  1. The Port game is our biggest H&A game in years IMO. Port have generally played their worst footy against the top sides and we've played our best. If we win, we're nearly eliminating them from the race and reminding the competition we're not done with yet. If we lose, we go down to 5th and it's pretty much curtains for Top 4 with the tough road trips to come. Moreover, a loss would confirm our worst fears that we're not actually good enough to win it. Of course, their most valuable player is already scheduled to make a miracle return after he was "indefinite" five days ago and spend what seems like many months on the sidelines. MFCSS is at its highest levels since Cairns. Prove me wrong Melbourne.
  2. Sadly this is going to prove to be the game that costs us Top 4. We'll drop to 5th when Port beat us. Still have West Coast in Perth and Geelong in the Cattery after that. [censored]. This is a slightly modified 2017 all over again. BBB would have easily been able to milk a couple of frees or take a couple of marks on the lead and that's the difference right there, but the arrogance of Goodwin has cost us big time.
  3. This is the Collingwood game all over again. Absolute porridge. BBB probably would have had 2 looks for 2 goals. He doesn’t have a lot of tricks to his game but being a straight kick goes a long way in the current side. FFS, even TMac hasn’t slotted one for a month now.
  4. I’m not a fan of what Spargo did that’s borderline corruption for it to be paid HTB one minute after Toby.
  5. I'll be naming my firstborn Jakelever.
  6. All of Brown’s games were played in wet or poor conditions for AFL footy (maybe a bit harsh on Tassie as I think it was an OK day for once there against North). Weideman has played every game bar 1 in perfect conditions for a tall forward and still clearly inferior to Brown statistically. So Brown has kicked more goals in fewer games in poorer conditions, and has played about 5x as many good seasons as Weideman has played games. Absolutely baffling. I wanted Weid gone after the Crows game, how he’s still here doing nothing a month on has me stumped. It would be like playing OMac ahead of May in 2019.
  7. I will [censored] flip a lid if Weideman keeps his spot against Essendon. Surely not. He is OMac levels of bad.
  8. That stings. The absolute arrogance of thinking we could carry Weid thinking he'd magically turn good .For all BBB does wrong there's one thing he does constantly and that's kick goals. Two weeks to savour that performance now. [censored].
  9. People bang on about Melksham being best buds with Goody but I’d love to know what Weid has on him. How he keeps getting a game with one good game in six seasons when we have a proven 60 goal a year forward fully fit is one of the greatest selection mysteries of our time.
  10. Lukey Jack makes me moist. The rest of that quarter was entirely forgettable.
  11. I know it destroyed our season but even placing that bias aside, Cairns is hands down the worst place in Australia to play a game of footy.
  12. The 2017 draft has cost them dearly. Dow and O'Brien were meant to become two very important pieces of their jigsaw puzzle in the middle but they are both Toumpas level busts. They are really that bad. I'd say part of that comes down to bad luck, Dow in particular was considered an absolute gun at the time and with the benefit of hindsight you can now saw that 2017 was a weak year for midfielders. Any other year and they could have gotten players in the calibre of Oliver, McLuggage, Darcy Parish etc. Plug any two of those calibre of players into the current Carlton midfield and they are a finals side.
  13. This guy doesn't get enough credit. To come back at 31 years old after everything he's gone through, and play the best footy with us since his AA year is an absolute credit to himself. I could easily see him going around again in 2022!
  14. Will be careless, high contact and low impact. A fine. Pretty simple I’d have thought. Rich didn’t even need medical attention.
  15. I drink pretty heavily during Friday night games so my memory is generally pretty hazy of the last quarters of games. I woke up today and literally thought that passage of play that led to the final TMac goal was a wonderful dream I’d had. Watching the replay and it actually happened! Holy [censored], what an unbelievable team effort.
  16. What makes you think those players are going to fall off a cliff? Max just signed a 4 year contract. TMac is playing like a 24 year old and down the highway Tom Hawkins is in career best form at 32. Happy for Sam to stay on the list if he’s willing to be a depth player, but the facts remain that he has never been any good. One good game and a few cameos in six seasons now.
  17. I can't get enough of this team. This is footy porn.
  18. Still have fond memories of us kickstarting our 2020 season at Giants Stadium. Would have loved to see that Alice Springs backdrop on a Friday night but this is the next best thing. Good ground for footy.
  19. Just watching the replay. Man, Trent Rivers is [censored] special. Goody’s raucous applause when he runs off late in the second says it all.
  20. Normally I’d be chilled by now but I’m still raging about that deliberate non-call lol. That gets paid 100 times out of 100 at any other moment. Are our players somewhat to blame for it? Hear me out. Umpires are human. The lack of an appeal from Jackson and co surely had an impact in that umpire’s mind. Does Goody bring that up in the review or am I overthinking things here?
  21. I’m staggered we dropped BB ahead of Weid to begin with. A lot of revisionist history going on with Weid - apart from one good final many years ago and a couple of OK performances in the hub he’s been largely irrelevant. There’s also not many I’d have behind him to kick for my life. BB had 5 goals in 3 games largely in poor conditions and is a proven performer at AFL level. Happy to trust the coaches for any other calls but that one was a howler and I hope they amend it ASAP.
  22. It's a shame, that was one of the all time great games from Clarry. And yet a couple of cowards in yellow ruined it. Anyway we should never have let them get so close and I've never seen May and co play so badly.
  23. Still had more positive impact than Chandler.
  24. I get the notion of giving the young guys a few weeks to find their feet, but I rebut that in this instance where the guy's performance was a million miles off AFL standard. His statistics paint a pretty full picture. But that's not the end of it, despite being a midget he even got in Weid's way to fly for (and spill) a mark, nearly ruining a certain goal. I'm sure he's trying his best and would love to eat humble pie, but he's in the Baker basket for mine. Straight out. In fact, Baker's solitary game was brilliant compared to this. Also finally worked out how to put a Demonland member on ignore. Are we certain Dr.D isn't Brian Taylor?
  25. Starting to trust Petty.
