  1. bad game yes, career has stalled??? way to be overdramatic. he is a second year kid FFS. and before you criticise with your usual "say it in 3 words" retort ... "very bad game", "provided no impact",
  2. bartram to do a job. i dunno why you love valenti so much. essendon are quick, and valenti is slow. wont work. if PJ cant stand up this week and give us a contest then it says a lot about his future at the club. warnock despite constant flow of the blow down there has been very good this year. has really improved. he will be a loss tomorrow. would have been perfect for the "bulked" up lloyd. lloyd may have too many smarts for martin ...
  3. i wouldnt bet on it. didn't fraser give him a bath around the ground in round 2 along with spencer?
  4. dont be so sure ... malthouse loves playing ducks and drakes...he could easily play.
  5. thats all well and good but you gotta get into university and if he wants to do a course that requires him to work his butt off then who are a bunch of internet posters to suggest that vce is not important. you (not you specifically nasher) may not think it is importnant but it may be for him. it used to infuriate me when people said that to me when i was in VCE. they may be your views but VCE/results are an individual thing. that podcast was pure poetry. what a man! btw ive never seen a thread explode like this before. amazing!
  6. normally benches are cut and dry (at least in our case recently) ... not the case this time. you could make a case for all of them. jamar may not be ready. petterd and maric going for the same spot. jones should be a certainty, as should bennell. for me: petterd, jones, bennell and bartram/jamar depending on how important they view the tagging vs 2nd ruckman role. our depth is slowly improving. i know we're 16th at 1-7 but things are improving slowly but surely.
  7. I hate dream team talk but .... get on grimes. value hasn't changed and will play every game as long as he is fit. Back on topic, but this kid has a head on his shoulders the right attitude and room for improvement. thats a pretty bloody good combinations. arguably excites me more than anyone else on our list. time will tell i spose.
  8. Thanks for that Cam, it is fantastic to read. You and your team and doing great things with the MFC. we're all proud as hell. Keep up the good work!
  9. when/if we win our next game ... our best out of grimes/bennell/maric will win the award that week.
  10. what is wrong with frawley??? will he come back?
  11. FFS, everyweek someone says this and it infuriating. If you are named on the ground you cant be dropped from the team. Only those on the extended bench can be omitted without a fine being incurred. Someone should sticky this. It happens every damn sunday game and since we play every damn sunday it happens every week. FWIW 45 i'm just as excited as you to potentially seem grimes there.
  12. welcome back Y_M! you can never keep a good serial pain in the ass down.
  13. you'd have thought so ... but how about this ... http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/04...m?section=sport in particular i really like this: "Melbourne like to get a lot of numbers behind the footy and push into defence which changes the game plan and the way we play a fair bit, if you look at the score," he said. "So that probably puts it down to how it was scrappy on the weekend and probably not the ideal spectacle what we're we're used to seeing" this almost made me vomit my breakfast when i saw this on fox sports news this morning. adelaide play an entertaining game normally??? where/when??? our fault? we play with numbers behind the ball??? where/when??? if anything we are trying to develop a back 6 that plays one on one accountable football that can stand on its own. pretty feeble excuse from the AFC if you ask me given the abhorrent way they seem to be playing football...
  14. He is Nine-Friggen-Teen FFS playing a crap team with NO ONE to kick to. what do you want him to do? bomb it down to key defenders who are all over our overawed and out of position forwards?
  15. "To say that he [the umpire] might come back in a perfectly straight line is requiring too much of the umpires,” Gleeson said. This is categorically the stupidest thing ive ever read. what are the players supposed to do? what is a defender supposed to do. if the umpire marks his line then deviates off it how the hell is that the players fault?? Dying seconds ... "better watch the umpre rather than my opponent". forward roves an easy goal. game decided. fans mortified - this is far more plausible. there are 3 umpires afterall to make the free kick call.
  16. jaded, it makes it impossible to follow. there are 100 different conversations going on and nothing of substance (and if there is there is not a hope of finding it). i have no idea what the solution is, but 9 threads into 1 doesn't work. i know that if i see a thread with even 100+ posts i dont read it because by the end it is drivel.
  17. good post. agree on all accounts. but we cant go into a game with spencer and meesen this year can we? likewise we cant do meesen and jamar ...
  18. we actually lost all momentum when pj went into the ruck. meesen was critical. he was essential in instigating the 8 goal 2nd quarter but pj behind the ball really works. he is much better around the ground.
  19. best "ruckman". horrid disposal. also could work harder. but seems to have found something. if we could combine PJ's follower skills with meesen's rucking ... they could be awesome
  20. 6 - Aaron Davey 5 - Brad Miller 4 - Stefan Martin 3 - Colin Sylvia 2 - Brock Mclean 1 - James Frawley stiff: jones. jetta, bennell, rivers, moloney and dunn
  21. good god this guy almost excites me more than anyone else on our list. size. speed. agility. brave. knows his game. lets not get ahead of ourselves. but for robbo they all have the potential to make us a better side
  22. really happy with him. just wish he would he wouldnt have a brain fades like the shoddy handpass to a guy under pressure! but this seems to be happening less than before
  23. i dont want to die wondering. challenge him to take on brad green's role whilst he is out. that is one of the reasons he played up field ... because we had a key midfielder missing
  24. my bad. good pick up. cheers.
  25. if any moron ever says that brad green is not tough they should be shot. compare him with riewoldt (if it wasn't him i apologise but it was one of their young key forwards) on the members wing in the 3rd quarter. massive shirk. rivers gave it to him big time brad has transformed himself from the double fist pumping skinny 18 y.o. that won us a QF into a tough courageous leader of our club. never should his committment be questioned.
