I'd rather we pursued someone like Mitch Thorp from the Hawks anyway. Wonder how many oppportunities he'll be getting at the Hawks behind Buddy and Roughead.

Hawks have Roughead, Buddy and Boyle as key forwards, with Jarryd Morton named on the emergency for another week so surely he's the next key forward in line for selection.

Mitch Thorp and Beau Dowler are both key forwards who were top10 draft picks... hawks have a good future.

maybe we could nab one of them...though it would probably cost a top draft pick and wouldn't rly be worth that

Don't be surprised to see Dowler come in as a backman, as for Thorp I've heard he's a no hoper as a defender.

Could possibly see Roughead go back if Thorp breaks into the side, or even play 4 talls (they're all pretty mobile so that wouldn't be as much of an issue).

Haven't seen Morton but if he's like Cale could be a midfielder (as opposed to a forward)

Thorp is out of contract this year and might be looking for opportunities elsewhere, and we may just have PSD pick #1. If it's apparantly not far fetched to nab Warnock with that pick, why's it so far fetched that we could get Thorp?

Peter Street (WB) is out of contract come season end. Get him i recon

If the status quo continues we'll receive the 1st pick in the psd draft, we will also have a plethora of guys retiring so we should have a heap of room in the salary cap to splash around, so there's no reason why we can't convince someone to nominate.

We're lucky because there's several interstate clubs struggling so the go home factor may come into play, also with the Hawks and Geelong so strong there's a chance that someone on the fringe of selection may see an opportunity elsewhere.

This year will be our best chance to get someone talented, it will be very interesting to see how Bailey & co approaches the rest of the season.

If we convinced Mitch Thorp to go into the PSD that would be absolutely genius.

This kid is future superstar and would already be playing regularly at FF/CHF if it weren't for Hawthorn's rediculously amazing KPPs.

he would fit in perfectly as a future replacement for Neitz

What's the big deal about Robert Warnock. He can't even get into the Fremantle side - Warnock left out of Freo squad again

He's only 2 inches shorter than Sandilands at 206cm and you can't (especially Freo) afford to have two monoliths in the one side. Promising ruckman, we should go after him.

But not with a top 25 pick.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
