  1. Not sure what to make of Jeffo’s game. He could actually be really good if he wasn’t so bad if that makes sense. I’d give him a few more weeks
  2. Worst umpiring I’ve seen in years. No advantage to Moir (Q3), no HTB to Clarry and tiggy touchwood to Curnow. That’s the game. Could name a ton of others. But those three were a [censored] disgrace. Sheer incompetence.
  3. Thanks Dazz. Saves me a listen. Goody never gives much away but he’s always pretty easy to read and reliable regarding Player contracts and whether they’re staying or going. The Jackson comparison is spot on. In 2022 Goody went from being “extremely confident” to “hopeful” to “making the most of the time he has left with us” all in the space of a few months. That quote on McVee is very concerning. I reckon he’s gone for sure after reading that. Sounds like Fritta and Clarry will be there though.
  4. 6 Fritsch 5 Salem 4 Petracca 3 Melksham 2 Gawn 1 Langford
  5. Dead rubber in July but still enjoyed that. Spent the first hour bemoaning the fact I didn’t bet on North and another afternoon wasted. Second half was very good though. Demonland’s whipping boys Salem and Fritsch were terrific I thought, Goody’s mate Melksham wasn’t bad either. Langford does not get enough hype. He’s a stud. Jefferson on last chance saloon looked great! North always I repeat always cause nuisance value against us. Zurhaar does it every bloody time and Cooper Harvey kicking 4 was so typical. Good to beat them!
  6. Can we talk about Kolt!
  7. Langford should have been pick 1.
  8. Great quarter from Demonland’s man Salem.
  9. Tracc 14 disposals at 36%. Yikes. I’ll cut him some slack but the 2025 version of Tracc is a C grader at best.
  10. People are acting like it’s the 2022 North Melbourne Kangaroos we’re playing. They’re not really much worse than us sorry to say. 4 bucks 50 is outrageous. I haven’t put a bet on for years but extremely tempted to whack 50 on that. If we lose it will be a crisis on here I’m sure, but apart from being bitterly disappointing, I’m not sure it changes the plight of much at all. If the club want Goody gone then a loss in a dead rubber to this North team isn’t going to be the dagger many think it is. Most likely he has his papers stamped either way already (my guess is he’s there in 2026).
  11. Melksham definitely gets another year, maybe even two. May and Lever were much better today. Turner is a gun. Kosi continues to shine as one of the premier hybrids. I want to see more of Langford. His decision making is excellent. Viney and Max battled manfully and Rivers was good early. The drop off from Tracc is “kinda” understandable given his age and injury, but why oh why is Clarry so bad aged 27? He should be in his prime. Big JT fan but Jefferson and Kolt look like busts. Trading some good picks to move up for Kolt is looking disastrous given our lack of depth. Another honorable loss. It’s [censored] depressing having dead rubbers this early in the year .
  12. I know these threads are always hostile but that’s a bit much, no? Norm Smith medal, 4xAA, champion of the club. Will give the hall of fame a real shake. I’m sure the panel will forgive him being tackled by Rory Laird once in a meaningless H&A game that time.
  13. Young players need time but also every draft has busts so he’s still a concern. He just looks a bit too slow for mine. Langford and Lindsay are slow too but they have tricks that consistently give them time and space to dispose effectively. Haven’t seen that yet from Kolt. He’s good overhead, a reasonable kick and great for morale but he’ll need more than that to get past 100 games.
  14. Wow I can’t believe that, love it though. In fact half of Demonland has been saying this since the Sydney game.
  15. I seem to remember Port Adelaide ended our season last year as well, albeit much later, and Goody continued to play our best side. No eye for the future at all. We still got belted by Collingwood in a dead rubber anyway. I wouldn't be holding my breath about Jeffo coming in to replace Melksham, Adams in for May or Lever, etc. It will still be our best side regardless of age every week. Nevertheless, I'm hopeful that Jefferson comes in maybe for Petty, Tholstrup and Laurie can come in for Sparrow and Rivers, and perhaps Turner can play as a permanent forward. I'd personally have TMac ahead of Lever, but that's never going to happen. Windsor should probably lose his spot too, but I put his second year blues somewhat down to poor coaching and development. It was a [censored] decision to move him in December, a [censored] decision in March and a [censored] one now. Just end it. It's not helping that Windsor suddenly seems allergic to finding the footy and continues to butcher it the 10 times he does find it. One of our most exciting prospects last year suddenly looks all at sea. Concerns???
  16. You can’t just get rid of core players because they aren’t as good as they used to be. Who plays midfield in their place? Are Bailey Laurie and Trent Rivers going to get us out of the doldrums are they? Keep both.
  17. Was ready to throw a brick at the TV when Viney gave away that 50. Absolutely [censored] brain dead, our third one for the day and they were all equally ill disciplined. Absolutely killed any chance we had of winning. As big a momentum killer as the missed shots earlier. Sparrow is normally pretty reliable but FFS Petty, FFS Clarry. And look he was probably our best player again and I don’t want to be Kings Birthday Steven May but there’s no bigger momentum killer than our captain lining up for goal at present. Why hasn’t he tried something different?? Walk, hop skip shank clearly isn’t working!!!
  18. That was not bad umpiring it was just [censored] brain dead from Viney. 4 seconds left and he wants to be a smarty pants. 3rd [censored] time out of 3 they get a goal after the siren. This [censored] team. Don’t get me started on Sparrow, Petty and Oliver. [censored] sake Viney.
  19. Grandpa Boak still regularly tears us a new one. Glad he's resting up this week. Tholstrup is a bit stiff I'd say. He's been a bit underwhelming for a first round talent so far, but he kicked a good goal and was unlucky not to kick the matchwinner. Not sure treating him like a yo-yo is beneficial for his development, nor do I really understand what they're looking for with him. His form at VFL level to begin with wasn't the greatest....
  20. Can someone a little older than me refresh my memory on this guy? I remember him being pretty ordinary for us and yet we shipped him off to Fremantle for pick 19 - which we used on 250 gamer and club president Brad Green! How is that possible? Were Freo just [censored] or did they see something? Would it be like shipping Bailey Laurie off for a firstie or was Longmuir better than that?
  21. Can't see this one happening now. Even if Luke requests a trade I have a high degree of confidence that the moaning hypocrites over in the west will pull a Wade Derksen on us. Absolute guarantee.
  22. People are acting like a 32 year old Kosi will have white hair and be walking out in a wheeled frame in 2034. My guess is he will still be an awesome player at 32. Given he was liking Fremantle's posts and texting Fremantle players a matter of a few months ago locking him away for 9 years is GREAT NEWS!
  23. I generally like the way May plays like he's an enraged Demonlander in a gameday thread, but I think he went too far with that. Gawn is untouchable! Besides, those kinds of rubbish chaos kicks are the ones that can win you games sometimes. The idea was right. Settle the [censored] down May. Unfortunately that entire game was far too predictable. Yes, Daicos is a squib. Yes, the maggots mauled us. Yes, we wasted a chance to win. But Collingwood are damn good and they are simply so much better than us at taking their chances and closing out a game. Seen that movie way too many times.
  24. The irony is we’re going to lose a [censored] load of cash on King’s Birthday now our season is close to cooked. An extra 15,000 would have gone if we’d won today and we would have if it was at the G. Sold our souls for yet another ****ty loss at that ****ty ground. Every other team builds a little fortress, Gold Coast in Darwin. Bulldogs in Ballarat, Hawthorn in Tassie, Port in China, even North are hard to beat in Hobart. But no not the Melbourne Demons. [censored] morons, 7.21 I can’t even.
