TRAINING: Tuesday 21st April 2026

Great vibe here. But itโ€™s down to business focussing on this week. Kingy said they celebrated after the match but it was serious mode now.

ย

Boys understandably update today in the brief flush run.

Absent: Salem, Viney, Melksham, McAdam, Rivers, Campbell, Petty, Kosi and AMW.

Rehabbing: Earlier than the others. AJ (moving well - reckon he is not far away - hope we see him at Casey on Saturday). Lindsay, not moving so well (our view is that he would be very unlikley for consideration this week).

Full on Gosch's this week - 11 am tomorrow and 11 am Captain's Run on Thursday.

Noted on Sunday on the way to the game - Bowey, Campbell and CJ doing some full-on match sim on Gosch's - seemed they were trying to get full ground work with a couple of trainers - including throw-ins etc. Hopefully Campbell will be available soon (although not there today).

XL working through groin pain. Probs wonโ€™t see him for a couple. Heโ€™s doing exercises designed specifically for his groin. His mood is great though.

A little Kolt story:

In the last quarter Kolt turned to us and did the hand gesture of โ€œLouder!โ€
Today I told him that we loved him revving us up. He then told me the story behind it: he and Cam Rayner were in the goal square, play was up the other end. We were chanting and Cam says to Kolt โ€œGeez theyโ€™re annoying, theyโ€™re so loud!โ€ Kolt says โ€œtheyโ€™re a cheer squad, whaddya expect?!โ€ A minute later Cam says โ€œBro, they donโ€™t [censored] shut up!โ€ So Kolt turned to us discreetly and urged us to turn it up. He said he wanted to annoy Cam even more ๐Ÿคฃ

And it worked!!! ๐Ÿฅณ

Tell him to do a Hulk Hogan hand to ear gesture sometime!

If that doesn't get on TV I don't know what will.

If Petty was absent from training it is looking very likely he will be unavailable against the Tigers. It will be interesting to see how / who they replace him with.

Petty will be in concussion protocols so he'll definitely miss Friday

We have our Everready TMac available, apparently played a ripper at Casey on Sunday, unless they want to try Kentfield back?

That's unfortunate I say CJ could get a game then.

No it's not. He's cooked.

No he didn't he was average at best the team got belted kicked a few goals at the end to put some respectability on the scoreboard. We will be smaller I'm certain of it.

From the horses mouth:

Tom McDonald
(23 disposals, 8 marks, 2 tackles)

โ€œTommy was fantastic and did everything we asked of him.

โ€œHe won his position convincingly, used the ball well and made strong decisions with it.

โ€œIt was a big tick for him in his return to VFL football.โ€

Youโ€™re entitled your opinion, you donโ€™t have Tom in your team, but the absurdly negative rhetoric youโ€™re throwing at a champion of the club, premiership player and great club and team man is getting tiresome. He may play, he may not, you want to go small against Lynch, Lefau and Ryan, risky but fair enough, thatโ€™s your opinion. Stop bashing our players. I also find youโ€™re the only person who says theyโ€™ve watched the VFL game that doesnโ€™t have TMac in the best. Everyone from the coach to AFL.com to multiple demonlanders did, maybe, just maybe, youโ€™re biased against him and not seeing things objectively.

Happy to agree to disagree on selection, not happy to read you constantly dragging our players in every thread. Ease off it please.

A question. Do we already have a player replacing McAdams? Is he in LTI list? Was thinking he should be, and promote Lamu from Casey. He looks the goods and not sure how we get him elevated.

McAdams & Lamu - never heard of them.

Not cooked by a long shot. He was nowhere near our worst against Essendon.

Won't happen for McAdam unless he breaks down again. He's only 2-3 away now. He's going to come back and be better than Charlie Cameron. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Heard it from a reliable sauce.

Sorry I'm wrong about the 2-3 weeks. He remains TBC.

Exactly. No source just sauce. Tomato. On the face.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the โ€˜G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
