Bayley Fritsch Contract Talks

I'm told this is progressing nicely and we could have the announcement of a 3-year deal signed by Fritsch in the next few weeks.

Makes sense with Melky/McAdam aging out.

I'll tell you when he stupidly took that advantage & kicked it out on the full last week I was ready to ship him off.

When he kicked the sealer all was forgiven. I hope he stays because if brody can stay fit & with van rooyen coming along & throw Sharpe & both picketts down there it could be a very successful forward line

I have previously advocated thta there should be a paid position of Team Mum.

Ghostie's a shoe-in.

Paid? PAID???? I’d do it for free!

Seriously though, that’s how it feels at times. Especially with the young boys and definitely with the young interstate boys. Oftentimes at training one of them will come over to - for example - talk about how their relationship with their girlfriend is going (today it was Kalani, last week it was XL). I don’t post about this because when I did, it attracted nasty comments and accusations of lying.

Anyways yeah, Team Mum = dream job!

Ghostwriter you do a great job been the Team Mum, and supply great reports to Demonland. Please keep up the great work.

Add Butters and Zac Bailey and we'll be top 4 next year

The lid is off!

I wouldn't have him doggiesit my pooches (if I had some canine friends) but I would most definitely have him in my forward line. At least a 4 year deal, its a no brainer.

If the Dees don't want him, please send him to 400 Royal Parade 😁

I’m hearing exactly the same, but was told the announcement could be made in around three weeks.

I heard very similar but the announcement was delayed because Bayley can't sign the contract due to having been bitten by a savage dog.

Fritta’s second cousin is a diehard Blues fan and whenever a subject like this arises he sends the Frittata clan a photoshopped picture of Fritta in a Carlton jumper despite knowing how it will be received. Gotta give the guy credit for persistence 😁

LOL.

Isn't his father a Bagger?

Anyways, would be nice to see Fritter rack up 200 in the red & blue.

Gets my vote! Noting that, in that role, @Ghostwriter would bring with her a big, well qualified family of Team Aunties, too (and the odd Uncle, Pop, Gran, nephews and nieces) from The Army!

Yeah Scotty is a staunch Blues man. Understandably he supports Melbourne but his heart will always be navy blue. I’ve talked to him about my two decades masquerading as a Carlton supporter and how I’ll always have a soft spot for them. It’s pretty much the first thing we bonded over.

Fritta’s mum’s side is Collingwood through and through. His grandad doesn’t hide the fact either. 😡

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
