfielders, we don't need a skinny defender that's done his knee. -

Garlett couldn't get a kick in the VFL this year. I don't think we should be overrating him. -

Have faith in Taylor. He's not Barry "I don't want to watch games of football in case I make a mistake" Prendergast. I don't understand why people think St.Kilda desperately need McCartin but we don't? Dawes kicked only 20 goals and Frawley has left, we need a key forward. We were very lucky to get Tyson, if he wasn't always injured we probably never would have got him. Chances of being that lucky again would be remote. -
Where is the 4 years at $450k coming from? In haven't seen it anywhere, was it on Footy Classified? It doesn't make sense the Hawks have the money and why wouldn't they be giving him 5 years like the rest have?
-
What does he need to get to get band 1?
-
Why will Frawley only get a 4 year deal at 450k? Are they already trying to fit Jones into the cap for 2016? We won't get any special circumstance pick from AFL.
