Haven't followed the draft watch this year because I didn't think we'd be upto our eyeballs in it.

Side note, there are some absolutely iconic numbers up for grabs! 4,5,9,13 wowee

Let’s hope we draft Sullivan Robey, Pickett. I suspect you’ll learn to love again when you see him play

Essendon and Richmond are all over him, doubt we’ll get the chance unfortunately. I would absolutely love him but personally hope we get Doveston and Grlj.

interested what u see in lindsay and NHH that you don't like about farrow, or is your thoughts that wright down the order could be as good and more available?

Likely taken before we get our picks:

Willem Duursma - Anywhere - Mr Versatile. Will be the best of all the Duursma's.

Sullivan Robey - Mid/Fwd - Explosive and damaging. Like Trac, but with Oliver's pre-draft rise.

Xavier Taylor - DEF/Hb - I think he might be out of reach for us, but maybe he slides. He looks to be solid lockdown defender with a turn of pace and damaging disposal.

Cooper Duff-Tytler - Ruck/KF - Absolute massive unit and moves well. Don't think we need his type.

Dyson Sharp - Mid - Great inside player and can be explosive. I do feel with Grlj and Dovaston gaining hype he may slide.

Likely selections:

Aidan Schubert - KF/Ruck - I really like his hands and set shot routine. Very good Athlete. More promise than what I saw from Jefferson.

Josh Lindsay - HB/Mid - Classy Left Foot and very composed in traffic.

Sam Grlj - Mid/Wing/HB - Speed, endurance, competitive and courage to play. Reminds me of Windsor in size and shape. I think he'd be a great fit if we think King wants more speed.

Mitch Marsh - Fwd - Great size and from what i've seen, just seems to be smarter than all of his opponents. Reminds me of Melksham a lot.

Lachy Dovaston - Fwd - His combine is going to see him shoot up the rankings. A goal sneak who brings the heat. I think he feels a hole that only Pickett fills. Would be a big target for me.

Smokey Selections:

Jacob Farrow - Mid/HB - Finds the ball and a great size. WCE should be all over him.

Oskar Taylor - HB/Wing - Now we got CJ I don't see us getting him, but another great athlete with room to grow.

Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves - Mid/Fwd - Honestly he could be the best player in the draft or a flop. He had a game were he had 30 disposals and kicked 5.

Not for me:

Oliver Greeves - Mid - Great inside player, but game seems to move past his type.

Sam Cumming - Mid - Looks like Tom Sparrow, no thanks.

WC were apparently trying to get pick 8 via some trade of picks with gc before we snagged it, assuming they are still interested I wonder if we can do a deal to move up to pick 1 or 2, by all reports the first 4-5 excluding the academy and father son picks are still quite good but it drops off after that, WC might feel 2 picks for 1 in there case is preferred even so. 7 and 8 for 2 would work better for us I think

I can see us making a play to move up.

Perhaps we can try and swap 7 and 8 for 2 and 13. Can only see them going for it if we offered something like GCs future 1st as well with perhaps their future 2nd coming back.

Robey at 2

Dovaston at 13

Go in next year with our first, West Coast's 2nd, GWSs 3rd.

That's assuming we rate Robey (or whichever draftee) significantly higher than those available at 7 and 8.

If we hold our picks I'd like Grlg and Marsh.

I truly dont understand the pessimism or obscurity offered up with all those that say ... but the picks are really..

The picks are what they are. Many of the early 'gets' were NEVER gettable.

Scrub those players and the rest is what it is.

It's the same for most clubs.

So pick 7 is still effectively pick 7 for what is pickable

Very bloody true Bubs

You didn’t correctly read his post previously. Said he would not take any WA kids to avoid heartache later.

Let's hold onto GC's future first so we can package it up with our own and have anotjrr crack at the BBQ Bear next year.
