  1. I would have thought McCartin would be a round 2-3. Talent probably places him in the 2nd, concussions and health/injury issues push him to third... For the life of me I simply do not understand the hype around Darcy Moore and would be flabbergasted if a club surrendered a first round pick for him.
  2. That’s the gamble. Id say he has very little value at the moment so would rather keep him and look to build upon his potential. It comes down to whether you think he has what it takes at senior level. I think he has the makings of a decent player and could surprise a few in the next year or two. With that said, I completely understand people who aren’t convinced as he hasn’t had a great showing at senior level as yet. I doubt anyone would offer better than a third round pick.
  3. IF that is the case, I doubt we’d let him go unless the trade offer was significant. His stocks are as low now as they could ever be and he’s coming to an age and size that he can start to make an impact. We’ve already invested a lot of time in him and out no 1 forward has just gone down with what is a potentially very serious injury. Contracted to the end of 2019, so I’d hope we keep him.
  4. Currently on the same team as Hamish Brayshaw. He’s got some uncomfortable conversations ahead of him whichever way he turns.
  5. Disgusting. Should not play again this season, regardless of finals results. I can’t bear the ‘good bloke’ or ‘not a thug’ excuses. This act cancels out any of that instantly.
  6. How exactly does a ‘side trade’ work? Is it inferring that we’d trade a ‘promising young mid’ to them on the cheap, in return for them allowing us to take Gaff as a free agent?
  7. Great awareness and vision in close coupled with an excellent side-step and lateral movement- has the makings of a very good midfielder. May or may not play out the season in the 1st (fatigue, injury, etc.) but I’ve seen enough to be excited about 2020+.
  8. I can’t imagine a scenario in which he wouldn't be a band one... He’s young (turned 26 yesterday) he’s playing well (at least in AA squad at this stage) he’ll get a long contract, and he’ll be on good money. They’ll get band one, unfortunately for them, they look like finishing near the top of the ladder so they would only get a pick somewhere in the 15-18 range.
  9. 4 new pages to this thread today... anyone would have thought there was some Gaff news...

When it was announced by the AFL that PJ was coming into the club, I was disgusted that a former Essendon boss was putting his grubby paws on my beloved club... I’ve never been more wrong. I'm prepared to give former Fitzroy fullback Gary Pert a go.
  11. Kent lost me as a player last year on the back of a string of lazy performances. For all his promise and potential weaponry, he just doesn't get enough of the ball or effect enough contests. For a player of his speed, power and supposed physicality, he averages just 2 tackles and game and has kicked over 3 goals just once in his career (4 goals, round 3 2016). He's recorded over 20 disposals in a match six times in his career, 5 of those times were in 2016; did very little before and very little since.
  12. Which part is inaccurate? If we’d kept pick 2, we would have taken Billings. Is it the inclusion of pick 20?? If so, then it’s Billings and Jack Leslie for Salem, Tyson and Hunt.
  13. Billings is a big ‘what might have been’ for us. Roos has said that the Kelly vs Tyson/Pick 9 debate is void as we rated Billings at pick 2 that year. Billings vs Tyson, Salem and Hunt... I think we’ve come out ahead. https://www.google.com.hk/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/paul-roos-reveals-new-spin-on-2013s-blockbuster-trade-between-melbourne-and-gws-giants/news-story/20f8f893a20fcd0c57cf90e413938e49
  14. When we win the flag this year, I think Vince and Lewis may bow out. That'll free up some cap space...
  15. Pretty sure Lynch was using us as leverage to jack-up his price with Adelaide. Fool me once, shame on you...
  16. I rate degoey, but we have no currency for a trade, unless of course we’re willing to trade out one of our equal or better young players.
  17. He’s an inside mid- always has been, always will be. He was held back for injury, form and education, but now that he’s been unleashed he’s looked right at home for the first time in a long time.
  18. It was a bit of fun, good exposure and gave a very positive view of our club to the world. Was a little bit cringy that the women's team, who seemed to be present, weren't mentioned or acknowledged at all during the episode - everything was ''da boys'd love that''.
  19. A google search of his name brings up a bunch of match reports from WA football leagues (and a small role in the Cloud Street mini-series)
  20. I think the bigger concern would be that he seems to be living in WA, having played for Mandurah. Will be hard to get him all the way over to Victoria, and keeping him here. (Just ask his father)
  21. To think that the Brayshaw thread three weeks ago was screaming for him to be traded at fire-sale prices... We're a fickle bunch.
  22. You obviously haven't heard how much of a 'good bloke he is...'
  23. The lid is off! Oscar is now mainstream.
  24. Was excellent today. Great vision, thinking in traffic and very quick hands. Can see him dishing out some lightning handballs from a congested midfield in the coming years.
  25. Now up on the club’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
