THROW HIM TO FF!

No chance.

White is a hopeless forward. Great kick, good mark, no idea where to lead.

He's better off floating across the forward line and taking marks.

It's been difficult for me to see many games this year (being in Sydney get to see Swans play on both free to air and Austar) but i've read a lot about Newton on this site. So far not impressed.

That's because he isn't playing up forward!

Was excellent last week, yet hasn't seen the goal square all night.

What has the forward line structure been? The radio isn't very informative in that regard.

Robbo and Davey key forwards, and we've taken something like 5 marks inside our forward 50.

Anyone shocked?

McLean with 29 possessions. :D

You would have been if you saw him against Carlton and Essendon...Carlton in particular.

Newton was good last week and goon in his first game, this is his 3rd and the delivery into F50 is worse than terrible, and i dont even know what position he has been played in but has not been FF and that is where he should be played.

Nice handball from Garland.

Godfrey was excellent too, punched the ball down back, and ran down to kick the goal.

Oh, and look, Newton finally in the forward line and he creates a contest from which we score.

Where has Newton been playing then? Wing? I heard that Garland was on the wing.

I saw him in the midfield, and a few forward flank cameos.

Great goal from Jonesy. What a champ!

P.S.- Pathetic umpiring tonight!

I have seen nothing in this game to make me think we are any chance of rebounding next year.

I expect to see soft, inept performances from some of those older we have on our list.

But what i really thought i would see, was the likes of Sylvia, Bate and Jones stepping up and taking their game to a new level. And with McLean, take leadership of the club.

Yeah a tall forward who made a contest, who would have thought!

Jones with a nice long goal, great work by davey, has really lifted and put his head down after a terrible start.

McLean and Jones have been very good.

McLean is the leading possession getter on the ground, which is a fair effort after 3 poor weeks.

Oh, and nice work from Bate and Sylvia to combine for the goal ;)

How good is CJ's disposal today? Doesn't get a heap of the ball, but he makes the possessions count.

Our players have lost the plot tonight.

So many undisciplined frees given away, which is unacceptable, even from a young side.

Brock- 31 touches, 13 contested possessions, 1 goal. The champ is back! :D

Chris Johnson perhaps done enough to earn a spot next round?

Why would you drop him?

Why is he always the first one in the gun?

Has done very well with his limited ground time and possession count.

No youngster deserves to get dropped while our injury list is so long. We have nothing to gain by dropping them.

The home-game experiment earnt us a lot of money, but not a lot of points. Good riddance Brisbane!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
