Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Chris Judd clearly lacks any semblance of empathy if this is anything to go by. To be fair, you can't really be expected to get it if you haven't been emotionally invested in the club these past few years. Current players get it, fans get it, even a good chunk of past players get it (that Schwartz video nearly brought a tear to the eye). Judd doesn't. Whatever. -
Meanwhile . . . over at the Kennel

Would you pay 6 million dollars to Cale Morton if he was guaranteed to win a GF for you? I would. -
Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
Bang Bang Bang replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
When was the last time a suspected ACL actually was not one? I remember Riewoldt against us last year, but don't think Jake has bone bruising. I wonder if there's any hope! -
It doesn't seem all that fashionable to like Jordan Lewis, but I thought he was very good again today and is having another good year. He'd be fairly happy with his career move too, he chose us over 10 other clubs, and it didn't really work last year. He would be thinking flag #5 is at least a genuine possibility now.

Very common for VFL players to get drafted and become solid AFL players (eg. Hannan). But very rare for them to have such... class. Isaac Smith was probably the last one and Davey before him. Fritsch would go first round if the draft was held again.

Didn't influence the result and evened itself out a bit but [censored] me Ray needs to stop thinking people pay money to see him pull shitty frees out of his backside from 100m away.

Spargo has played 6 games of AFL footy for 6 wins and an average winning margin of 64 points.

Best Melbourne team since 1998. This time we don't have a [censored] finals system and Wayne Carey standing in our way.

UPDATE: SIZE L located, found and bought at New Balance Melbourne Central. Thanks Demonland! This thread was a Haily Mary at best but delivered the goods. -
Buying a royal blue jumper - help
Bang Bang Bang replied to Bang Bang Bang's topic in Melbourne Demons
Looks like they have just the kids version. I'm thinking of just going for an XL from MFC and having a baggy fit until 2019. I love it that much! -
Buying a royal blue jumper - help
Bang Bang Bang replied to Bang Bang Bang's topic in Melbourne Demons
L but could probably fit into an M. -
The Demon Shop is sold out of most sizes of the lovely clash Guernsey... And won't be getting any more in this year they said. I know there are plenty of other stores that sell Guernseys both online and at shopping centres, if you can help out in any way, your help would be much appreciated.

In all seriousness, watched on TV and haven't seen that kind of massacre on a footy field since the Neeldy days (wrong side) and Daniher days (right side). We should wear the royal blue every week. I made a deal with myself, if we win this week I buy one and get it shipped overseas. Looking forward to its arrival.

I can't believe Max Gawn ran over the mark at the quarter time siren. Max, you are paid a lot of money to do the basics right. You killed any momentum we had going into the huddle. Am I doing it right, @poita?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dear Poita, It's no surprise to see a veil of negativity coming from you despite the team's good form. I'll have you know that Tim Smith actually played as the second ruck after half time against Geelong after Max went down injured. He had 3 hitouts, which is just one less than Pedersen has averaged in his past six games. Yours, Goody -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I seem to recall Tim Smith playing some ruck against Geelong after Gawn went down. Not very well mind you. -
He WAS good against St Kilda, but poor last night. Given Goody played Maynard ahead of him in Round 1, I have no doubt Tyson will be a serious contender to make way for Viney next week. If an AA squad member in Garlett can play at Casey for form issues then so can a guy who is underperforming in the exact role Viney will play.

Brayshaw is such a good centre square player. His ability to kick 45-50 off either foot and one step means his clearances have maximum effectiveness. Also Bayley Fritsch had 26 possessions. Not the best on the ground by any stretch but he's already showing he's not gonna be just a low possession, high impact player. He's better that that.

Whateley is just symbolic of the footy media getting carried away from week to week. I remember last year, at one point before Round 6, he said Sydney were no chance to make the finals. Fast forward to August and all of a sudden it's Sydney are unstoppable. September comes, they have a bad night and it's done and dusted. The Hawks game for us was 4 lost points againat a very good side and a disappointing percentage drop. Nothing more. Whateley wasn't the only one to overreact.

28 touches and good kicking on show today. He even fluked a goal! Much improved on last week. I agree with the wanna-be Dustin Martin analogy though, does my head in.

Tyson couldn't have been that wasteful because the commentators were calling him our best kick with a 'dynamite' left. Obviously that's not normally the case but... Still gets caught way too much but his disposal was on today.
-
Two things. 1. I'll take a 39 point win against any opposition any day of the week. 2. I can't recall Brayshaw having anywhere near 33 disposals in prior games, 360 degree player, fantastic game and a real bonus if he continues on with it.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I always liked having Bugg in the side because of his ability to agitate, but his skills would constantly frustrate. I think we may have found his replacement in Spargo. By the way dazzle, not having a go at you mate and I really appreciate the inside info you shared, but GWS couldn't have been that filthy about losing the rights to him? As they overlooked him one pick before us. -
What was his username? As others have said it was almost identical to 2017. Not only that, but we're on the same W/L ratio after six rounds, with a worse percentage but much smaller injury list. I was probably more optimistic about finals this time 12 months ago, but the season is far from shot. We've really made good use of our second round picks in the past few years. Melksham and Hibberd (trade) and Spargo and Fritsch (draft) were among the best on the park today. I thought games like today would be where we'd miss the skills of Jack Watts the most. But Melksham (field kicking) and Fritsch (set shots) have filled the void. I'm actually struggling to remember why everyone was against getting Melksham in the first place. He has been excellent. Still not convinced about the Lever trade working out for us but it was good to see some of his friends down back find form today. Even Lever himself was better after half time.
