  1. You do realise these horses are actually bred to race???They are look after exceptionally well and are often treated like a member of the family. Very occasionally, and very sadly, these beasts do meet an unfortunate end. But the same thing happens in pony clubs and on farms every day.
  2. Dead horse is rhyming slang for tomato sauce. (Hence the Heinz connection.)
  3. Do the senior blokes start back tomorrow?
  4. The bloke makes a slightly insensitive remark about a horse after a million beers and the politically correct do-gooders find someone to pay out on for 24 hours. Get a life.
  5. Hang him. Seriously, who gives a [censored]???
  6. His vid looks impressive. That left foot looks great. Good break-away speed. I know his bio says this but there really is a lot of Nicky Dal about him. His name seems to have popped up a bit just in the last day or two. Has anyone seen him play?
  7. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.. I'm happy we got pick 3 for him but Chip will be missed.
  8. You mean the game where he kept Liam Jones to one possession in the first 3 quarters??? I agree he went through the motions at times this year but he was far from our worst.
  9. Jacko certainly has his hands full. 18 clubs all wanting their pound of flesh. The club getting on the front foot is certainly preferred.
  10. Nowhere else in the world are struggling, unfinancial clubs propped up by the governing body. They either have their license taken from them or are relegated.
  11. Sorry. I'll run all posts by you before putting them on here next time.
  12. I'm not sure what the answer is. But while the AFL keep lining our pockets the Carltons, Collingwoods, Richmonds and Essendons will feel entitled to the home gates in crowd drawing games. The only way that we can possibly overcome this is to win games of footy. We need to find a way.
  13. It will be tough watching Chip play in the poo and wee next year. He was one of the few that rarely let us down.
  14. Agreed Macca. I'll just say this and then I'll leave it alone. The AFL is ever evolving. Your stats show that we have been overlooked in the past for the big 4 regardless of results. If we start winning and generate excitement people will come and so to, will the big games. We'll never get Carlton's 7 Friday night games but 3 in 2016 after a much improved 2015 would help the bottom line no end.
  15. Those of us old enough to live through the late 80's, 90's and early 2000's know that a winning MFC brings people through the gates. We start winning again and we'll get some bigger games. I know money can bring success but we have no one to blame for our fixture but ourselves.
  16. Here's an idea. Let's start winning some games so we're not a commercial embarrassment. If we don't get a better draw then start complaining.
  17. Thanks for the update. And in recent news MFC has just signed Mitch Clark from Brisbane in a 4 year deal. What a coup for the club.
  18. That list is carrying a 3-4 blokes but for the first time in a long time when I sit down to write out my best 22 I don't have 10 blokes under the heading 'Not up to it'.
  19. Whilst having these blokes on our list is not ideal I'm not sure that they will be the determining factor in how many games we win. I'm pretty sure the other end of our list will have more bearing on that. I don't know many clubs that go 38 players deep.
  20. This article would suggest Ben is fairly advanced in discussions with a particular club. One would assume, if you believe Peter Ryan who is a Melbourne man, that the club is us. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/dumped-port-adelaide-midfielder-ben-newton-hopes-to-find-a-new-afl-home-before-the-national-draft/story-fnia6ojc-1227108439819
  21. One would hope we have a number of coaches developing the players at our club. The amount of Geelong past and present players who came out and had pot shots at the Dogs over their handling of McCartney suggests to me that he had a huge influence at their club. Essendon were shattered to lose him when they did too. Running the show is a tough gig. Now he gets to do what he does best, teach kids how to play footy.
