  1. No doubt. Michie has been dropped and Riley hasn't been in the seniors yet, they have to earn it. Even Hogan will. I'm surprised Salem slipped to #9 when so many teams had him rated so highly. Is this just the lousy Giants recruitment strategy?
  2. Really want to see Kent and Riley back in the seniors. I'm predicting Salem will start either next week or the week after (perhaps full game in the VFL next week and full game for MFC the week after), and Riley will replace him as our starting sub. He'd be a great injection of defensive pressure in the fourth quarter with games in the balance. Kent should slot right back in at the first sign of an injury though. Terlich to be rested next week following his concussion?
  3. We'll really start seeing the effects of this trade next year when both have games under their belt, and both are in our starting 22. With another trade season, Roos will bring in new players to send M. Jones, Terlich, Bail, Byrnes (OOC?) and Pedo down to the seconds. As for D. Tyson, don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think we may have found the next superstar of the game. This kid will flourish under Roos, and once he perfects his kicking he'll be one of our most important players.
  4. GWS are awful without Mummy in. Scully an absolute [censored], turnover merchant; literally makes their team worse. Bring on the player exodus please! Must be miserable for those talented young players, drafted to a team with no history or culture with no supporters, playing in the badlands of a city where nobody cares about AFL, with nobody bothering to show up and watch you play every week. I think any Victorian player who grew up dreaming of playing for an AFL team would be desperate to get back to Victoria and run out on the MCG every other week for a Melbourne based team.
  5. Is it past Robbo to just make something like this up purely as a cross-promotional opportunity to get viewers watching 360 on Monday night?
  6. I'd rather be supporting a team where 16 point losses hurt more than 100 point floggings.
  7. That game hurts like hell. I can't complain about the umpiring, although clearly the match winning goal was a blatant umpire gift and completely undeserved, BUT we had our chances with M. Jones and he failed to deliver on what should have been a bloody easy goal. We also got favoured by the umps all night, so if that stupid free kick was the compensation, it was a small price to pay. Fact is, we don't have the quality or the class JUST yet, but by god we're making strides. Put it this way, when was the last time a loss genuinely hurt this badly? That's a much better feeling than being flogged by a hundred points every freaking week, isn't it?
  8. [censored] YOU YOU GREEN MAGGOTS! THAT'S [censored] RIDICULOUS!
  9. This must be the most equally contested game of football in years.
  10. And yes, their freaking goals are VERY FREAKING ANNOYING!!!! We're converting much cleaner than they are.
  11. Well, ultimately if we lose this we have nobody to blame except ourselves. Can't complain about the umpiring because I think we've been dealt a very fair (and quite generous) hand tonight.
  12. Well, ultimately if we lose this we have nobody to blame except ourselves. Can't complain about the umpiring because I think we've been dealt a very fair (and quite generous) hand tonight.
  13. We've pretty much dominated in every way, yet the scores are practically even. Half of the Bulldogs goals have been absolute flukes. Really infuriating.
  14. Oh god that Minson kick was absolute horseshit. 15 metres MY ASS. But we're in front, and that's a rarity at 3QTR time. And that rule that pings a free AGAINST Crossy when he's going in for the ball but has his head collected by a knee? [censored] RIDICULOUS.
  15. Surely tonight is Salem's last week as the starting sub? Would rather he play 3 opening quarters and get subbed OFF for Riley next week, if anything.
  16. Also Jetta is impressing me, he brushed off that Bulldogs player (now injured) who was tackling him like he was a piece of lint on a suit jacket.
  17. Dawes struggling to get a mark because opposition are double teaming him, been a problem since we beat Carlton. I do feel like we're on top of this in every way except the scoreboard. We're controlling the flow of play, and the Bulldogs are only scoring when they break through our pressure. But we need another few goals right now just to keep momentum in our favour.
  18. No change, very interesting. So only Garland for Georgiou compared to last week. Looking good!
  19. That might be the end for Strauss if serious. I really like that kid but some players are just too injury prone.
  20. Could be the most inspired combination in footy if they worked together with the team for a few years and focused on different things, while coming up with a conjoined game plan that suits both offence and defence.
  21. Well given the way we fell away against Adelaide in the second half, it sounds like a mirror image of that game.
  22. Makes you wonder if the Tigers are just a toxic environment?
  23. Tappy is a monster unit, his development has been hurt by injury. Really hope he can flourish under Roos, he could be a great presence on the field if he lived up to his potential.
  24. Interesting what they both have in common, considering our opposition next week... could it be a sign?
  25. Would certainly make quite the trifecta after the week we've had.
