MFC next captain

Neita will captain next year if he wants to, and in our 150th year, so he should.

McLean, Rivers and Bate to learn off him and be ready to take over in 2009.

I'd be happy if McLean was made captain next year, but only if all parties felt ready.

This is the most common sense answer to the current captaincy question........

Neitz, should and hopefully will, be captaining the team for the what is going to be a huge 2008 season.

Beyond that there is no surprise that I also think that McLean is the most obvious and stand out candidate

But I am not totally convinced that he is quite ready yet to take over the role full time, at this point in time, or maybe even next year.

What is good to see is that there are a number of the younger players (McLean, Syliva, Jones, Rivers) who seem to have leadership qualities.

And this can only be a good thing for our future :D !!!

BBP - an inspired answer, and very funny stuff.

Sometimes I wonder what TJ - God bless him - is going to get up to once his career winds up.

Biffinator

I believe he will be undertaking a pHD in Science or IT.

But seriously how funny was it when the cameras focused on all our injured players. Bruce, Neitz and Green looked absolutley focussed on the game and smiling after an MFC goal. Meanwhile TJ looked bored out of his mind, yawning, checking his mobile for race results....funny stuff!

yep...here we go yet again....

Neeta will captain next year.

His successor will be all apparent by his attitude and play on the field next year, to some minor degree this year but am prepared to see the effect of the new coach.

As the wise ones say....all shall be revealed in the fullness of time. Dont sweat it people. The future is bright and it will happen just not overnight. Be patient.

I would have thought Brocky was a monty...but lets see if he truly rises to the job. ( i have confidence )

Neita for 1 more year. I want Neita to captain the team in our 150th year...this gives Brocky a chance to get back to where he was before his injury earlier this year.

Neita 2008

Brocky 2009

It probably is if you want t see Neita get the gig next year ;)

I suggest the coach incumbent may have a bit to say on this incubus.

If Neitz decides to play on in '08, a change in leadership should not be out of the question.

I will forward you the email if you want its full of footy quotes

I will forward you the email where the exact same quotes are tagged onto American sport stars.

Someone decided to change all the names to AFL players.

For one, when did our club find enough money to send the players to Egypt? ;)

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
