  1. Add Rivers and Spargo. That's 5 guys 20 or under.
  2. Love what Langdon brings, but butler probably best recruit so far. I've heard Tom Phillips may be gettable. Imagine him on the other wing....
  3. We need to make our wealth of midfielders a strength not a weakness. This is up to the coaching team to work out the best structure for this and it seemed it worked better against the Crows. If the midfield coaches can't get it right then they need to be moved on for someone better.
  4. Zac Williams. Let's go get him please.
  5. I was chatting with a good mate of mine and we both believe that in every centre bounce we need 2 more inside players and 1 more outside player. Our thoughts on rotations would be: Inside mids - Viney, Oliver, Petracca & Harmes More outside - Brayshaw, Salem, Pickett, Melksham & Bennell We are too predictable so I would like to see more variety in our centre bounces
  6. I'd rather us play Rivers or Jordon than Jones at this point. Offers us absolutely nothing. I will always admire and be grateful to him for his role at the club in the darkest days, but he is no longer up to it.
  7. Jacko will be fine. He will beef up after 1 or 2 more pre-seasons.
  8. The problem is we don't have enough strings to our bow, other than a strong inside mid group. If the inside mid group is down then we struggle, last night being a prime example. What we are missing: 1. Leg speed - The tigers would probably have 3 or 4 players that are quicker than our quickest. 2. Pressure forwards - Fritsch, Hannan and Melksham are too similar. We should only be playing 2 of these three. 3. Precision kicking - I'd say the only players that are above average kicks are Pickett, Salem and Bennell. You could potentially throw in Fritsch and Rivers but they are borderline. We need to trade out one of our mids and get a quality outside runner. We also need to look at drafting another high pressure forwardto compliment Pickett. Too many holes to fix this season, but one good off season and another pre-season into Pickett, Rivers and Jacko will go a long way to getting this list up to scratch. We've shown we can do it when we belted the Hawks. But once top sides pressure us we go to water.
  9. A lot of sexual innuendo there... they seem like a more scarred bunch than Demonland!
  10. Gawn and Brayshaw on the podcast both getting stuck into the Hun saying it is accurate either.
  11. Only change I can see is potentially Bennell who looked like he may need a week off. Obviously there may be other players who pull up sore and assume Tomlinson, TMac, Sparrow, ANB and Rivers to be in the frame if this happens.
  12. The most frustrating thing is it happened to us all game and then I believe late in the 4th we did a similar thing and the umps decided to pay a free kick. There's no consistency at the moment and the AFL know it but have no idea what to do. The game is a complete schamozzle at the moment and is an eye sore and all the rule changes they brought in the last few years have made it worse. Both Gil and Hocking should go.
  13. Fritsch did well in the first bit to hold up the play a little but he let it go on way too long. I was yelling at the screen telling him to give the ball back and he just kept milking it. It was the right call and very undisciplined play.
  14. It will go nowhere because it is Hawthorn and the AFL wouldn't want to investigate one of their biggest clubs. Happy to pick on the minnows but too soft to go after the whales.
  15. Thought Pickett was a bit unlucky with his dangerous tackle last night, there wasn't a lot in it. Hopefully he learns from it though, as I love his aggression and just needs to learn when to back off a little.
  16. Really flat after yesterday's loss. Some key areas that were extremely frustrating. - Fritsch's discipline was disgraceful and I hope Goody called it out in the post game meeting. - The ARC review was a terrible call by the umpire and the AFL need to look at this. If it isn't related to a goal being kicked then surely they can check while play is on-going? Lever actually ran through the goal square so if it was a behind it would've been play on anyway. Just really poor umpiring and match awareness. - Missing set shots and goals from 20m out. Our composure was shocking and it isn't a new issue. When other teams don't pressure like the Hawks we can play champagne football. Once the better sides put on pressure we fall into old habits. One other point is the state of the game is just a mess, and this isn't only referring to our game. I'm getting pretty tired of watching the rugby like scrum game after game, the completely shocking umpire interpretations and the constant frees being paid for tiny infringements which for some reason aren't paid in finals. In my view the game has gone backwards under Gil and Hocking's watch and I'm becoming less and less interested in it.
  17. Gee Franklin is getting paid well to be injured! No real surprises in our list for me. Gawn obviously our best player of the last 4-5 years and deserves to be highest paid, as well as being captain of the club. I would expect his next contract will be on a reduced number so as to get our side together as much as possible over the next 5 years. Clarry already a 2 time B&F winner and all-Australian so enough said. Lever & Mar yet to justify their salaries, though they are trending in the right direction.
  18. I think we should go Tomlinson if it is to play the wing role. This is too important a game to be experimenting in the hope it works.
  19. The thing I love about him is there is no BS with Gawny and he looks to genuinely care about his teammates. I believe the culture and team first nature at the club is the best it has been since I started barracking back in the late nineties. I think it's just taking time for this to translate onto the field, though hopefully it is starting to now.
  20. I think injury lists are going to play a huge part the rest of this season. Teams with larger lists are going to really struggle to rotate their players to keep them fresh, which may result in additional injuries due to fatigue. Port and Adelaide have similar lists to us, however both North and Collingwood are really struggling on the injury front. We really need to take advantage of this period. Anything less than 3 wins in the next 5 games will be a fail in my mind. Looking through the injury lists of sides we will be playing during this condensed fixture period and they are as follows: Port Adelaide Adelaide North Melbourne Collingwood
  21. The other point to note is I believe we currently have Hawks 2nd round pick. This pick could very possibly start in the 22-25 range.
  22. So glad I claimed that name....
  23. Sicily won't play on Brown or Jackson. He's only 186cm so would get monstered. He typically plays on the 3rd or 4th tall and they use him as a distributor. I'd like to see Melksham go to him in a negating role. I'd say Frawley will get Weideman and Frost will get Brown/Jackson for the majority of the game.
  24. We've really been f'ed around the most so far. Games cancelled, moved to NSW and then to Qld. Hopefully we can still win enough games to make finals and then who knows what will happen given the only teams that will play home finals will likely be Qld, SA and WA based teams.
  25. Hawks will come out hot early on given the criticism. We will need to weather the storm and if we play to our strengths should get up by 4-5 goals.
