The one or two members of staff that actually remain at the club should really look at our website and change a couple of references to 2007 to the current year which is already 3 months old.

Also, please don't send any additional envelopes with no letter, just a lanyard and pen. It does not reflect well on the club.

I feel sorry for iPrimus which have their name attached to that disgrace of a pen. The information on the pull out is a joke and the spring does not let it 'fling' back into the pen.

Time to get it right guys.

If we have 20,000 members that all received another pen and lanyard, then we have spent $10K on postage plus envelopes and the actual merchandise. Maybe the club should consider waiting until all parts of the membership pack are in stock and send it with one mailout. It would save a fortune.

I agree about the wasted money.

You would think that a club that is screaming out for $ would do something about it.

It seems that the club sites are slowly being changed to the 2008 "AFL webpage" Format.

Ours seems to be one of the last to be done. Clubs like the Bulldogs and Adelaide have the new format already.

there are a lot of threads going around here about this sort of thing...but those pens truly are terrible. My pen managed to break in 5 different ways within the first few hours of recieving it

The pen's probably worth about $0.80c.

How's the rest of your life holding up?

I can see the point being made.. people can make light of the idea its only a cheap pen.. But if so why send the bloody thing.. Also why waste money if we're supposed to be strapped?.

There's an old adage...look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves.

we waste 10 grand here.. 10 grand there 15 over there etc..

This money could be going to something that actually has merit instead of down the gurgler.

So Rhino..as it doesnt bother you.. I can count on a check to the club to cover all the wastgae ?? B)

Not enough threads here already for you to have a whinge in?

It's a valid point that Shmekel makes. It is little things like this that make the Melbourne Football Club inferior to those "powerhouses". The sooner the club, and more specifically the supporters, wake up to this - the better.

Looks like the Shmekle was heard (not the first time the smekle is listened to...)

By the way, for those that thought my comment regarding the pen was saying that I wanted a better pen, I think you misunderstood me. I would like the club to either produce quality for our supporters (both on and off the field) rather than the rubbish that is currently being sent to members. Let's hope our new CEO ensures that all departments are producing the best quality for the greatest club in the land.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
