  1. Hate to be a grammar nazi, but a comma would change the meaning of this post.... Or, should I just say, Vagg is not!!!
  2. Ah, Mono you have restored my faith in Demonland, poetry and class. Thank you.
  3. T'was Glen Swan. He hardly kicked any other goals, finished up in 1973, thankyou, Demonwicki. Just sayin....
  4. No, he's 93, his birth certificate was FORGED.
  5. Some of my ancestors experienced similar. That happened in 1945 and Like you I’ve moved on. The Aboriginal experience is an ongoing issue. I ‘m sure they want to move on as well. You and I come from different cultures and backgrounds. Let’s not superimpose our experience onto theirs. There are No essential congruences that correlate. Have some respect , instead of expectations.
  6. You've been dealt a rather swell hand, by the sound of it. I'd rather not discuss what happened to my family, or their land, it is totally irrelevant, as is your privileged background. Ever heard of the word Compassion?
  7. You ever been invaded, man? You ever had your land declared terra Nullus? You ever been shot at by invaders who want to run sheep on your land?

Well said, Binman, I agree 100%. I can't get over the armchair critics on this site. Many of their comments border on hysteria, especially during game time when their only focus is catastrophe and blame. And, as you say, they have absolutely no respect for the simple fact the young men they criticize are simply athletes paid to do the best they can. Their world view can only embrace so-called 'winners'.
  9. All I'm saying this has nothing to do with Maguire. He's irrelevant.
  10. Love your work, Binman.
  11. WTF has this got to do with Eddie Maguire? Weidemann is a Melbourne player who has struggled with self confidence this season. Give the young man credit for his honesty and his determination to stay with the club he loves. He WILL get over this, he is a quality human being with great football ability.

Your status as a very sick man has been temporarily been put on hold. You are obviously quoting from our new recruit who has a season ending injury. Allow me to advise you that apart from yours truly only the lonely erudite know anything about this great philosopher who invented Zarathustra.

  16. Is this a term to do with Discos?
  17. lotta dem on dis sight
  18. DC: what more can I say? I fought yuo was da font of all noledges.
  19. I recall the last game against the Willies in Williamstown was shall we say rather rough and ready, most of the roug stuff coming from the hard nit Willie boys. It sounds to me Lewis stuck up for himself. Posters on this site regularly amuse me. On the one hand everyone wants players to stand up for the Max, then they take the mickey out of a bloke who doesn't take c(r) ap from biffo heroes. In the meantime regular offenders like Ablett and Fyffe walk away scot free...

    Agree with you.

I don't want to argue, but the Demons started way behind the 8 ball preparation wise with too many players - e.g.McDonald, Viney, Olive etc - still basically in recovery mode after post season surgery. I also bet the overall injury list at Richmond and Collingwood is not as long as Melbourne's.

Geez, reading some of the above you'd think the last day of the world was nigh. Keeps shirts on, lad and lasses. We are looking at a team which is totally decimated by injuries, has been all season. End of story. Get over it. Looking for scapegoats for injuries is futile.
  23. When I was fielding at fine leg - I returned that ball over the bails effortlessly - I imagined I was Captain Shultz in the U boat picking off those wealthy yachties...
  24. I played cricket there, 1967, sub-district seconds. Big ground...
  25. A fantastic speech. I wish Oskar all the best. Gee, his dad seems to know a thing or two about the game. I thought Queenslanders just squashed toads, grew bananas and voted for One Nation....
