PODCAST: Rd 06 vs Brisbane

Binman presents his Long Form Stats Files Preview of the upcoming match against the Brisbane Lions.

I'm still traveling and didn't have time to put together an Intro/Outro for the show so you get a raw and unfiltered Binman this week.

After the match on Sunday you can also post your questions and comments for Binman and George for the Review podcast here.

Go Demons.

To save time I’ll get in early.

Can you explain why (insert whipping boy) is still getting a game? You’d think against the reigning premier (insert player who did well at Casey) would have been a better option

not a question, I just wanna hear some glowing praise for Kade Chandler. What a match and what a season he is having.

Awesome win. So proud of the boys. Be interested to hear your take on our kick in strategy however. Seems like we tend to struggle and mainly just kick it long to the line. Petty and Tholstrup and Lever don’t even seem especially well suited to the task of taking that kick. Lions by contrast went short and seem to easily run it out.

Awesome win. The dees of old would have lost that game either by inaccurate kicking or not not being able to hold on in the dying minutes. Question is in regards to Anzac Eve. 5 day break, we simply must bring in fresh legs. Our game style is so taxing. Who comes in?

Before the game, I felt that if we could hold Brisbane to under 90 uncontested marks we might be a chance. Anything over that and we'd be beaten pretty well.

They had 129.

How were we able to let them do this and still come up with the W?

Also I thought Kade Chandler's effort/work rate was amazing but what he was able to do when the game was there to be won was seriously special.

Do you think bringing in 2nd ruck Moose plus Jeffo as another key fwd works, when we already have Roo, Checkers and Fritsch (who ended up pushed onto the wing) down there, does one need to go out for balance, neither seemed to contribute up fwd today and yet we kicked 100 points again so we still scored fine.

Second to that, Petty even before his concussion was having a mare of a day, both with decision making/execution but also being too slow to stop his direct opponent leading and marking the ball. Should we try swing Jeffo down there and see what he has got, he seems an ok mark but his set shot kicking is as bad as they come, what do we have to lose.

Gday team.

Would love to know if any of the assistant coaches may change for next year or do you think they’ll stay the same?

I feel Kingy had not much time to organise them and we have part timers.

Cheers.

Another ripper Pod guys! I loved the analysis, but more than that, I could ‘feel’ the enjoyment and excitement in your voices. Thank you!
