I'd get rid of a lot of players before Fritsch!

TRAINING: Wednesday 27th May 2020
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I genuinely believe this could be one of the greatest drafts in our history. Jackson, Pickett and Rivers all to be regular 22 by next year. -
CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder how the death of his brother may affect him also? Obviously an extremely sad situation for him. -
I imagine we will get Saints, North or Bulldogs at 4:35pm on the Sunday....

Forward 50 Entries Are Being Addressed
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
100% agree. We seem to have a playerstart playing well and then decide to move him somewhere else. So confusing! We can easily rotate Viney, Petracca, Oliver, Harmes and Brayshaw through the middle. Trac plays forward when rotating. Viney plays forward when rotating. Oliver plays forward when not rotating. Brayshaw play half back when rotating. Harmes play half back when rotating. I'm not sold on our current coaching group, however I do think we need to stick with Goodwin for stability. I'd like to see a full sweep out of our assistants like the Tigers did and invest in the very best line coaches we can find. -

Dees vs Hawks: Who’s Closer to a Flag
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couldn't care less what these nuffies say. Last final we played them we won convincingly and also beat them last season. End of the day it doesn't matter who is closer if neither eventually win. -
I would be happy to pay $100 to go to a game
-
The issue is they would then have to employ staff to monitor where people are sitting, man the ticket gates etc. So 10,000 tickets probably won't cover that. Also, how do you choose who gets to go and who doesn't?

I will say this, to anyone jumping on here making fun of channel 7 and the AFL for doing this - what else do you want them to do? I saw a comment about lobbying the governments to have crowds? Don't be ridiculous. I think the difference was substantial and if we have to play without a crowd, then having the background crowd noise is a good way to take people's minds off the fact there is no crowd. I'd also like to see 7 and the AFL get creative with it. Maybe have fans send in photos of themselves and lucky ones get cut outs in the crowd or something. It's a sh*t situation but everyone just needs to suck it up and stop complaining every time something comes out.

The Death of the Second Ruckman?
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it all depends on the caliber of players you have at your disposal. If we have Gawn and then Jackson becomes a star then you play both no matter what and build your game plan around that. If you don't have any great backup ruck option then you need to come up with your preferred structure. The risk is you lose your ruck man early in a game and then are left with an inferior ruck the whole game. I would like to see our coaching team focus on playing to our strengths as opposed to trying to do what everyone else is doing. -
I was living in Canada at this time and had unplugged myself from footy a bit.... which was a great time to do it
-
This is ridiculous..... please AFL media personalities find something else to do with your spare time

I was only 7 so don't really remember 1994. Just looked it up and see we lost to the Eagles in the prelim.... So both times we've lost to West Coast in prelim they've won the flag.... Gee I hope we can get them back sometime. FYI I'm originally a Perth boy so it cuts even deeper.

I disagree. At the end of the day if your view of elite means only the top 10 rated players, then using champion data this is the list: 1. Gawn 2. Grundy 3. Neale 4. Fyfe 5. Dangerfield 6. Martin 7. Cripps 8. Goldstein 9, Bontempelli 10. Macrae Oliver actually sits in 13th at the moment and I believe in 2018 got as high as the third or fourth ranked player. He is an elite talent without a doubt, even if 2019 wasn't as good for him as 2018.
-
In my mind our list is as follows: Currently Elite Gawn - 3 time all Australian and in the top 2 ruck man in the competition Oliver - already an All Australian at 22 and will only get better. Needs to work on a few things to become a consistent top 5 mid but he will get there. Potential Elite May - bordering on elite and probably would be there now if he hadn't had a shocking first season. I expect 3 elite seasons with us and then 1-2 as an above average player. Petracca - his pre-season and change of body shape shows the penny has dropped and I expect him to be in the top 5 mid/fwds very soon. Viney - if he is fit he is elite. His game against the Eagles was huge, could very well be elite by the end of the year. Bennell - at his very best for the suns he was incredible. If he gets fit he could reach similar heights again. Lever - still only young and seems to be settling into his role with us after an unfortunate knee reco. absolutely has the tools to be an elite intercept defender. Very Good Fritsch T McDonald Harmes Salem Brayshaw Langdon Jetta Melksham Above average Tomlinson Hibberd Jones Lockhart Pickett Vandenberg Average or too early to tell Jackson Spargo Bedford Hannan Wedieman Rivers Jordon Neal-Bullen O McDonald Hore Sparrow Bradtke Dunkley Chandler Petty Unlikely to make it Wagner x2 J Smith M Brown Hunt Nietschke

Best Traded In & Out MFC players

Jeff White by far the best -
I'm more worried about there actually being a club I can go to watch.....
-
Can't remember who ran these in the past, but doesn't seem anything has been discussed yet? I assume we won't be doing this now?
-
My idea to fix this is to bring in a bonus point every time a team scores over 100. Coaches will then have an incentive to have an attacking gameplan.

Just imagine he plays a full season...... was pivotal to our 2018 run
