  1. My feeling is that he has signed a HOA. That is where the 98% surety for Ox comes in. I also believe that he now wants out of the HOA and wants to stay. Melbourne are playing him because the compensation will be guided by where he finished in our B&F. Reckon it's a 50-50 call ATM.
  2. I can't believe he was born in April 1994. My first semester at Uni. Geez I am starting to feel old. Wonder who we beat in July 1993 to get Todd up?? Perhaps it was Round 17 Sat 24 Jul-Melbourne 110 Defeated Western Bulldogs 97 T. Viney 32 possessions.
  3. Tonight on Open Mike (after On the Couch) is a Mike Sheehan interview with Robbie. IQ it now guys.
  4. I know there are a number of posts discussing Scully and Morton. I am not intending a forum discussion here to analyse whether either of them will leave. Rather this is a discussion about the possibility of a team that has languished at the bottom of the ladder for 4 years having pick #1 and pick #4 leaving the club within 2 and 4 years respectively. Is this what the AFL envisaged when they set up the draft, then compensation, then two new teams? I would argue that the AFL should do everything in their power to avoid this situation as it goes against all intentions of the draft.
  5. Correct. No idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do know however that your spelling needs work.
  6. I spoke to two people who believe they are in the "know" about Scully over the weekend. One has close ties to the club and he believe Scully has signed a letter of intent with GWS - much like it is rumoured the 8 GC players did. The other person I spoke to is an assistant coach at another club. He has close ties with SOS (who is a recruiting manager at GWS), he said that SOS told him they have not spoken to Scully and he will 100% be at Melbourne next year. My personal view has gone from about a 10% stay 90% go at the beginning of the year to a genuine 50%-50%. Thats all I can report. Go Dees.
  7. Cam Schwab, via Ustream, just mentioned that the new "must see" Demons ad will be on melbournefc.com.au by 5:30pm tonight. Heard it is fantastic!
  8. I wonder if Owen Zinko can be on hand to present Jamie with his upgraded number? Maybe we should start a campaign (someone can tweet Cam Schwab) to get #getowentopresentJamietheseven. Surely its better than the #gettheashestotheashes
  9. Listen to the interview with Joel Hocking on the MFC website. May have let slip one of the new numbers in the very last thing he says.
  10. Import the Dees fixture (or whole fixture) into your calendar (incl. iCal) using this awesome link - http://bit.ly/9cRJxk
  11. Looks like the Shmekle was heard (not the first time the smekle is listened to...) http://www.melbournefc.com.au/Default.aspx...mp;newsId=56361 By the way, for those that thought my comment regarding the pen was saying that I wanted a better pen, I think you misunderstood me. I would like the club to either produce quality for our supporters (both on and off the field) rather than the rubbish that is currently being sent to members. Let's hope our new CEO ensures that all departments are producing the best quality for the greatest club in the land.
  12. Just wanted to know your thoughts... personally I like the Melbourne FC
  13. The one or two members of staff that actually remain at the club should really look at our website and change a couple of references to 2007 to the current year which is already 3 months old. Also, please don't send any additional envelopes with no letter, just a lanyard and pen. It does not reflect well on the club. I feel sorry for iPrimus which have their name attached to that disgrace of a pen. The information on the pull out is a joke and the spring does not let it 'fling' back into the pen. Time to get it right guys. If we have 20,000 members that all received another pen and lanyard, then we have spent $10K on postage plus envelopes and the actual merchandise. Maybe the club should consider waiting until all parts of the membership pack are in stock and send it with one mailout. It would save a fortune.
  14. I believe that the most important thing for the Melbourne FC to survive is to mend the relationship with the MCC. We need every Melbourne supporter with MCC membership to join the club. In addition to this, the club needs to make some sound non football investments to ensure the club has a non-football based income going forward. Why not think a bit outside the square and appoint a CEO for football based activities and a CFO in-charge of non-football based investments. The club could then target someone with experience within the football industry in the role of CEO and a investment wiz in the CFO position. I believe the prime target for CEO role should be none other than Stephen Gough. The man in charge of the MCC and the person who has the most intimate knowledge and understanding of the MCC workings and how to best exploit the financial benefits of playing home games at the MCG. Anyone agree??
  15. Glen Molloy... Frank Rugolo... Brett Bailey (after his 87 Panasonic Cup goal)... Peter Giles (after handballing to Bailey)... Alan Jarott... All cult heroes
  16. It is refreshing to wake up and read articles in both of the local rags that the Dee's are serious about winning the flag. In the last 25 years I cannot remember this ever happening. Robertson's comments in the Herald Sun of "I will be absolutely devastated if we don't make the Grand Final this year because we've just given it absolutely everything." Maybe the players are serious this year. Maybe we can dream. It's a nice thought for the next couple of weeks until Round 1 when we will know exactly where we are at. 1987 saw the beginnings of us becoming a contender (more than half of those seasons in the finals and two GF's) Maybe 2007 will see us write the next chapter and turn 2008 into the season of seeking back-to-back!!!!
  17. Went to read the NAB and Challenge Cup squads and this is what I got "A critical error has occurred. Transaction (Process ID 87) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction." Well done Telstra BigPond. In 2007 you can't even get a website to work. What a crap company.
  18. I can't believe the MFC have cloned that rubbish website. Typically with BigPond, it doesn't function on the native Mac browser Safari and I now have to use Firefox. Fantastic! Ruined my entire surfing routine!!!!!
  19. I really would have thought more people would have an opinion on the website. I never really liked the old one, but this one is now ruining my morning and afternoon browsing. I find it so ugly. Another step backwards for BigPond!!
  20. What do people think. I reckon it looks like crap. Also, still has that stupid BigPond method of watching game replays. So Mac unfriendly. Typical of a company like Telstra BigPond. Thank god I can boot up my Mac in Windows for the occassions I need to watch something on it. Now my only concern is remaining virus free whilst booted up in Windows!! Let me know if you want me to upload my iCal Melbourne fixture for any Mac users out there.
  21. There is a poll on AFL.com.au asking where you think the Dee's might finish in 2007. At this stage: 1-4 has 15% 5-8 has 56% 9-12 has 21% 13-16 has 8% from a total votes of 3373 Let's try and get that 1-4 number up a bit higher. Pump yourselves up for 2007!!
  22. Are you talking about Sean Wight who scored it in the driving rain at the 'G. Best goal I have ever seen. Reckon it was from 40 or 50 out from the boundary line. Second best goal - Bennett taps down to Jackovich, scissor kick. GOAL! Best mark - Matthew Febey playing for the Allies, running the wrong way. Specccccial!
  23. Anyone agree that the man who bowled the first ball of the Ashes (Steve Harmison) to second slip is the splitting image of Robbo?
  24. Sufers Paradise continues to be a Mecca for footballers. Over the past week: - I saw Brad Johnson and Rowan Smith in Cavil Ave - I was on the plane (from Melb to Cool) with Cam Bruce (didn't have the balls to talk to him) - I walked past Greg Dear on the beach - I see Warrick Capper most days on the Highway and saw Jacko meeting him a couple of weeks ago - Apparently The Ox was here last week, unfortuantely I didn't have the pleasure of seeing him. And you thought Melbourne was the home of football!
  25. If you see my initial post it was about how he looked fit and it was excited for his ON FIELD performance in '07. I think you will find there were other members of this forum asking me about his girlfriend. Who I maintain looked young. Nothing wrong with that. Even a compliment to some. Anyway boys we all want to see Dunn playing some good football in '07 so that when he and his girlfriend are in the Supermarket at Surfers next year, it is not just one mad Dee's fan that spots him, but every AFL supporter knows who he is.
