Is anyone excited about all the changes that are going to transpire at our club in the coming months? I am, i mean i was originally sad, but after the initial grieving process when i found out about neile daniher and after the first 9 games i found that i am really excited and looking forward to what is going to happen at our club. Its great. The demons are finally moving forward. So if your positive about the whole situation then post your positive thoughts here!

I also wish to extend some of my positive vibes towards the club and players and am truly excited and will wait in anticipation about what 2008 holds for the MFC

Alot to look forward to!

Go dee's!

well yes, but only because it is the only thing that we would have done this year. It's about time that there was signs of life from any part of the MFC, on-field or off.

I'm excited that I don't have to worry about finding the cash to pay for finals tickets

No wonder us Melbourne supporters can afford to drive luxury cars and take frequent vacations in the snow

Its hard to be excited at the moment, Im looking forward when they announce the new coach, and the national draft is on, seeing who we will pick up and later when Draft week happens seeing who the new coach sacks and who they give a life line to.

Sentence one suggests you're not one of the supporters described in sentence two :P

As much as the media paint our club to be a basket case (in particular Patrick Smith) I have to say I am pretty positive going forward.

On field we are a rabble, but we all know how quickly things can turn around, and the introduction of a new coach with a fresh set of eyes and ideas does excite me and makes me optimistic for 2008.

I am also looking forward to seeing Neita play 300 games, and hope the club celebrates the milestone

in a manner befitting the champion player that Neitz is.

im excited about Sandy's finals chances.

and so very intrigued about what the next month and a half holds for our club. It's a breath of fresh air.

im excited about the end of the season looming to end all this attack on me for putting a mfc member 2007 sticker on the back of my car!

I am excited by the prospect of a 2000 like revival.

Do not lose faith, we will be back (no one can tell me Collingwood or the Roos are better than us!).

To be honest, I am a bit reluctant to get excited just yet!

My whole life (as with most of you) I have been on the "excitement" roller coaster that is this wonderful footy club! I refuse to get excited about next year until we have been told who our coach is.... If it is Connolly then I will be so excited that I won't renew my membership and I will start going to A-League games!

McKenna gets the gig and I will be once again buzzing with excitement.....

Sheedy, Longmire, Ratten or Voss and I will be enjoying a few months of internal optimism as to what next year holds!

But seriously, with our list, excitement will always give way to embarrassment!

Make the right trades, de-list the right players, draft a young gun or 3 and we shall see what the future holds!

Please only post positive comments on this thread. NO NEGATIVITY. That means no SARCARSM. If you want to be sarcastic and negative post your own thread. Only positive dee supporters will move forward with the club, the rest can be miserble and be left behind.

Now your talking!!!!!!!

Its kind of like going into New Year......

You get a chance to put everything bad aside, set new goals and start again (even if that is not quite the complete reality) with a clean slate.

And this is pretty much where we find ourselves at this point in time.

Its our 150th year, a massive event, and with a new coach and philosophy, new facilities on the horizon (finally), possibly some new players into the fold, and hopefully a whole new attitude within the team and club, it could well be the fresh start we all so desperately need, especially after this season.

Besides we always live in hope ;) :D !!!

I get excited if I think about the 'ins and outs' for next year, assuming we continue with the policy of resting the injured (Robbo, get off the ground until you can get up off the ground!)

I've taken some latitude here, but this is a thought process, not a grant application.

I also haven't included players like Brown, Ward, Bizzell, Holland, Ferguson and Pickett in order to minimise 'But he's leaving anyway' comments. Yes, Miller is still in there. Please let that slide and stay on topic!

Currently not playing and not likely to play this year -

Rivers

Yze

Petterd

Whelan

Bartram

Currently playing obviously injured or seriously out of form

Neitz

Robertson

Mclean

Davey

Question marks on current form and/or match fitness from interrupted seasons

Carroll

Jamar

Johnstone

Miller

Moloney

Bell

Bruce

Young players with credibly anticipated imrpovement to come

Jones

Buckley

Petterd

Sylvia (still)

Newton

Dunn

Frawley

Bate

It doesn't take long to see just how dramatically this team can change.

Imagine a year with a normal injury rate. Imagine some renewal of form for a few players (I haven't even included White and Green, who I think could both do a lot better even though they aren't 'failing' at present).

Throw in a high draft pick or two and a driven, energetic coach...

I'm actually confident that next year will see competitive performances. I won't predict further, but yes, my fires still burn!

And to those who have looked up our worst season ever stats, I think it'd be fun to see if there has ever, ever been a team which didn't have a single player play the entire season. Get that record and 2007 becomes a meaningful part of history, instead of just a miserable year - anytime it comes up, the 'talking point' would be the incredible injury run, not the terrible performance!

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
