Just like to correct you on the game Jack. I was watching it on TV and there was an almighty roar from the crowd when people listening on their trannies spread the word that Hawthorn had beaten Geelong. We were in front at that stage and it was then just a matter of staying there which we did. Ironically, it was the Hawks who got us into the finals but sadly, it was them who kicked us out in the prelim. Regards mate.

The energy and emotion that carried over and drove the side to thrash North ...... is something I have never experienced before or since.

The creme de la creme was the standing ovation Robert Flower received when Northey took him off for a rest with 5 minutes to go in the final quater of the elim final against North. Sheedy and Hird - you ain't seen nothing.

As you would know RR, the mighty Russell Richards came on in his place, immediately going for run with the ball through the centre.

As I remember it, Robbie Flower had had a quiet first half and was not in form. In the third quarter he took risks and ran the lines resulting in melbourne's win. reminded me of a similar effort by dermot in '91 v west coast when dermot had not been in good form.

Not quite right.

The roar you heard was when the hawks hit the lead with 5 minutes to go.

Our game finished first and the crowd waited in dead silence to hear the final siren at Kardinia Park.

Pandemonium followed.

People forget often that the game always looked like being lost up to half time, until the great Robert Flower single-handedly put us back into the game with 2 3rd quarter goals on the Bulldogs members flank.

I am actually with Bobby on this one. I recall the Hawks- Geelong game finishing first. Hawks hit the front just before the siren. When it went at KP, the crowd at Western Oval went berserk players stopped and thought it was their game over. A special day.

You were quite right though about Flower. Played with a broken finger and brought us back into the game.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
