Has anyone else thought of Chris Dawes being reinvented as a key backman? I've always been a big critic of him playing forward as he doesn't present well, doesn't mark much, hardly a goal kicker. But there's always someone to remind me that he puts on pressure, chases, tackles and all that crap that personally I don't rate a key forward on. But with Fitzpatricks seemingly successful move down back I thought maybe they could try this with Dawes. With a backline of McDonald, Garland, Fitzpatrick it got me thinking that non of them really have the big body to take on the 'gorilla' forwards like we had when Frawley was around. When Frost comes back he will most likely play forward, Pederson is in good form up there and we will riot if Hogan gets left out. Where does Dawes ever come back in. Dawes is capable of at least contesting against the likes of Cloke, Roughead and Hawkins. We know he can bring the ball to ground. Then he can do all the chasing and tackling he likes. Gotta be worth a try, otherwise he'll be a very expensive VFL forward in the last year of his contract next year and worthless at the trade table.

He was second level right on the end of the Olympic stand where it meets the southern stand. He had to have a second go at because we got a goal halfway through his first attempt

Hogan has gotta be a red hot chance of being this weeks nominee

The decisions coming out of the backline have been putrid. Not being helped by the players presenting up the ground though

Umpiring has been a joke so far. How many time is Roughead gonna make front on contact with Hogan in a contest and Hoges not getting a free

Garry owes nothing to this club. He did his time and service with distinction. He was the leader and face of the club for years. He gave his back to club which is something that will hinder him the rest of his life. His job now is in the media and not at the club. Garry clearly still loves the club. I will happily admit that I watch the footy show and listen to him on triple m footy and he always goes into bat for the Dees every time he can but he is still honest about where they're at and how they're travelling. You can tell how much he hurts just like us when the club is failing on field. Garry Lyon is not the one to blame for where the club is at

I think Ro Bail or matt jones pending VFL form may be called on to fill that half forward spot Nev Jetta (concussion) may also miss if Paul Roos pres conference is anything to go by, likely replacement would be former skipper Jack Grimes Anyone else likely to get a look in? Thoughts

6 days a week of anything football still a lot better then 6 days a week on a building site. Pro footballers don't know the first thing about doing it tough. They get paid way more then enough and get plenty of paid annual leave. Their work to reward ratio is well higher then the average punter. I know I'd trade in everything I do for the life of an athlete

Dawes is useful for giving the forward line structure and yes he chases and puts on pressure but he is on $500k a year. At that price tag he needs to be a marking power forward who more importantly then any other forward line roles, needs to kick some bloody goals.
