  1. F*** It is the best course of action given our win-loss predicament though. One has to ask the question, why all of a sudden is a KPP getting OP?
  2. If this happens my prediction: YM will have to buy a new pair of pants No rivers is a concern, but i'd rather he miss 6 games now, and then play 22 games next year with a full pre-season
  3. one of the stranger things ive read on this site
  4. good point bub ... white could be a fantastic midfielder in the goodes mould ... we just need a ruckman of the 200+cm 105kg variety.
  5. Fantastic post graz, agreed with everything OTDB ... i love how you are positive about everyone from the bootstudder to the coach, but you need to see the big picture. Cam is a very good player but he isn't the next captain. leadership group maybe, but brock should be the next captain next year. cam can stay in the leadership group because he will run all day and plays for the jumper but he isn't a leader in the mould of brock, and it is that leadership that we so desperately need. (fwiw as recently as this years pre-season i was in the bruce for next captain camp, but brock is the man)
  6. so which one is it? on one hand you say stats are not the same as influence, but then you say that because he had the same number of stats in the last as he did the 3rd that his influence is the same????
  7. his best quarter was the last! 11 possessions and goal. he was pivotal in getting us back into the game!
  8. So in your eyes wardy had as much influence on the game as bruce did? ward was near BOG? wow
  9. Dont worry, when a hard bodied team win the flag this year, our boys will be in the gym as part of the usual "follow the leader" strategy in place currently.
  10. He's on one leg. There is no doubt that he came back too early, because of his importance. So far this season he has played 1 game (round 1) fully fit. IF you come back to early then you end up playing catch-up for the next 3-4 games in order to get touch, fitness and confidence in the injury. Judge Neita in 4 weeks, not now.
  11. Jon Anderson put 3 SOO teams in the HUN today for Vic, SA, WA Victorian team: B: wirrapanda, scarlett, gilbee HB: hodge, goodes, heath shaw C: dal santo, bartel, lappin (played very few games this season) HF: o'keefe, brown, brad johnson F: GAJ, fevola, hall R: fraser, judd, brent harvey I: lucas, luke power, RYAN MURPHY, rob harvey Ryan Murphy has played 1 game for the season for no impact, yet a guy like Cameron Bruce cant get into the team. Ridiculous if you ask me. I know we're 0-7 but this sort of [censored] just riles me. we can be 7-0 and not respected. FWIW there are no dees in any team and you could argue that case quite well but if muppets like murphy and farmer (yeah that's right the guy who is too busy assaulting people and probably wont play more than 8 games this season and hasn't played yet is in the WA team) are getting games i just wonder.
  12. Whelan, brock and pettard wont play. if they were ready they'd be named on the ground. I'm getting very concerned about rivers ... how about the club come out for once and tell us what the f*** is going on, instead of treating us with the usual 'it is a one week late withdrawl hammy" crap. it is not like it is round 21 and we are fighting for a top 4 spot. we're 0-7 for christ's sake. Rest Moloney till he is right - if that is round 1 2008 well so be it. do the OP operation if need be ala powell
  13. you cant fault bruce on his application, his work ethic, his willingness to do the team things (i.e. negative roles), or his commitment (just because he isn't brock mclean doesn't mean he doesn't get his own ball, and go when he needs to). unforetunately for cam his kicking in recent times is one thing you can criticise. he will finish his career having at least been AA once and probably a B&F
  14. Shame about Petterd. Green in for him. would love to see frawley get a run. Holland wont play ... no one to play on
  15. So moloney, sylvia and bell are now ruined players? rubbish. utter tripe and moorecroft was anygood to begin with?
  16. If i see any more threads about Jolly, Armstrong, Thompson et al, I think I am going to puke. Get over it. We have to move forward with the list we have, rather than worrying about spilt milk, especially when the milk spilt itself. The reality of these trades were: Thompson - was treated like a king at the MFC, albeit an injured one. He was our no 1 midfielder in 04 before he broke his foot. It was no suprise that when he went down, we went down too. He wanted to go home, there was nothing we could do. Jolly - Seeing the current form that Jamar is in, it is an indictment on Jolly that he was overtaken in late 2004 by Jamar. The fact that we picked a raw jamar in the final over the more experienced yet still young Jolly says a lot. At the time we had 3 ruckman, with Jolly 3rd in the pecking order, and with Sydney willing to give up a 1st rounder. At the time who could say no? Arma - A blossoming career at the MFC was definately impacted by the tragic bombings in Bali. He never recovered and wasn't able to make the most of the opportunities given. He was shopped around but the right price couldn't be found. In the end he was only rookied by WCE and only played last year because Sampi is Sampi and Matera retired. Good luck to arma, he has been through a lot, but he wasn't going to be an important player at the club. As for the 'look at him now kicking goals at WCE' argument, Neitz would kick 150 goals at west coast such is the service their forwards get. Simmonds - wanted to go to get more game time so he wanted to move on. At the time we got a ready made CHB when we were clearly lacking KPP defenders. it was just our luck that he did his knee at the business end of the season. Bishop - part of a trade that got us powell, who was very good for us for a few years interspersed with awful injuries. Bishop was never going to make us a premeirship team. Good player no doubt but hardly bookend material. Farmer - see thompson
  17. haha check out the last 3 Prominent fans and the last brownlow winner.
  18. Are you kidding? 1) nobody can ruck all game 2) white is so much better than PJ it is not funny 3) PJ cant ruck fullstop 4) if white gets slaughtered then what do you think would happen to PJ PJ and jamar are not good enough. there is no two ways about this. at the moment it is finding who is 'less bad' at the time and attempting to utilise their 'less bad' attributes you're on the money RR
  19. This is getting really tiring. THe number of threads on BB and the spate of injuries is ridiculous and all are completely unfounded. The injury list is full of collision sort of injuries. If you want to see a lot of soft tissue injuries then look at st kilda. We have more broken bones than i can remember. Another is a corked calf (brown - nothing to do with the fitness regime), and another 2 are reoccuring injuries (moloney and sylvia). whelan wouldn't even have played on the weekend had we had more than 10 fit people on the list to choose from. So therefore there are 3 soft tissue injuries with no cause that could potentially be attributed to conditioning, this is not a high number at all. On another note what is this about green? why haven't we heard this already?
  20. good effort mate, yze? for me: finally our best
  21. Good post. As you say it shows where we are at. Today they gave their all, but that just makes the tripe they put out in round 1 in particular so much worse. I thought 4 years ago we were supposed to get ruthless?
  22. THere is nothing wrong with your philosophy, but i dont get why you cant understand that we are in dire circumstances at the moment, and we dont have the depth to cover for dropping him. THis week we could conceivably lose whelan, brown, jones. Say bell and wheatley with his one arm get up, and that TJ with his hammy and moloney with his OP dont get up, who do you replace those 3 with? Rivers may play. Petterd will play. CJ will play. Who else? Ferguson? Not up to it. Warnock? not up to it. Newton? He'll get eaten by the swans. Buckley? I'd rather Bate play than debut 2 guys at once against one of the best 2 teams in the last 2 years. We dont have the numbers at the moment to be dropping people. If we get 25 fit men to play this week it will be a minor miracle.
