News from the Best and Fairest is that Josh Mahoney will be assistant coach at Melbourne in 2008. I am not sure for how long or what line he will coach.

In addition, Dean Bailey said he put all players on notice that October 31 is officially the start of the pre-season, but all players are expected to put the work in to present on 31 October fully fit and ready. I am loving him already!

I think the Mahoney signing was announced a little while ago - I'm pretty sure I read it on here previously.

I don't even know who Josh Mahoney is.

He was a 'journeyman' AFL player picked up by Port in 2004 (from Collingwood?) as a back-up player. He ended up playing in their premiership side.

Mahoney has what it takes, and I love all these frash faces on the coaches boxes after 10 years od Daniher and co.

Mahoney, bring hardness? You mean how he used to skirt the back of packs and get the easy receive for an easy goal?

I'll reserve my judgment on his coaching ability until I see how he goes next year, but I used to hate his playing styles...
