  1. Why did JKH look so poor? Dawes has his critics and I can understand the other 2 but I thought JKH was a good trainer it's what got him games early last year. Was Toumpas training down back again?
  2. Is there a Casey player we should keep an eye out for a break out year? What type of players are Munro, Mason and Hannon?
  3. Does Rawlings see T.McDonald, Dunn, Garland and Frost all in the same backline together? Watts and Vince have been in the rehab group for a long time, will they have time to do enough training sessions to be considered for the fist NAB challenge game or are they in some doubt? Is vandenBerg training with the forwards or mids? Is Dawes doing any ruck work? Good to see Gawn doing well as a forward I have him in my best 22 after those glowing reports. Love your work TDI.
  4. Has Dawes been doing any ruck work at training?
  5. Out of the rookies who looks most likely to replace Trengove on the senior list? Is it too early to tell? What group is Bail training in?
  6. B: JETTA, T.MCDONALD, DUNN HB: GRIMES, GARLAND, HOWE C: VINCE, N.JONES, LUMUMBA HF: KENT, PEDERSEN, WATTS F: KENNEDY-HARRIS, HOGAN, GARLETT FOLL: JAMAR, TYSON, VINEY IC: CROSS, NEWTON, TOUMPAS SUB: SALEM EMERG: BAIL, FROST, GAWN Lumumba is training with the mids so Howe can replace him in the back half. I find it hard to fit the 4 talls all in the back half so Frost misses out, it will be interesting to see if they can fit the 4 talls in the same team. Pedersen will be a replacement for Dawes. I'm not convinced Gawn can play up forward, drops too many marks and is a liability at ground level hopefully his NAB challenge form can change my mind. I can't see M.Jones getting a game. He had a really poor last half of the year and with the recruitment of Lumumba and Newton I see them squeezing out M.Jones, I think Bail and Michie are also ahead of him and I would also like to see our 2 high draft picks Petracca and Brayshaw get a game in front of M.Jones as his skill level is not up to AFL standard.
  7. So is Watts training with the main group now or is he still on a modified program?
  8. Is Howe still training with the defenders? Has he been training with the forwards at all? How is Vandenburg going? How is Frost going?
  9. JETTA, T.MCDONALD, DUNN GRIMES, GARLAND, HOWE VINCE, N.JONES, LUMUMBA KENT, PEDERSEN, WATTS KENNEDY-HARRIS, HOGAN, GARLETT JAMAR, TYSON, VINEY CROSS, NEWTON, TOUMPAS SALEM
  10. Where does Watts fit? I thought he would be ahead of Fitzy, Gawn and Pedo for a spot in the front 6.
  11. MELBOURNE B: JETTA, MCDONALD, DUNN HB: GRIMES, FROST, LUMUMBA C: BRAYSHAW, JONES, CROSS HF: VINEY, HOGAN, PETRACCA F: WATTS, HOWE, GARLETT FOLL: JAMAR, VINCE, TYSON IC: GARLAND, GAWN, KENT SUB: BAIL GOLD COAST B: MCKENZIE, MAY, HARBROW HB: MALCESKI, THOMPSON, KOLODJASHNIJ C: RISCHITELLI, ABLETT, O'MEARA HF: BENNELL, LYNCH, MARTIN F: MATERA, DAY, DIXON FOLL: SMITH, SWALLOW, PRESTIA IC: STANLEY, SHAW, HALLAHAN SUB: LEMMENS KEY MATCH UPS FROST V LYNCH We recruited him to play on the monsters, no better test than going head to head with Lynch. GRIMES V BENNELL It's going to be a tough task but Grimes needs a new role to revive his career and becoming a tagger might be it. We need someone to eventually replace Cross as our number 1 tagger. CROSS V O'MEARA He done a good job on him last time. I expect us to lose by about 5 goals. I really can't see us kicking enough goals Dawes's suspension really hurts us he really could have stretched the Gold Coast defence.
