  1. Jakey Best will be missed. He has AFL qualities but just doesn't find it enough. Is he back playing cricket at South Melbourne?
  2. RPFC or TDI: If you were to go out on a limb, which of our draftees can you see being in the mix for round 1? I know there's a bit of water to pass under the bridge, but you read different training reports and you see each of Petracca, Brayshaw, Neal-Bullen, Stretch, Oscar Mac, etc. get wrapped up by different posters. What are your thoughts?
  3. Frawley will have one job at Hawthorn next year. He will be expected to beat a gorilla one on one, something he is very good at. He won't be relied upon to win his own footy, create run and hit targets further a field. He will have so much quality around him that will be able to provide that. I hate to say it but I think he will be successful at Hawthorn in 2015.
  4. Thanks TDI. How much do the new draftees integrate into drills with the main group? Do they still predominantly work separately or are they spending a larger % of their time working with the rest of the list?
  5. How appropriate that Christian Petracca and Angus Brayshaw are rooming together up on the Gold Coast for the draft. Let's hope it's the first time of many that they will share a room over the next 15 years.
  6. Yep, Jake's doing some training at the club at the moment.
  7. A big question mark Port had over Ben Newton was his running capacity. He has never had a big tank, or any tank to speak of. Let's hope a massive preseason assists him here.
  8. Pick 53 I would suggest. As many on here have mentioned the PSD is just about irrelevant. You either get blokes onto your list in a trade, at the Nov draft or as a FA or DFA. McClure suggested that we were looking at paying him out. So that would give us picks 2, 3 ,40 and 53 and 2 rookie spots as live picks.
  9. The club is in discussions with Michael Evans and his management right now about potentially terminating his contract. Stay tuned. Source: Sam McClure on 3AW.
  10. I was Nicho's 2nd tier sponsor. (The club actually rang me when he was delisted prior to it being released to the media.) I got told the same stuff as markc about selecting a player for 2015. For my $2,200 I got: 2 x tickets to the season launch 2 x Bluey tickets 2 x invites to a President's Club lunch 2 x passes to after-match Sponsor's Function with players 1 x framed/signed photo of yourself with your player 1 x signed team photo 1 x MFC pin
  11. You'd be right there. I noted that you get so much more for your buck. It's worth paying the extra coin.
  12. There are 3 levels of sponsorship which all have different entitlements. The costs were as follows in 2014, give ot take $100: 1. $1,100 2. $2,200 3. $5,000
  13. I have been a player sponsor for the last 2 years. It's been a fabulous experience and a great way to get a little bit closer to the club. I have been a part of the Demon BigFooty sponsorship of players in the past. Obviously the more punters involved the less money they each pay, but individually you get very little in return. Leon McConville is the man you need to speak to. He does a great job of putting it all together. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/the-club/experiences/player-sponsors
  14. Jake will spend a large chunk of next year playing under his old man at Peninsula Grammar. I'm looking forward to watching him play as a senior ager at the Stingrays.
  15. If you're snooping around training this week keep an eye out for Jake Lovett. He has been doing some training down the club with Todd Viney.
  16. Who drafts a KPF with the expectation that they will perform consistently in their first year or two????
  17. Fitzy's make or break year in 2015. We've seen what he can do in small doses. Time to back the kid in.
  18. I see Febes, Whitey, Chell, Riggers, Anthony McDonald, Steve Powell, Brucey, Robbo, Heffers, Shanners, Biz, Balls Grinter, Toddy, Godders, Hoppy, Ingo, TJ, Millsy, Junior, Riv, Ooze, Neita and Doggy Brown, plus a few coaches and assorted staff. Great pic!
  19. Yeah, I get the feeling Bernie will wake up with a sore head, a significantly lighter wallet and very much damaged pride in the morning.
  20. I think Bernie will cop it in the neck over this. Yes, he should have known better. But gees I get frustrated at the over-sensitised, politically correct society we live in today.
  21. I can't believe that anyone would lose any sleep over what a drunken, yobbo footballer would tweet about a horse.
