  1. I've heard it all now. People aren't robots, they have impulses. All marriages have ups and down. Most work through the issues, some walk away from it.
  2. It's easy for another club to use this as a selling point. Howe has been given every opportunity to cement a position up forward, but has failed to do so due to his lack of consistency. The same applies to Jack Watts. In an ideal world, you don't need adaptable players. Basically it means that they can't master a position. If Howe and Watts have currency, I'm happy to trade.
  3. The Dogs Dad's Army backline consists of Boyd, Morris and Murphy. If they're prepared to let Michael Talia go, that's a red flag for me. Watched the VFL game on Saturday, and he was bog ordinary.
  4. Can't question his workrate or courage, and has neat skills when given time. But the kid's football brain seems to be 2 steps below AFL standard. Even at VFL level, he struggles with decision making in contested situations. Like Deeko said, I struggled to see what skillset he had that translated to AFL standard, let alone warranting a high draft pick.
  5. So that means that there are 27 better players on our list. That makes Melksham a fringe player at a poor club, as he is at Essendon.
  6. If Prestia was serious about leaving GC this year, he'd make it known as other contracted players have done (Boyd, Redden, McCarthy). He's even made a point of saying that he'll play out his contract at GC, so why would anyone believe otherwise?
  7. It all depends on what we give up for him and his contract. I don't want to give up a 2nd round pick (25ish) for a depth player, nor do I want to have a depth player on a 3/4 year contract. I just don't see Melksham as offering any more than another fringe player in Grimes.
  8. Did you feel the same way about Terlich and M. Jones when they finished in the top 5 in 2013? At the end of the day, we won 7 games and lost 15 and need to get better.
  9. When I read that Melksham knocked back a 2 year deal at Essendon, I thought he's insane. When I read that we have offered him a 4 year deal, I knew we're incompetent. Ranks with Pederen's 3 year deal for stupidity.
  10. With free agency and a more active trade period, age profile is one of the more useless stats in football. Top teams top up with ready made players, whilst bottom clubs keep going to the well with young draftees.

Let's get Liam Jurrah back then. Have you asked yourself why Geelong are getting rid of him? With the addition of Dangerfield and Henderson the Cats may well be challenging for a top 4 position next year, and yet they don't want to retain a "modern day legend". He's a lair who wants to play the game on his terms.
  12. I can assure you that this was fact up until a couple of months ago. I can't dictate what happened to his relationship since.
  13. His girlfriend from WA has moved here to be with him. She was working at a cafe next to my work, so had a few Jesse sightings. Unfortunately the cafe has closed down.
  14. Even if you morphed Pederson, Dawes and Fitzpatrick into one footballer, you'd get neither a 2nd ruckman nor a 2nd forward. If Kreuzer wasn't such a crock, I'd have him in a heartbeat.
  15. What makes you so sure that Cruiser will be a Demon?
  16. I don't think he does because they're totally different players. At Casey, Harmes played a fair bit on the ball, and I see him developing into an onballer who can rotate up forward. Kent on the other hand is a pure outside player, who's predominantly used up forward. I can't see Kent as an inside mid.
  17. But you also need the player to have at least one above average skill that translates to AFL football, otherwise you have a team full of Jordie McKenzies.
  18. People blaming the GC culture for Bennell's actions are kidding themselves. Matthew LLoyd mentiond that Bennell was kicked off an International Under-17's tour, which suggests he had issues before he joined GC. He also had disciplinary issues in his 1st season at GC. Bennell is clearly in the class of Kerr and Cousins on and off the field. The question remains whether the new player illicit drug code will weed him out of the AFL, whereas Kerr, Cousins and some current players had been able to get away with the "party" lifestyle undetected.
  19. Of all the mids on our list (excluding Petracca), Newton seems like the most legitimate forward/mid. He's a player that could add a lot when the team's playing well. And we desperately need players that can hit the scoreboard regularly.
  20. Are you calling him a spud?
  21. It does define the fact that Bennell isn't committed to being an elite sportsperson.
  22. Stretch isn't a long penetrating kick, but his foot skills aren't poor. He's a neat kick who generally hits his target. Howe on the other hand has average foot skills. And how anyone could have Kent as a list filler is beyond me.
  23. Ironically, you're quick to stick the boots into Lumumba every chance you get. The facts are that we need to get better, and despite Grimes being able to rack up possessions in recent weeks, he's still been average when under pressure. Even you would have cringed when he dropped that sitter in the 1st qtr which resulted in a goal. White showed good composure for a 1st gamer, and played a position that Grimes has occupied for some time. Grimes is out of contract, so DD's comment was not unreasonable.