  12. Really happy with our drafting this year. We got our very own Martin with Petracca and our very own Wines with Brayshaw. We also got Neal-Bullan and McDonald who draft experts thought would be picked in the 20's got to be happy with that.
  13. Does anybody know why Dangerfield was taken so low in the draft when he had all the tools to make it as an AFL footballer while Morton was a gutless receiver?
  14. I find it hard to believe that Jones is only on 250K a year. When did he sign his last contract? I don't think the problem will be financial not even Melbourne are that stupid that they wouldn't give him what he wanted. I'll be amazed if it doesn't drag on, this contract will more than likely be his last chance for success. I'll be amazed if he didn't wait to see what direction the club was heading before he would sign.
  15. McVeigh will replace Malceski off half back leaving a spot in the midfield for Heeney who will get a game ahead of Mitchell IMO. He's every chance to win the Rising Star award.
  16. When a kid can be out all year with a knee reco and still be considered a top 3 chance I think it says everything about how woeful this draft really is. This draft will be one of the worst in history, just our luck to have 2 high picks in such a poor draft.
  17. It's sad to see a poor man's Weetra leave the club. I'm disappointed that we couldn't see him reach his true potential by averaging 5 disposals a match at VFL level for the next 2 years. I was right again he never should have got a new contract and you were wrong again.
  18. So what? Did clubs send out Johnston, Morabito, Menzel, Patton and Smith to train\play with a damaged ACL? That's how they done it again? Of course not. Lever may never do his knee again but if he does serious questions will have to be asked regarding the recruiting department when the whole world knows he has a dodgy knee. If the club thinks he is worth the risk then good them but he is definitely a risk.
  19. Then why haven't we won a premiership then? When is the last time Melbourne went with a safe pick? If we select Brayshaw it will the first time we have selected a safe pick since Scully and everyone has a go at him because he's done nothing but he did give us a [censored] load of salary cap space because we couldn't keep him and he allowed us to land Hogan so he has given us a lot more than the speculative picks we have picked up in the first round who have completely duded us. Look at all our first rounders all have been skinny except Trengove who is an outside player. All have been slow except Scully and Blease. All have been outside players except Scully and Gysberts. I don't know about anybody else but I'm sick and tired of the club getting burnt by skinny, slow, outside players. Time to go for safe picks with meat on them.
  20. McCartin looks like the obvious pick but it's Melbourne we never go for the obvious. When you look the 3 criteria's that Melbourne choose their players from which are: You have to be slow. You have to be skinny. You have to be injury prone. I don't think McCartin fits those criteria's while Lever ticks all the boxes. I think we are heading towards another Toumpas type blunder.
  21. The only draft expert you should read is Machsy. Just ask him. His expert opinion on McCartin was brilliant. I watched some Falcons games but I didn't know if he was actually playing as I wasn't looking out for him. Pure gold now he says McCartin will go at 4 and is a good player after saying he wasn't worthy with a spot insde the top 15 to 20 players. I'm sure he will hail him as the next Plugger if we select him it's the Demonland way. You have now been told Machsy is the only draft expert that can satisfy your needs.
  22. Your the one that's being fanciful. Richmond wanted him at pick 12 before he got injured, you don't think they would use a late pick on him? If they recruit Newton Evans, McKenzie or Fitzpatrick will have to be delisted then rookied if they are going to use pick 40 it won't Trengove or they will use pick 40 for Jetta. Essendon are only going to pick 20 in the draft so they clearly don't think there is a lot of depth in the draft Melbourne might be thinking the same. Who are the 20 players you would have ahead of McCartin? You have a go at his speed but then rave on about Lever who is slower, well done Mr Fanciful.
  23. 30% is a lot better that's success right there, never finishing higher than 14th. The Bulldogs drafted better than us which isn't hard they picked up 2 better players than Toumpas, received a father\son pick and picked up Bontempelli other than that they don't have a lot going for them. We will see how they go next year. Both Neeld and McCartney are nothing appointments.
