PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 8th December 2025

Featured Replies

While it’s not listed on the website I have it on good authority training is at Gosch’s this morning. If it’s not I’ll have company since Trent our new and awesome videographer is gonna be there or at least that’s what he told me last night at the W B&F*. Otherwise I’ll go and watch Collingwood train for S&Gs 😁

Edit: all good, the boys are out there already. I’ve arrived later than usual coz hungover 😭

Harves is rehabbing. At Friday’s training he copped a knee to his temple and he’s now on concussion protocols.

Disco - hammy awareness. He’s running really well

Bowser is having surgery on his foot this afternoon. The injury is more serious than they thought. He has a torn ligament. He was running the week before last but they didn’t know then what they now know. If he wasn’t having the surgery, he would still be able to run at some point in the future but he wouldn’t be able to change direction at speed.

Speaking of an injury worse than what was first thought, Vines is another player who is taking longer to recover. He’s had the foot issue for six weeks and he should really be right by now. I’ve been promised an update next week.

Tommy Matthews is running!!!!! It’s so good to see. He’s been champing at the bit to start running and the joy shows on his face.

Tmac a no-show because he has a family engagement to attend.

Re: Bowser... whats the ETA? hopefully its not he dreaded syndesmosis .

So Harvey, Disco, Vines and Bowey are all off crook but an 18 year old who hasn’t played a game can run again

Nothing like good news,

Like go to Mac D and getting good food

It's ok, still a bit of time until our first game and plenty of time to lock in a pre season.

Thanks Ghosty:

Absent TMac, AMW and Bowey (surgery) - see above.

Serious rehab - Viney, Henderson, McAdam, Matthews

Other rehab - Langford, Turner, Gawn, Langdon, Melksham

What's the opposite to "training the house down"?

Let's see how many of the "other rehab" group participate on Wednesday.

Another mixed bag of training - small group doing 3/4 field match sim. The remainder doing other craft drills.

Whitford (Development coach) working with the draftees and Cat B's.

Dont tell me thats the dreaded beep test they're doing out there today..

Good that they diagnosed Bowey's injury early.

It also means that he likely won't be having a career best year if he's missing some or most of pre season.

Just look at McVee as an example. Missed about 8 weeks and ended up having an atrocious year.

Did not pick up on that today, although I saw photos of Scarlett in attendance last week - he is apparently committed to one day per week.

There was a coach I did not recognise working with Whitford and the young ones.

He’s a Casey forwards coach.

Mc Adam "serious rehab" is there any chance he can get himself fit??

Does anyone know the reason Max pulled out of last Friday’s match simulation to run laps, and why he remains in rehab today?

He has “a niggle” and they’re exercising extreme caution.

I presume its Rhett Mclennan, Riley Bonnar or Dylan Roberton

According to the medics he’s tracking well, level with what’s expected.

Agree, you miss a chunk of pre season and there’s no way you get back to your best that same year

Mmmm an annoying loss this which is going to mess with an important part of his pre season now. Without Judd, an ageing Salem & AMV coming off an ACL, we’re pretty thin now regards our smalls down back.

Xavier Taylor can play small / tall & has an attacking nature as Bowey, that’s if bowser doesn’t get up in time.

They don’t expect Bowser to be up by the beginning of the season but it’s too early to tell so I guess they’re being conservative

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
