  1. Petty looked like a guy coming off a serious injury and limited preseason regaining confidence in both his ability to launch at marks and get to more contests. Great to see unlike a lot on here the coaches persevered as it was only a matter of time the dukes were back to clunking them.
  2. 6. Lever 5. May 4. Oliver 3. Gawn 2. Windsor 1. Fritsch
  3. My icon might indicate otherwise but my favourite MFC player by the length of the straight. The trade to get him was more important to our flag and sustained top end finishes than any other including the Roos appointment or any other list move (yes including our sublime midfield bulls). A super competitor who reads the ball in flight as good as any. So consistent in his performance regardless of the type of opponent he’s on and such a hard, tough ball player which was so not MFC at that time of his selection. Defence wins matches and premierships and he’s 100 games the cornerstone of ours (the best defence in the land across 4 years) Hopefully many more to come.
  4. Geelong have beaten the teams currrently positioned 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th.
  5. No change. McAdam needs a full run and when he comes in it wont be for Billing’s who is rotating the wing spot as well as half forward. Petty’s form will turn and they will persevere with him at AFL level at least another week likely more whilst we win (no matter how) and kick scores.
  6. 6. Lever 5. Gawn 4. Turner 3. Pickett 2. Langdon 1. Rivers
  7. That is the most lifeless, leaderless, selfish half of footy I can recall by us. There is a lack of run, effort, dare. Some of the worst kicking execution and decision making I can recall. Where is this alleged "brand that our supporters can be proud of". Pull your finger out Dees.
  8. Absolutely. He is a jet beaten down by being in a poor constantly developing side.. Unless there is an A grade key position forward we can pry out (which I cant see) we need to improve our midfield quality and speed and he has it in spades and fits our age profile.
  9. Average player with good speed who plays a role. Are you playing him ahead of Koz, Chandler or Nibbler?
  10. Agree. He has some speed about him and decent ground ball skills for a tall as well. I would give it a go.
  11. Interesting that Turner went forward and looked excellent until he then went behind the ball once we had the lead. He is too good for VFL, even after a stint off, is this the attempt to find him an AFL spot as the third tall forward if/when Brown wains? A good comeback against mature bodies on a skinny ground. There is something to work with, with Verrall, Pup and possibly Sestan.
  12. On Billing’s whilst his three misses were frustrating they could easily have him with 3 goals to go with his 14 possessions. The reason I think he should be ommitted is the amount of missed tackles he had.
  13. Out Koz, Billings In: Kolt, Laurie Woey in 22, Laurie as sub. NB: Would not surprise me if Fullerton/Schache plays for a managed Brown to give him a 2 week rest..
  14. 6. Petracca 5. Gawn 4. May 3. McVee 2. Sparrow 1. Windsor
  15. Congrats to Western Builldog’s Harvey Gallagher for his 2 goal/16 possession nomination in his sides 76 point drubbing of West Coast. At least the AFL is predictable.
  16. I am certain Saunders will get 25 touches against the Eagles today and get nominated over Windsor's low possession high impact game in a finals like atmosphere. Its just the AFL way. Early days but there is nothing I have seen from any of those taken ahead of Windsor, Reid included that would have me consider a trade for the whippet we have running the wing. Just has AFL elite attributes that you cant teach or develop and a body to build on that will just make him better.
  17. 6. Alex Neal-Bullen 5. Gawn 4. Oliver 3. Langdon 2. Viney 1. Rivers Apologies to quite a few more.
  18. Does anyone really think Tomlinson, Laurie and Fullerton will play? Surely the emergencies will be rested and in Adelaide in case required.
  19. I would not be surprised if he plays the 2nd SA game on the short turn around.
  20. Petty back for May and Fullerton forward to maintain the 3 tall structure. Hore in for Lever and include a runner as sub (granted Casey cupboard feels a bit bare). Changed my mind on this. Tomlinson in for May. Petty stays forward.
  21. 6. Trac - as complete a performance as any bar 2021 GF 5. Fritsch 4. Gawn 3, ANB 2. Howes 1. Pickett
  22. I am in the risk averse camp and would not play Petty, particularly when we had a functioning forward line. In saying that now that he is named on the bench I dont see any value in him being the sub so choose to look at the other available options named on the pine. Oliver is just not one. Tmac could be being Hawthorn forwardline is not tall but think less likely than the remaining two. Both Windsor and Hore were good but neither were great (would not have either in our best 10). Windsor was subbed off validating whilst quality he may not be able to run out a game. Hore also has not played much AFL match minutes thus far. I suggest in all instances we are trying to play the longer game but I do hope it is not ahead of risking early wins.
  23. Whilst I dont mind bringing Petty in without getting much touch I do have concern with bringing him in when he has not played a full game. In saying that I anticipate both Petty and Brown will start and we will see high rotation of 2 of JVR, Petty, Brown through the forward line as well as high rest rate for Gawn with JVR chopping out more. I suggest Windsor likely sub otherwise Hore as only other likely option.
