Lever and May are killing it. Great to see TMac playing well. So much for Harmes huge preseason. He has been jogging anytime he has to chase. Our mids are still getting sucked in and Freo are getting it on the outside

They might be a message but no CEO would get them in if they were going to make the group dysfunctional. They were brought in to give the team the tools they need. If it then goes pear shaped, well fair enough. But it would make no sense to bring them in to mess up the coaches group or else they might as well have sacked Goodwin last year

Fair enough that we haven't done anything for 2 years, but how the hell could they say out coaching group is dysfunctional when we haven't even played a game yet?!

Great to see Junior back to present JJ with his jumper.

The ABC is reporting on a coterie group holding its season launch at the male-only Australia Club. "The event, promoted on the group's social media page, is being held on March 9, the day after International Women's Day. Featured guests on the night will include Melbourne Football Club president Glen Bartlett and former AFL players Gary Pert, Mark Williams, Adem Yze, Alan Richardson and Garry Lyon." They've also highlighted the recent change to Bartlett's title, which is seemingly at odds with the choice of venue. "The Australian Club, established in 1878, excludes women from membership, but has in recent years allowed female guests to visit. Last month, Fox Sports reported Glen Bartlett's title at Melbourne Football Club had been changed from chairman to president following feedback from female members." Thoughts? Is it all much ado about nothing, or does it send the wrong signal? https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2021-03-05/melbourne-football-club-fans-to-host-event-at-male-only-club/13221318

I hope not. I truly want to like and support the Tassie team, but won't be able to if it's just the Dawks re-branded.

The five players you want to have an impact in 2021
Mickey replied to Krackered's topic in Melbourne Demons
Weid Gus Fritta Whoever plays on the opposite wing to Langdon Lever If those five get going, along with the usual suspects in Gawn, Tracc, Clarry and May, watch out. -
God forbid he is the one kicking inside 50...

Andre the giant second from the right

All of the draftees look like they have a bit of muscle definition. Little bit more strength and they'll be good to go, physically

Cats obviously thought we'd take Holmes

Can someone explain why, if a club like Essendon really rate an NGA player they wouldn't bid at 7 rather than 9? Surely that gives them a better chance of actually getting them, and if not their preferred players are still there and the matching club has to pay more. Why bid at the end of your run of picks?

Barlow plays at Werribee under Williams.

Steven May has commented on the first of Ralph's posts, asking for Michael Barlow's thoughts.

I think Burgo is Performance manager, not strength and conditioning. For memory, this role was filled by someone who left earlier in the year (Alex Sakadjian?)

The issue will be finding a club willing to swap. Most clubs with high picks and Academy players will try to take an extra player with their early pick, then match the bid

But will a Tassie AFL team fix that? Are they so sure having an AFL team will fix the huge issues with grass roots footy in Tassie? Maybe it will. But there is so much work that needs to be done to support local footy first.

The AFL do. I agree with you. I'd love a Tassie team, and I signed the petition saying so. It'd automatically become my second team, in a way the other expansion teams never could. But the AFL is first a foremost a business. They care about growing the game into areas it isn't entrenched at the moment, and couldn't care less whether Tassie deserves a team or not.
