I find the best injury prevention is to not get out of bed.

Wooden headboards can be a problem.

I watched the whole session today and am surprised no one was talking about the form of JVR. If they have, I must have missed it. He looks lean but strong. Was moving really well. However, what stood out was his leading and ability to take grabs with both hands, one touch. This is the area of his game which needed the most improvement. I think we will see him thrive under King.

Has anyone been able to confirm why Miochek was on the bikes and doing circuit training today? I heard the officials say that CJ is close to be back in full training after the Christmas break. As noted by others, he ran laps all morning.

Simenna (spelling ?) looked like he absolutely belonged. I’d be signing him up. The biggest cheers from the playing group came for Koz who kicked a long range goal, after the kick he delivered, getting the hands and bombing one from a step inside fifty. The players celebrated that one. The other big one was for Jye Culley, who snapped a roving goal inside fifty. “F…k yeah boy” was shouted by one player. Plenty of claps and whistles.

Finally, Caleb Windsor 🍆

Interesting.. based upon my own observations and commentary such as yours and 👻 I suspect Roo may be up for a break out year. King might well have high expectations of him and he's now being shown what you actually need to do (fwd-craft) . But I also suspect its been told in no ambiguous terms its up to him.

Penny is dropping.... ill wait on games to see if it landed.

Hopefully

Haven't heard much on Kentfield. Does any know ?

Kingy loves what he’s seeing. He said as much last week. He said he loves what Luker brings. I said that folks like that Luker has ‘mongrel’ but that off-field he’s the complete opposite. Kingy said Luker has mongrel where and when it matters.

Luker himself said he never thinks about it and that’s just how he plays. At the time Leb and Chin were there and they were both quick to agree that yes, Luker most definitely has an element of ‘aggro.’

So Ghosty, what does Kingy think of Jeffo and Moose!??

Is it true you won't get out of bed for less than three hugs at training? 🙂

Sorry PF but I never ask Kingy about any player. He and I were talking and Luker just happened to walk in our line of sight and I told him about when I first met Luker after he’d come to the club under unusual circumstances. Kingy was interested to hear about it, then he gave me his thoughts.

I see, so Jeffo and Moose need to walk past at the exact moment you and Kingy are in conversation? sounds reasonable!

So she should chase after someone busy trying to run and observe training and dozens of players? If anyone needs to be absorbed with every detail at training it's the coach. I'm guessing Ghosty managed to approach King in a quiet moment and have an idle chat and grab some juicy info. But can she chase him around for weeks comparing notes on the other 40 something players? Accumulatively that'd take hours, yes?

He’s being rotated heavily on and off. Saw him involved in one very nice piece of play. Seems to be moving fine.

So this was actually Bonner?

In the end, match sims are still dancing with your daughter you want to impress, but you don’t want to hurt her, but I will ask, have the ball skills by hand and foot improved.

Sometimes I chat with Kingy after training. It’s no biggie. I certainly don’t chase anyone around. I wouldn’t last five minutes if I did that, it wouldn’t be tolerated. I wouldn’t do it anyways.

In a sense yeah, dancing with your daughter, but some of the tackles I have seen have been bone crunching. With some big heads leaving there are more spots up for grabs so why not take out a competitor for your spot.

chalk me down as another who is looking at the 'rehab' group and seeing reasons to be concerned

the general rule of thumb is that in order to prepare for a good season you need to have fully completed 80% of all pre-season sessions

we look set to go into 2026 with a lot of players who won't come close to that mark

When you are not contending this tends to happen.

Did he get dropped off on the porch or something?

I mentioned this earlier in the thread: the sustained and unrelenting high level of intensity of every training session since day one means that some players, in particular the older players, will pull up sore. It’s to be expected. Checkers is one such player.

The trainers and our head physio explained it that way.

Yesterday Vines confirmed it. He was also on that bikes/circuit training program. He said whereas his reason for being on this program is injury management, the others are doing it for injury prevention.

Thanks Ghosty. It was a gruelling session, makes sense that some of the older heads were on light duties.

I also overheard Richo say that CJ should be back to full training after Christmas. He was looking fit whilst running laps. Any word or insight you have on where he is at?

Pretty much. Except you misspelled Porz.

Definitely the hardest session I’ve seen so far. I was knackered just watching it 😅

CJ is confident he’ll be in full training in the new year. He said he feels great and already feels like he’s ready. He’s raring to go.

PS don’t be a stranger next time : )
