  1. dont think he has the tank. give him the challenge over the break and off season to build his endurance with the carrot of a regular wing spot see what happens. we need him getting to more contests in the fwd line anyway if he is not successful.
  2. If Polec leaves and Higgins who are north paying big money? They need to reach 92% of the cap. They won’t be able to attract anyone decent in the trade period with their ‘war chest’
  3. Very risky strategy. They don’t have much of a young core 22-26yo so once Goldy and Cunnington/Zeilbell are too old in a couple of years they will be in real trouble. im loving it! Tassie Ross by 2025 I reckon
  4. Yeah I know. I was more trying to point out the criteria for the award sucks. Rowell has risen to star level already amazingly, and is clearly the best kid to come through this year. So it’ll hardly be interesting seeing him win it next year. I’d want to see the next rising star come up
  5. No I’m saying he would play the HF role far better than butler. He goes fwd in most games he plays. I get the positional argument but I’m happy with this call
  6. DubDee replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couldn’t think of a player we need less
  7. Yep, the next Rhys Palmer The award means little. Rowell is clearly the biggest rising star in the game
  8. How did Rowell not win the rising star?? Clearly the best kid in the game. Played three and 3 BOGs Serong will be a solid inside mid. But could be another Rhys Palmer
  9. I get what you are saying. But if I was picking a team and had to choose. I’d choose the Bont. Butler is overrated. Not close to AA quality for me
  10. Cam Guthrie AA. Standards have slipped
  11. Reckon I’d take the Bont on the HF line over Butler. His second half if the year was poor
  12. He was playing good footy when he got injured. He would have been a chance to pick up a premiership medal this year, injury aside all the best Jack, no doubt you'll flourish in retirement from footy
  13. Also I wouldn't read too much into the club being open to offers for a player. At least half our list would be in that bracket
  14. Pruess is too one-dimensional. we need a back-up ruck who can at least play fwd a bit. We should get a second rounder for him. then trade in a young ruckman with a few preseasons under his belt, from a club with a surplus. or look to the VFL etc for a back up ruck and we come out on top trade wise.
  15. thanks for the info I do find it hard to imagine a player manager discouraging a big money trade to line his pockets though...
  16. Viney is 26yo and 5 months so he'll be 30 going into his final year of the contract, turning 31yo that year I'd love to wrap him up for his best years. I reckon he will improve and drive the group forward
  17. He’s a club champ and still playing well. No way he’ll be let go
  18. Jack’s got that ‘how did we lose to Sydney we should be playing finals next week’ - look looks how I feel
  19. He’s soft and doesn’t tackle. Can’t get a game at north. where do we sign??
  20. Some Demonlanders underestimating Jack Viney as usual. He can play a fair bit better and still came third. A good chance for another Bluey next year. For those saying he looked weird - good chance he is still filthy at himself and the team for another failed year. No one cares more than Jack
  21. Someone buy Melksham a mirror coz he needs to take a good hard look at himself. his BNF result reflects his poor year
  22. is there a general thread on trade rumours/deals involving non MFC clubs? Im wondering where Daniher might go?
  23. Well you asked to list what ways he is a good leader and I gave them. any response to my points? I reckon he could be viewed as prickly and thats ok - he sets extremely high standards for himself and everyone else. if someone didnt meet them or was messing around, I think he would crack it. I see him similar to a Buckley type personality, 'why doesnt everyone care as much as I do'? he does have improvement with leadership to go though. he needs to be able to relate to kids to be able to influence them and I am also not sure how vocal he is on and off field.
  24. is this based on anything you've heard or just gut feel? I don't think we bat deep enough through the midfield to getting rid of one of our best players. usually you would think one of our inside mids would be injured at any given time, so we need back up.
  25. by "completely new club" I think and hope he means - attitude and professionalism losing to Freo/Sydney and beating Saints/GWS shows we still have a soft underbelly. We have the talent to be 5-6th easily but our lack of killer instinct and to do whatever is necesary to win is still lacking. unload a few pea hearts and recruit/draft more lads that will do anything to win. culture shift still needed
