I wonder when Viney might move from TBC. Really starting to wonder if retirement is closer than a return…

On Paddy Cross, his work competing in the air was amazing, reminds me of Melky.

And on the ground SPC, he set up Chin for his goal in the square in the third quarter

And this one does?

Incidentally, people aren’t deliberately quoting posts three times in one post. When it was just Pickett Fence doing it we all thought yeah that’s soooo PF but it’s happening to several posts/posters; clearly it’s unintentional.

Just trying to help

Tomorrow’s injury report should be of interest with some questions arising from the last week or two:-

• Daniel Turner’s hand injury. How close is he to a return given his importance as an emerging defender in the team?;

• Changkuoth Jiath was injured during yesterday’s game. Reports say it was a calf injury which makes him a likely out for Sunday vs Gold Coast;

• Jake Melksham was clearly hampered by what appeared to be an injury to his right knee in the VFL game vs Footscray last week. He wasn’t included on the club’s official injury list but his status remains a mystery;

• Trent Rivers was omitted from yesterday’s game with the coach referring to an issue he was dealing with - another mystery;

• Paddy Cross - reported on Facebook* that he’s had surgery for hand injury that will put him out for possibly a few weeks.

* ALL ABOARD THE DEE TRAIN (Barb Kearsley)

I think Ghosty got the latest at today's session on all but Melky. Straight from the horse's mouth (apologies to J.Longmire).

Kentfield available and Turner a test. Great news!

Jeffo and Johnson also available but wouldn’t have thought they would be a consideration for the Senior team.

Injury List: Round 4

Matthew Jefferson — foot / available

Aidan Johnson — knee / available

Luker Kentfield  — knee / available

Daniel Turner — hand / Test

Kalani White — glandular fever / 1 week

Shane McAdam — Achilles / 2-3 weeks

Changkuoth Jiath — calf / 3-4 weeks

Patrick Cross — thumb / 4-5 weeks

Jake Bowey — foot / 5-7 weeks

Tom Campbell — neck / TBC

Jack Viney — Achilles / TBC

There's no way Viney will choose to retire when he's contracted until the end of 2028 on good coin. He'll take the whole year off if he needs to for recovery.

AFL story stated that Cross is out for 4-5 for his dislocated thumb surgery… bloody hell.

Not ideal for the young fella to start his career.

I was so excited about McAdam when we got him, thought'd we got a good one but just has had the worst run it's terrible, for him most of all (

Still hopefully we might see him at some point, really do hope so, wouldn't that be something if he just popped up ready to rock and actually was a player!

Will not play a senior game in 2026 and will be delisted!

Kade Chandler played one game in 2019 (against the Swans) - had just 7 disposals but made 9 tackles and broke a hand or finger.....maybe a nice parallel there.

True, but when Clarry broke his hand he couldn’t and wouldn’t lay one tackle.

Hopefully we get the Chandler version 😂

Bad news re Paddy after a promising debut.

Better news re Disco and Luker in particular.

I just hope that Casey don’t have yet another bloody bye, and that Luker gets a run. If he performs could he ba a dark horse for debut in gathering round or Bears?

Good news indeed.

If Disco was available, reckon they’d call him up before Rivers/AMW?

Kentfield in for JVR? I don’t think JVR is not performing but he’s not doing what he did R1, and maybe they look to give Kentfield a run.

Does anyone know how and when Paddy broke his thumb?

Nothing stood out in the replay.

  • REPORT: Carlton

    The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
