Really like he way he goes about it. Absolute professional and will get every ounce of talent out of his body. I'm also really interested to see how young Dion Johnstone goes this year. He is looking super fit in the training photos. Would be interested to hear some reports o him from anyone who has been at training so far?

Picks after the top 10 are overrated these days. Free agency has completely changed the landscape. We've got an outstanding young core of Hogan, Petracca, Weideman, Viney, Oliver, Hunt, ANB, Lever, Salem, Brayshaw & OMac, plus others who may still come on like Harmes, Stretch, Balic, Johnstone. We don't need heaps of draft picks in the next 2-3 years, we need free agents and ready to go players to fill needs. I've got a feeling the Watts movement is a part of that with someone like Gaff a FA at the end of the year. It's time we put all our eggs in the winning a flag basket.

Seems to be a smooth mover. Not lightning quick, but enough leg speed to be damaging. Hold hopes he can turn into a solid player on the wing and replace Vince & Lewis as they move on over the next 2 years.

I'd say they may be looking to do a 2 for 1 upgrade and maybe pick up a de-listed free agent as well.

What a great way for the Demonland faithful to send off a man, who would likely have the most posts about him in the history of Demonland. I can't wait for him to get a bag of goals next season, we can have another merry-go-round of Jack Watts posts.

When I saw the headline I thought he was referring to the actual deal and what we paid. I then read the article and laughed. What a joke.

Please do not compare trading Jack Watts to de-listing James McDonald. One was a heart and soul captain who squeezed every bit of talent out of his body. The other is a highly talented, but flakey player who doesn't seem to understand what is required to be a top AFL player.

I disagree. I've always been a Watts supporter and defended him at times but I'm over him now and want him gone. This is totally his doing, a guy who will be 27 at the start of next season and still isn't professional in his preparation. He seems to act like he doesn't know why this is happening, which is staggering really. And I'm more disappointed than anything, as he could've been a really great player for the Dees but never got out of 2nd gear.

That video of Watts further shows why he needs to go. That is not the type of attitude we want at the club. Seems to be making it all about him, which is disappointing. I don't understand why so many on here are getting upset that he is leaving? He mentioned that the MFC don't want good kicking skills.... he averaged 8 kicks a game last year, I think we will get by.....

I'd like to see us add an experienced ruck to our rookie list if possible. Only as coverage if Gawn went down again.

I'm not going to complain about compo picks seeing as we previously got pick 3 for Frawley and a pick in the early 20's for Sylvia. It has been good to us.

So what happens if they don't sign by that date? They have to leave? Wouldn't work. What if a player simply hasn't made up there mind yet but 6 weeks later they have.

Tyson was also very good in his first year with us. 2014 I think it was? I think people are writing Tyson and Salem off too quickly, they are still both only 24 & 21 respectively. And people also choose to forget that at the time our list was a shambles and we needed as many good players as we could get, not just one top 5 draft pick. People really need to get over this trade and move on.

If it's costing pick 46 or 65 in a seemingly weak draft what does it matter? I'd say we've got a better chance at taking a punt on Harley than a kid at that pick.
