  1. Even if Clarry’s not ready please get Harmes out of our side. I suggest we may see the Grundy forward experiment. In Oliver Grundy Out Harmes Petty
  2. 6 Petracca 5. Pickett 4. Nibbler 3. Brayshaw 2. Viney 1. Hunter
  3. Did Tom Sparrows poorly executed kick to the leading Petty just massively impact our premiership chances? That ankle did not look good.
  4. Salem just throws it on his boot. Lever outbodied by someone half his size. It’s going to be one of those days.
  5. I would be angry if I was actually surprised. Too easily get ahead of themselves and/or cant handle expectation.
  6. Did not come out with any pressure against a lower ranked side. May and Lever make amateur errors early to give the Roos a sniff. Players unable to execute a kick forward of centre.
  7. One of the greatest players and showman the game has ever seen. How he could be that good at his size/role and not be a decent contested mark is insane.
  8. The thing I loved most yesterday which maybe was more noticeable due to my sitting behind the goals with the Demon Army. How great it was to see two key forwards working in continual motion offering multiple leads not just pointing for it to be put on their heads.
  9. 6 Petty 5 Gawn 4 Viney 3 Langdon 2 Melksham 1 Petracca
  10. Acknowledged. Most of the others are smaller. Random not extensive sample below. MCG 171m x 146m Coburg 165m x 140m Sandringham 160m x 120m Punt Road 159m x 124m Williamstown 165m x 135m Preston 169m x 127m Footscray 161m x 123m
  11. Dunstan masses stats on smaller VFL ground that I suggest have more stoppages and less open transitional play. He is AFL standard around the stoppage offensively and defensively. Unfortunately away from the stoppage he lacks the transitional movement to defend and when he gets ball in open play lacks effectiveness by foot. Harmes has him well covered generally but most importantly can fill multiple roles. Dunstan is purely a first dibs inside mid with no further flex.
  12. The last game Petty was tried properly forward against Hawthorn when get got injured. 2 goals, 6 marks (2 contested) in 33% game time. With Tomlinson form and the lack of form from Brown surely people get this is worth another look?
  13. I would go Petty forward with Woewodin, Hibberd and McVee. I would give Sparrows midfield time to RIvers alllowing both Hibbo and Judd to play back 7. In saying this I reckon it will be Petty, Harmes, Hibberd, Woewodin with Smith again as Sub and McVee taking a well earnest rest.
  14. 6. Brayshaw 5. Viney 4. Chandler 3. Gawn 2. Pickett 1. Rivers
  15. Cant possibly see us being able to afford even close to what others would pay and would only make sense if we are set on moving Petty. He will be at the Bombers or the Swans is my opinion (no source).
  16. Need to consider JVR, McVee and Woewodin have developed to the point of being in the 22 of a top 4 side at the minute. Howes, Laurie and Disco Turner who are all are consistently impacting at VFL not playing makes the cupboard look barer as well.
  17. This is what I have been considering more and more. If WC truly want Curtin they may need to bite the bullet at 1 otherwise high risk he is not there at 4 and beyond. North have loaded on mids in Wardlaw, Powell, Phillips with early picks as well as Sheezel. They have LDU and Simpkin in their prime. They are about to lose McKay and other than Larkey have no other quality young talls. Hawthorn have a young deep midfield brigade but have no real quality keys aside Lewis forward and the undersize Sicily. Good chance either of them take Curtin.
  18. Rivers has played a few rotations in the middle but to my knowledge has never lined up on a wing. If Hibberd plays this week who is your back 7 or are we changing our structure to a back 8. To be clear my preference would be stick with the back 7 and manage Hibbo as next up if required. However I would not want to see Bowey out of the 22 and would prefer a creative solution if that becomes a potential possibility in a role that would be available on recent form of Spargo and. Chandler.
  19. You need to consider we have had many weeks with no Salem or Hibberd injured/managed and no Oliver meaning Brayshaw into the pivot meaning he has generally had a spot in the back 7 most weeks. McVee and Rivers sustained impact and Bowey’s recent return to form means something has to give if they want Hibbo into the run for finals. Bowey is too good to be at VFL so considering his skill set may fill the gap left by Spargos current and Chandlers recent form it seems a alternative we should consider over omission even if not tried before now.
  20. I disagree. He dominated the weekend playing high half forward. Has played midfield in some of the other games.
  21. Either/or of McKercher or Duursma for me with our Freo Pick. Both are highlighly rated and in my view fit positional (half forwards that will develop to senior mids) and attributes (speed and polish) that we need.
  22. Small Herald sun write up on Grundy in the VFL scratch match also states “Chandler starred”. He was quality the prior week at VFL as well and I think he offers a more rounded role in our forward set up than Spargo.
  23. Tomlinson for Petty Chandler for Spargo If they want Hibberd in and are willing to spin the magnets more, Bowey forward (for Spargo) or Rivers midfield (for Jordon). Smith again as sub.
  24. 6. Gawn 5. Trac 4. Melksham 3. Viney 2. McVee 1. Hunter
  25. Thanks I forgot to consider they need the points moreso than shifting into next year. Either way I am on board with us doing what we need to load into the top end of this years draft. I would also prefer us to have two shots in top 10 plus Brown later as father son than sell the farm to put all our eggs in the Harley Reid basket.
