  1. you're right, ordinarily this would take place. however this aint no ordinary situation. bate will play next week, simply because there is no one else. He is a good kid and will be a good player, currently he is struggling, and we dont have the luxury of boosting his confidence at a lower level. Petterd will play next week, that is a given, but so too will bate.
  2. Best game ooze has played for years. I have never seen him put in 2nd, 3rd and 4th efforts the way he did today. I have never seen him so exhausted that he cant run anymore. Today i swear today he looked like he was gonna chuck a couple times such was the effort he was putting in. Please do it next week adem, it was fantastic to see.
  3. another thing which i forgot to add to the orginal post. david neitz did his knee in round 2 and was expected to be 3-4 weeks, making his return around round 5-6. today the doc says another 2-3 weeks. making his return rounds 7-8. Brock did his foot in round 1 and was expected to be out for 6 weeks, making his return around round 7 (in fact i read an article on afl.com.au saying how he was progressing well and would maybe only miss 5 weeks), so then i almost rear-ended the car in front on the way home today when the doc says brock will be another 4 weeks. what the hell is going on? are the estimations given the club complete and utter crap? or does the doc not know what he's talking about?
  4. His antics were a bit ridiculous IMHO
  5. Next week we will be without: Neitz Robbo Brock Whelan Bell Jones Brown Moloney Bartram with the a good chance that neither TJ and Rivers will play given the nature of their injuries (unknown and reoccuring respectively) How does one cover such a huge group of players? But it brings about a question, why dont we bottle it up more? How the hell were we going to get close with an open gameplan? especially as they have two of the best KPP forwards in the league. I dont understand how we had a chance of winning a 130 vs 90 shootout, when we needed a 11 goal slog
  6. I dunno if it will be that wet, not much rain to come ( http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR022.loop.shtml ) and the 'G drains very well. I'm pretty sure moloney wont play, you cant risk him. If we were 2-1 or even 1-2, he wouldn't have even been named IMO. as for TJ, i think you have to play him, unless sylvia is fully right to go. put him as a forward, and hope to get a few goals out of him. it is just bruising, i suspect they'll inject, because unlike moloney the capacity to do more damage by playing will be much less.
  7. whilst i have no reason to doubt you mate, is this a hunch or is it inside word?
  8. so let me get this straight ... we have Carroll, bizz and wheatley to cover potentially pavlich, tarrant and mcpharlin (good chance he'll play forward due to our lack of tall forwards). Pavlich for dreamteam captain it is.
  9. Spot on Rhino, just a farce, complete farce.
  10. Thankgod, first piece of good news for the season!
  11. Out of interest RR, who would you like to see coach the MFC next year?
  12. may have no choice given the length of the casualty ward waiting list. you'd think we'd have a debutant in the next two weeks, be it pettard or buckley
  13. so you're blaming a broken leg (Robbo), a MCL (neita), broken foot(brock), broken hand (TJ), another knee(bartram) on the fitness dude? geez we are getting desperate for a scapegoat now. the only 2 guys who you could potentially lay blame towards, if you were desperate, are rivers and weetra. moloney and sylvia have had problems which stem from way before BB's time at the club.
  14. OK OK so we could quite conceivably this weekend be without... -our best forward, who is our best leader -our second best forward -our most skilled midfielder -our most promising midfielder, who is also our second best leader -our hardest player -our best defender -our best tagger (it says alot that he is on 19 y.o.) holy cow, i dont know what to say.
  15. IN: pickett, dunn, CJ, rivers, OUT: wheatley, brown, godfrey, holland/PJ/jamar (take your pick, none of them are going to win a game for us) would love to see pettard play, but i doubt they would throw a raw kid into the mix when we are on our knees and with the knife against our throat.
  16. so davey and godfrey had twice the impact of bruce? and paul johnson 4 times the influence? shanked kicks or not i must have been watching another game. moloney had 1 very good quarter and then was invisible for a half until he got injured.
  17. agree with all of this except the yze bit. he was far from our worst today, and yes he made some bad mistakes, but i generally thought his application was better today. please get dunn, pickett, CJ, rivers back into the team and get rid of wheatley, brown, ferg and godfrey
  18. was definately no worse than some of the other blokes down there. however i'm no so sure we want to make him into a defender, ala nicholson. it will take a long time and along the way they'll be some shockers. putting rivers back into that defence will make some difference, and once fit i'd like to see frawley get a crack, but PJ showed a small glimpse today.
  19. not bad joeboy, ill have a go Whelan - wasn't highly effective Carroll - was beaten generally Ferguson - sat on pine Ward - didnt give much Wheatley - not best 22 Bell - love his endeavor Johnstone - better than previously McDonald - nothing special Moloney - faded after start Miller - needed to convert Green - good pseudo FF Davey - invisible Jones - love his guts Jamar - had enough Holland - sat with fergy White - had a shocker*** Godfrey - enoguh is enough Bate - didn't give much Bruce - our best easily Brown - gave us little Johnson - future CHB perhaps? yze - far from worst *** won the ruck but was annihilated around the ground, and have never seen him make so many errors.
  20. I have never seen a team with worse footskills than i did today, and not only that, their decision making was deplorable, as well as their willingness to run and shephard and do all the small things. no team will win a game of football, with holland, ferg, jamar, godfrey, miller, brown, ward i'm not sure what we as a football club are aiming to achieve when we are using godfrey as an offensive midfielder. heart or no heart, his skills lets you down every time.
  21. ANY gameplan would be a start. and seeing as though the bulldogs didn;t have any tall timber last year, i think given our cattle on the park situation, their gameplan might be a start.
  22. According to the Doc, Robbo had an arthroscope today, which revealed he has a small crack in his tibia bone as well as the knee injury. should be out for the same period however. was supposed to be a bombshell, but if he is out for the same period it hardly seems like a bombshell
  23. you beat me to it condemned. after seeing the team i must say i'm dreading the papers on monday.
  24. Most weeks by about thurs or friday i get excited and truly believe we can win. this week however i cant see how we will get close to geelong. No rivers, neita, brock, sylvia, byron, robbo, bartram. which is 7 starting 18 players. watch out all time turnover record.
  25. if chapman plays forward bell will take him and i've got every confidence in him giving us a real contest.
