  1. Maybe we could get LJ to grow back his top knot. I reckon he'd be even more of a cult figure.
  2. With the Suns on the scene all earlier designs put up on this post that are predominently red will have to be scratched. Also, I reckon designs that have a red/blue V on a white background are too similar to the Bulldogs away strip. We could do worse than stick with the current design IMO.

  4. I'm surprised this hasn't been put up:
  5. It would be great if the club could get the rights to the round-by-round highlights that is screened at the B&F and publish those somewhere (the club site or youtube).
  6. I spoke to John a couple of weeks back. He's doing uni part time and looking to get into payer management down the track. He's leg is 'stuffed' and he won't play footy again.

  8. For a start I think there's a waiting list for Tridents m/ship that guarantees a GF ticket. If you do have such m/ship and the Dees make the GF you queue the day before tickets are released to other Dees members. The seating areas for each club are determined by the AFL/Ticketmaster, but there's usually a reasonable spread although club members are usually positioned behind opposite goals.
  9. I let my Redlegs membership lapse for a standard membership in 2000. Never again. I pay $452 (cf Pies $795) and for that I'm guaranteed a GF ticket. Great value. What annoyed me in 2000 was that I had to buy a seat for the GF when I only wanted a standing room ticket. I contacted the MFC to say I had 6 seats together (incl. my mates) and I was happy to swap them for standing room. Understandably the Club was too busy to deal with it. We had shouse seats at the Ponsford end with nowhere to stand. It's madness that you can't buy a standing room ticket until all seats are sold. Sitting behind us at the GF were about 20 Adelaide people who had no interest in the footy who had bought a package through Jetset Travel. I assume the Crows had simply sold their 1000 or so allocation to Jetset. My understanding of premium memberships is that they can only be certain percentage of a club's membership.
  10. There's quite a large group of Hawthorn supporters who gather in the M10 standing area. They have huge number of 'soccer-style' or Barmy Army chants that they blare out virtually non-stop. They are not funny, amusing, or witty. Just plain stupid. It's amusing to watch some of the ringleaders as they spend the greater part of the afternoon with their back to the match 'conducting' their mates.
  11. The video clip is sensational - extremely well put together - comprehensive without being over the top or having 'ra ra' touch.

I was surprised no-one has commented on Dean's change of tactics, specifically the kick to handball ratio yesterday. I recall some criticism of him for having no plan B. I also think his move to coaching from the bench is a good idea. I reckon it's far clearer and easier to get a message through to a player if you can use 'visual' as well as 'auditory' means.
  13. Bruce is generally regarded as the worst kick in our side. Why he was allowed to kick out is a mystery, and Bailey needs to make it clear that he should never again take a kick-in.
  14. Jeff played with Redland Bombers (with brother Rick) last year but I don't believe he is playing this year. I think he has a position of Ruck Coach with the Gold Coast (GC17) side.
  15. McLean to confront Demons Keep moving folks. Nothing to see here.
  16. Screaming Jettas 'But the boys, and the family back in WA, have their eyes on Round 17, when Melbourne will play Sydney at the MCG in a game that could pit Neville and Lewis against each other for the first time at AFL level.'

It's a smart move to have a run on the ground on Friday. I've lived in the region for over 30 years and know a bit about the ground. Even with the new stands the eastern or Moorabool side of the ground is very hard to score from. The Cats continually attack from the western side, and constantly 'over-defend' that side when the opposition is kicking in.

Myself and four mates arriving midnight Friday. Is there a pub within walking distance of TIO?
  21. Apologies if it's already been mentioned. I couldn't see a thread to that effect.
  22. In today's papers: The HUN Watts must perform, says Bailey The Age: A tale of two teens From the latter: His game is punctuated with exhilarating moments that will make every highlight reel, along with periods of inactivity and minimal output. In 17 games he is averaging just over three kicks, one mark and eight handballs a game. Listening the his game against the Swans (in Sydney) 3 weeks ago, he (NicNat) got his first possession midway through the third quarter.
  23. And a win would see us balance the ledger 4-4. I too know sweet FA about economics, but I believe the above to be 'responsible'.
  24. Enjoy your grain of salt BLWNBA! Dees sign James Frawley to four-year deal
  25. Given that we're playing Saturday, I can't see the relevance of Sunday's forecast (altho' Sat. predicted to be the same.
