Bailey and Connolly

Reported on SEN today.

Gardiner stated that Bailey and Connolly went out for dinner last night by themselves to discuss if it could work between them.

It was a private thing that Bailey did on his own. The club didn't have anything to do with it, they were both just really keen on having a discussion about the possibillity of Connolly being Football Operations Manager.

This is something I am really hoping will happen.

if nothing else it shows that Bailey wants 'things' to happen.. and no time like the present.. Talk about hitting the ground running

Im neither this way nor that with Connolly being footy manager.. but given the interest in him around to do this role his must have some ability.

It is very true. Gardiner was on the Morning Glory this morning on SEN.

Then Matt Thompson played it again during The Good Oil on the Sports update at 2.

Guess I was just lucky to hear on the way to work. And at lunch.

I found it very very impressive.

pretty pumped that bailey is showing this sort of initiative...hope it comes to something, but even if not at least we know he is keen and ready to hit it hard at first.

just listened to an interview on sport 927 with gardiner... it was meant to be about connolly's appointment, but covered more about the process that saw bailey appointed... mentioned he showed a number of video clips of melbourne players, where he analysed them... for example how many steps some of our midfielders took when they had the ball, how many steps midfielders should take when they're in posession, and how to fix it...

just an example of his approach as a coach, sounds very impressive...
