You don’t want the 7 they get for Flanders that’s already apparently been offered.

6 and 7 sounds better if you can’t get Humphrey or another very good player as part of the deal.

We have to remember that Tracc is the highest credentialed player mentioned in trades this year. This isn’t us throwing him out, it is him wanting to leave.

With Ablett Jnr he will be their biggest player trade and they need to get it done

Hopefully Humphrey says yes to us and we will get a good deal. Him and an early pick 6 or 7 gets us another good young draftee.

We must get acceptable value.

No chance that Gold Coast will give us both Humphrey and pick 6/7

Humphrey is not Tracc, not close to him.

If picks are the central component to getting Petracca, Petracca stays. If I was Lamb I'd be telling Gold Coast if you trade Flanders you don't get Petracca. Minimum we should get is Humphrey, Flanders and Ainsworth. This draft is a waste of time. North opted out, Richmond want to trade their picks. It's a terrible draft. Don't want pick 7 unless it's to replace Ainsworth. If Flanders goes to St.Kilda and Petracca goes to Gold Coast Lamb deserves the sack.

There has to be a handful of non NGA or F/S players that will be good players at a bare minimum.

We will take one selection at the least.

I would be shocked if 40-50 players aren’t selected in the ND.

People read a lot negative into it when Tracc said "It's my job". But that could also indicate that if we can't get good deal with the Suns, he'll be back doing his "job" at MFC. (And who knows what would happen by the end of 2026.)

Of course if the club is desperate to get rid of him, we might accept crumbs. But I don't think any of us or the Suns would know if are we that desperate.

It could..

He might...

But Dr Sigmund suggests otherwise 🤔🤔🤔

Im still of the opinion that Gold Coast have asked us to chase Flanders so saints give them pick 7 for him.

That way they can give us 6 and humph for tracand round 2, and they keep their academy boys.

Watching this you wonder how pure Petracca was, and what changed him the club or himself… very sad

Just interested, what do you mean by "terrible"?

Haha thank you...that's all it is, a rant, I get emotional about this stuff because I'm passionate and this forum is wonderful for some venting and self-therapy when I need it :)

Yes this exactly!! Something must have happened that no one knows about for this guy, who apparently loved his club so much (and we all believed him) to want to go seemingly so desperately. You don't change like that for no reason.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what it was and then we'll all understand. Not that its necessarily our business (well it kind of it) but god it'd be nice to get some clarity on what has happened because it must be something pretty significant.

It's weak. Duursma and Duff-Tyler are the only real talents in the draft.

Dont think we will get Humphrey at all as part of the deal.

But I wouldnt be surprised if Alex Davies may be the player that they ask for in terms of wanting something back along with an early pick.

Tall inside midfielder who has had to bide his time due to Anderson and Rowell taking up all the midfield minutes. Everytime I have watched him at AFL level he seems to do well.

He'd get far greater midfield minutes with us instead of GC.

I reckon they will let him go. Mainly hoping but we really need to play crazy hard ball with them. Trac would seemingly be the difference for their finals tilt. A half forward flanker can be replaced

I don't think that's correct.

It's a thin draft pool, but there is talent there. the issue is if there are 40 good prospects, maybe 15 of them are tied to other clubs or clubs will get bonus picks due to compo and such

I don't think the issue is the talent pool so much as the AFL has scored a huge own goal in compromising the draft with so many academies and rules that give clubs free access to players.

the draft, especially the first round needs to be absolutely free from compromise or the bottom sides are fighting a losing battle

If we get Humphrey and pick 7 maybe Ainsworth thrown in I could handle that, but it now has to be Humphrey or no dice. I don't understand Flanders he'd walk into our midfield without Clarry and Trac, possibly be the main man. Why wouldn't he want that?

Because there’s no way we would offer him 900k

Saints needed to spend another 43% of their salary cap this year (Oct 31) so a lot of these deals will be front loaded for them.

I feel behind closed doors that gc and us have been talking about scenarios for a little longer than made out to be

That's a terrible deal. Davies is a spud. Keep Petracca if that's the best deal we can come up with.

We will take more than 1 pick but don't expect anything from them. The top 20 in last years draft would be top 3 in this years draft.

Petracca ain't staying mate.

The club want his salary off the books quick smart.

We are not giving him away for nothing like you want to do.

Some are suggesting to give up a A grader mid/fwd whilst in contract to get a no name who may come good plus picks so we can free up cap space…coupled with Oliver departure (which he should have been gone)will leave us with Viney as our only exp mid

No, i havent said that at all.

The reality is we will get an early pick. Thats a given. Whether thats pick 7 alongside pick 13 perhaps, who knows.

If the club wants players then we need to get realistic. They're not sending pick 7 and Humphrey for instance. I think its going to be incredibly hard to get Humphrey involved at all.

If it was me personally I would be asking for Will Graham with pick 7. Graham will be an up and coming star in years to come who might find it hard to squeeze in with all these academys coming through. He is a talent who would slot well into a midfield next year.

I understand your view, but if Humphrey officially declares he wants to come back to Victoria then he's a chance to be involved. It really depends on how willing he is to declare his homeward intentions. If he's wishy washy then I agree it won't happen.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
