  1. Well done Don for orchestrated the most noble, chivalrous and altruistic move in recent MFC history. We had no resources, no money, no hope; after Don's sacrifice we now have everything we want direct from the AFL. A wise man indeed.
  2. Well everybody, if the AFL itself can't get us playing league-standard footy in the next few years then it will confirm what we all suspect: Norm Smith is indeed still haunting us.
  3. You commend Neeld for sticking to structures for a forward line setup that he is awaiting. One could argue the exact opposite and say he is crazy to be so stubborn, inflexible and idealistic to sacrifice games in preparation for a forward line that may never get on the park. It sounds like a fantastic get out of jail card. It's really hard at this point to believe in what he is saying.
  4. We don't deserve it anymore. I think many blockbuster matches should be rotated or more intelligently scheduled. Give Hawthorn v Geelong something; they never disappoint. Anzac Day match should be the premiers from the year before. Whatever happens the random timeslots (320?!? When did that become a game time) are really putting me off watching neutral games.
  5. Who exactly did McKenzie stop yesterday?
  6. Probably because playing in a Collingwood intra club is more challenging than playing the MFC.
  7. Ablett Jnr I'd take over Hird and Buckley. On par with Voss and Judd.
  8. Rubbish argument. Having CEOs/Boards of diehard Demons time after time justs leads to relapses. It's time to inject fresh blood into this corpse. The mythical 'great business leaders' that supposedly barrack for MFC are smart enough to keep well away from this husk. We can't rely on them to come forward because we might be dead by then. The fact that people on Demonland want David Schwartz anywhere near this club just goes to show how daft some MFC supporters can be. And if you'd like to label my argument specious like everyone else who disagrees with you, don't bother, it just confirms what we all know: rpfc has a dictionary.
  9. Jesus you nuffie lefties, stop arguing with Ben Hur, he loves it.
  10. You can build a whole team around a superstar; Ablett, LeBron, Buddy, Lionel. Last full moon I sacrificed a goat to the great war god Odin, and whispered the name "Jesse" to the breeze.
  11. Just whispers. Not any reports yet.
  12. Ratten got our midfield playing very well (cue the revisionists), I would value that highly, as I would Williams' premiership. However, I remember hearing about the way Mark Williams left for Richmond last year, and it confirmed that he is not exactly a professional in this day and age.
  13. Staggered people want Mark Williams over Brett Ratten.
  14. Didn't mention Gillies, which is truly horrible recruiting. Decent article though.
  15. Fitting that this happens in the week of the 'Red Wedding' in HBO's Games of Thrones. Honestly hope it's a similar result in that board meeting. Widespread incompetence on and off field. Little sympathy for anyone who loses their position today. The club is on its knees.
  16. We must have taken Minister Guy out for lunch.
  17. Yeah, it's really strange how angry we get at these guys with 20% winning percentages.
  18. I hate this revisionism re: Port. 'Pinched' a flag? They were minor premiers three years straight before winning a flag, and had an awesome list. Josh Francou is probably the most underrated player of the modern era. Mark Williams will have to do something very different with the hopeless list Bean and Nark have assembled.
  19. Whether Neeld is coaching the MFC or Collingwood's midfield again, we will get smashed.
  20. There's a first time for everything: I liked your post and 100% agree with you. I've got a 2002 MFC jumper behind me with the signatures of guys like Woey, Yze, Leoncelli, Jnr McDonald, and I didn't know how good I had it back then.
  21. Hird and board still to go. Systematic cheating. Bye bye.
  22. The defence was great. Terlich, Sellar, Garland and even Frawley were really good given the midfield delivery. Jones and Magner were really good. Bail/Nicholson/Strauss still aren't convincing me. Dawes really let us down in the 3rd quarter when we needed him. Sorry, but he did. He loses intensity in the final few steps when approaching the ball. Highlight of the game was Jamar kicking Vickery square in the balls. Nice to see MFC tackling and trying for once.
