  1. While I think Wagner was good after half time (1st half was terrible but so was most of our defensive players). I just think we should play Lever as the third tall OMac & Frost the others, which means I can't see a spot for Wagner while those three play. Lever plays that role perfectly, similar to someone like Rance, so why don't we setup that way? Ideally I'd love us to get a genuine lock-down defender at the end of this season, someone like a Tarrant.
  2. Garry probably plucked that theory straight off of demonland....
  3. After some reflection of yesterday's game I have surmised that the reason we lost was due to a number of our players being well below their best. Specifically I'm thinking Hibberd, Jetta, Garlett, Lever & Hannan, but there were a few more. Before the game I thought that our main strength against the Cats was that we have greater depth across the whole ground, I still believe that. However, the Cats have the elite stars in Selwood & Ablett who were the two best players on the ground (Max comes close). To win I thought we needed an even contribution to outweigh the impact of their stars. Unfortunately, we didn't get that and it was left to our stars in Gawn, Petracca & Oliver to carry the majority of the load. They couldn't quite get the job done, but I took a lot out of the game knowing we were well below our best and still matched it with them. For us to play finals and possibly win finals we are going to need n even contribution from the side, and I'm backing the players in to turn it around!
  4. If we are going to play Wagner as the third tall I'd prefer we play Oscar and Frost and have Lever third tall to play the intercept role. I also think playing Maynard as a tagger was a poor decision and as much as he puts in, he isn't a natural footballer at the moment. Jetta & Hibberd played really poor games today so I will back them both in to play a lot better for the remainder of the season. Lewis was poor early but better in the last quarter and a half. He plays much better as the sweeper these days. Garlett was obviously poor but I'll also be backing him in to bounce back and put it down to match fitness. Without Viney we need more ball winners in the middle. People say Tyson can butcher the ball, well I would've loved a guy who can rack up 30 touches running through the middle today to help Oliver and Petracca. My team for Round 2: B: Jetta Frost Hibberd HB: Lever O Mac Lewis C: Hunt Tyson Vince HF: Petracca Hogan ANB F: Garlett Pedo Melksham R: Gawn Oliver Jones Int: Salem Fritsch Brayshaw Hannan Ins: Tyson Brayshaw Frost Out: Maynard Wagner Harmes
  5. Chat with Olisik. He seems to wish we selected every player in the draft except the ones we actually picked.
  6. You've lost it Olisik. I'm glad I'm not you.
  7. He will play well in games that Port dominate and go missing when the game is tight. Did the same thing for us. I wish him well and maybe the penny dropped, or maybe it will be same old. Time will tell.
  8. Fair enough. We can agree to disagree. Time will tell but I'm very concerned about Wagner's inclusion. Less so about Maynard as I like his hardness. Lets hope we get the win!
  9. Well at least Dom Tyson won't miss a target now Spud Wagner is in.
  10. No point of that. Doubt that bloke listens to anyone. Looking forward to Wagner turning it over in the first quarter to gift Geelong a goal. Do you honestly believe he is any good? I have him in the bottom 10 on our list.
  11. STMJ you're a [censored]. If you think Wagner is a better player than Tyson you're kidding yourself. He is a spud and will cost u the game on Sunday.
  12. I'm still in disbelief. I can take Maynard for Brayshaw as he seems like a brute and that could be handy in the middle. I can't stand Wagner. He is almost useless and to pick him over Tyson is embarrassing.
  13. Pretty disappointed with that bench. Wagner is a liability on the field. Worse field kicking than Tyson and gets a lot less of the ball. Not happy. Maynard over a Brayshaw is so-so as I like his hardness. No longer as confident as I was!
  14. You can add Viney to that list (still 23). So my Under 23 side would be: B: Hunt Lever Smith HB: Baker O Mac Salem C: Stretch Oliver ANB HF: Petracca Hogan Fritsch F: Spargo Weid JKH R: King Brayshaw Viney Int: Balic Johnstone Wagner Petty I have highlighted the players from this list that are currently in the best 22 (11). So a team thea is expected to play finals this year, currently has half it's team made up o players 23 and under.
  15. Just think, the Saints could have taken Petracca....
  16. While Curnow definitely looks the better player right now, we can't write Weideman off yet. Still only 20 and with a lot of upside. It is annoying but I can't knock our recruiting of late, we have found some absolute guns and steals late in the draft. Gee Richmond just aren't that good! Very lucky to win the flag last year. Doubt they will have that much luck again.
  17. I was just quoting what Misson said. They will spend 10 days off feet and then start to ramp up again.
  18. Gee some people are very touchy. It's a bit of fun and I had a good laugh.
  19. I don't understand why everyone is suddenly up in arms? Dave Misson basically told us this exact news in his video yesterday. De-load for 10 days and then start to build them back up. That is exactly the same as the time frame given by Goodwin.
  20. You could've guessed this timeframe from Misson's injury report. 10 days to de-load and then they have to re-load which you imagine is another 10-15 days. That's 3 weeks right there. Then another 3 weeks to get to match fitness levels.
  21. Trengove was out for 2 years..... a long way off that at the moment.
  22. So this week I've heard from some media personalities that we will the flag and others that we are mentally weak because we didn't do the camp. I'm confused, do we sit somewhere in the middle?
  23. At least they've provided an update... I'm happier knowing Viney's issue is with his big toe rather than an innocuous bone in the middle of the foot.
