  1. Really want to see Strauss and Evans prove themselves, I think they have untapped potential but they need to show it.
  2. Shiel and their second round pick for one of our first round picks (Chip compo maybe?).
  3. And it gives the players more to play for. It would be delicious to beat a team fair and square and watch the meltdown that ensues directly from your actions. It'll also drive them to keep up the momentum and effort, to get proper recognition for their efforts. I'm inclined to believe Richmond weren't really that bad against us, rather it was the pressure from our tackles which took a heavy toll on their players and led to turnovers, rushed behinds and overall disbelief.
  4. He definitely only fell in the draft due to his height and size. You couldn't fault him for much else. I'm so glad he and Dom are besties too!
  5. The timing of any potential re-signing for Roos is crucial. Not early enough that players relax and rest on their laurels, but early enough that it helps us re-sign current players and lure genuine talent from other clubs.
  6. Roos signs for year #3 and we'll have no problem getting good players. Not a shred of negative media about our club at the moment, everyone seems to have fallen in love with what our list is doing, and we have a clear direction whereas GWS have none.
  7. Don't look too interested Jesse!! Melbourne FC ✔ @melbournefc Follow The boys giving back to the Community, pictured here at Cranbourne East Primary. 12:23 PM - 20 May 2014
  8. So, how about that Dylan Shiel, hey?
  9. Salem's quiet game was a shame, I do think he'll have a few weeks off as player management, or go back to being sub. Be interesting to see when the VFL stats come out, should give an idea if Michie's ready to come back in or not.
  10. I've noticed a lot of close bonds forming since we started winning. More photos of players hanging out on twitter, some real camaraderie on the field, genuine affection for each other in the changerooms, etc. It's just that winning culture that breeds confidence in a team environment.
  11. Hinkley's probably more of a miracle worker, but Roos is just as capable of pulling a Port with us. He needs another few off seasons to get us the players he needs, but I'm confident if he can get us in the top half of the ladder next year he'll be seeing the job through to its natural conclusion. Caro Wilson was saying as much on the radio earlier.
  12. It's a massive turnaround from a single off season and it gives me tingles thinking what he'll be able to get with another, combined with the newfound respect we're getting from the wider AFL community. Players will see what we're building around Tyson, Salem & Viney and want to come play for our club. The terrible form of the Giants is just icing on the cake, because if they don't show any signs of improvement players will continue leaving every off season. If the rumours are true and we were in Shiel's ear last year and he was interested, imagine how he'll feel about us now. Similarly, I hope Roosy has the Swans' youth on speed dial, because the uncertainty about COLA and frozen contracts is going to be a breeding ground for discontent in their playing group. Luke Parker please!
  13. I think Matty Jones had a similarly brave endeavour not long after his brain fade turnover, so they do try to make amends when they get it wrong. That's culture!
  14. I hope the Hawks run them into the ground next week, tire them senseless for us.
  15. People are worrying about Nate Jones contract extensions? Puh-leeze... Jonesy, like Viney, will be a Demon for life. They'll be our next two captains for the forseeable future. The only reason there's so many outstanding contracts is because Roos will do a top to bottom assessment of our list at season's end and decide who he needs and who he can trade for the role players he needs. They'll also have a fair bit of the salary cap available with Clark's departure, so I imagine he's thinking of who he needs to lure from other clubs and how much money he has to do it.
  16. All I can say is what a great feeling. On cloud nine after that win, and the signs are firmly there for this team to compete. somehow don't think we'll have any trouble re-signing or luring players anymore.
  17. Gerard would be feeling very vindicated right now. Tweeted as such.
  18. Dawes hasn't had ONE hand in the back paid to him, the umpiring is [censored] pathetic.
  19. Brown paper bag to the umps at the break from the Tigers. Disgraceful, cherry picking holding the ball NOW, to help the Tigers.
  20. JKH ruined that, we had everything going for us.
  21. The Bulldogs had an injury last week after making their sub as well, didn't make much of a difference. Please dig deep!
  22. Familiar feeling being in front at 3QTR time and losing it all in the 4th. Please, PLEASE boys, see this one out and get the choccies for your brilliant effort!!!
  23. The commentators blowing their load over the Dees, nice to hear. Can't believe this turnaround in only one off-season. Then again, I've long thought Richmond are the great pretenders.
  24. Come ON!!! We need to put them away NOW!!!
