I think Gawn is a better bet though. If you give Gawn the 3 votes on the weekend, he would've picked up 2 or 3 in the North game. Now there is some early recognition about Gawn, and he has already beaten the premier ruckman, he should be able to smash some inexperienced rucks. That should be automatic 3's. I am backing both Gawn/Viney.

I still think Petracca will win from here. Specking Oliver as well.
-
10 tackles from Trengove, that is a good sign that he is working hard. Likewise Stretch and Terlich.
-
And awareness. Writing has been on the wall for a long time. Not even a depth player now, has had plenty of time to work on glaring weaknesses and has failed to. I know it sounds harsh, but that is what separates the average players from the good/great ones.

I am not bothered about Salem, he is still a developing young kid. I will reserve judgement until Salem gets a crack at the midfield (where I think he will play his best football), but that is probably another year away. Physically he needs to develop. I think he is only down back atm because of his class, poise, decision making, and execution, we don't utilize Salem enough, that isn't his fault. The only knock on Salem is that he is getting pushed off the ball easily, but that is expected (given he isn't as developed physically). Still a kid, will be A grader in time. I have no doubt.

Garland may struggle to get back in
KingDingAling replied to leave it to deever's topic in Forum Help
Garland is a back up option now, nothing more. -
Maybe the club should have a 'Tomas Bugg fund'. Clearly he will be fined flying the flag many times. We need that. It sets a precedent and deters other teams from trying to bully and push us around (although I would argue in this instance that pushing an injured players is over the line). Bugg is necessary. Going off of a recent comment (Kane Cornes), Bugg is even still in the head of retired players. This kid is breaking people down mentally, Cotchin might not recover from this.

Well he is at least on 5. Has an easy run of ruck man coming up. Could very well be on 15-18 by the midway mark. Massive chance of winning the brownlow IMO, I am going to start offloading during the week, already into us to make the 8 at $12's, and heavily into Petracca for the rising star - which I still think he will win.
-
That is a good problem to have. I think Oliver will come in for Brayshaw, and mainly due to Brayshaw still looking (to my eye) a little underdone.
-
TAB don't think it is silly either - they halved the quote into $4.50 to make the 8 (was at $9 before this week). Considering we were largely unnoticed throughout the NAB campaign and after, this win has clearly got people talking. We are a legitimate finals contender IMO. Our list is in better shape than Port's the year they risen from the ashes. Gawn is a massive point of difference for us, he gives our mids first use, and providing we make use of Gawn, it is like having a head start on other teams.

Just putting it out there
KingDingAling replied to blue and red in the head's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would agree with that. A committed Jesse Hogan is untouchable, a homesick Jesse Hogan isn't. If he was to leave MFC for Freo, IMO he would have to be extremely homesick - because they are on the slide, whereas MFC are on the rise. It would be have to be bordering on McCarthy homesick, which in that case, I would take pick 1 and Neale.- 24 replies

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 5
KingDingAling replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Gawn - Absolute beast. Set up our offense. Gawn shows the true value of a quality ruckman, his tap work is invaluable. 5. Viney - Grunt work exceptional. Second and third efforts didn't go unnoticed, an absolute bull, a real leader of men. 4. Garlett - Forward pressure amazing, ability to kick goals when we need them - impressive. Any other day he would be BOG, top 2 had amazing days. 3. Tyson - Massive day today. Tyson is capable of big days, he is levels above his recent output, and today shown that. Great game, more of it plz. 2. Vince - Classy performer, tough as nails. 1. Kent - Continues to impress, ooozes potential - starting to deliver. Honorable mentions - Hunt, Bugg, improved game from Salem, Jetta steady. TMAC stiff to miss the votes. -
Good post mate, better knowing you've had a few beers as well
-
I think he is on the turps, and disgruntled.
-
We are relentless. Loving the $12 I'm sitting on for us to make the 8. We will make the 8.

Jack Viney's square off on Rance
KingDingAling replied to Vandenberger With The Lot's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not even a fine. Surprised to hear it mentioned. -
I agree, the umpiring today was shocking. Deplorable, hasn't been that bad since we beat Adelaide in Adelaide last year.
-
Yeah, he was good last week as well. Stepped up another notch, clearly belongs at this level.
-
That is what D.Tyson is capable of, more of it thanks. Gawn smashed it, Viney is something else (heart and soul), Garlett kicked pressure goals, it was a very solid win.
-
These umps sh*t me. That was holding in our 50.
-
Yep, he is back.
-
We bomb it in a bit too much though. It is a matter of kicking to the hot spots at the right time - which is commonsense. But we are getting better IMO. We are competitors at least.
-
And again.
-
Curb his influence and we will win. It is that simple IMO.
-
That was a mark by GAWN.
