Cherry picking at it's finest. Maybe take this in the totality of my comments, with particular reference to my comment today that I am steadfast that Petracca will not be at the club next year.

The only way we get Bailey Humphrey is if GC believe we will retain Petracca if necessary. The only way they believe that is if it's true.

Time to repeat this?

Lamb on Trade Radio 2 days ago: We have "told Christian that the likely outcome is he comes back to us".

What's YOUR personal bottom line from the Suns to do the deal and below which you'd open up the conversation with Adelaide again - just referencing "the totality of your comments"

Pick 7, Jeffrey and Ainsworth -------- Curnow

Geelong is also working on some deal for Curnow

Are you genuinely okay?

It seems every time I ask you a question referring to "the totality of your comments" that you find difficult to answer you revert to personal insults.

It's a pretty simple question. What's your bottom line from the Suns?

But you never had access to them anyway.

Crying over something out of your control is usually a waste of time. But, by all means.

What a lot of people don't realise is that without the northern academy's then these "academy picks" would likely not be draftable or very late picks . This would then result in the northern clubs picking Victorian (sa or wa) kids more often - which obviously equates to less being a available to the other clubs (us)!!!

Some may argue the these talented northern kids would be there any way, but without the development of the academies (still a poor substitute for the Vic Coates league factory) they would not be in the same class or even close.

There's no insult, you just seem incredibly triggered every time I state that Petracca won't be at the club - almost to the point of fixation. I actually find your replies often either strawman, or aren't even responding to a point of contention I've made.

Petracca + 24 for 7 and 8. Personally I'm actually not that perturbed by what we get, I think Petracca is extremely overrated, especially in his current form.

What if it was Pick 7 & Jed Walter for Petracca and 24?

Who says no?

If you're adding 24 as well, i'd like to get Rogers out of it too

Why on earth would Gold Coast break the bank to bring in both Curnow and JUH?

Jed Walter can't even get a game at the moment behind Ben King and Ethan Read, they're not going to bring in another two KPF's to further block his progress.

JUH isn't a certainty and if he was to move over, WB would be paying most of his wage

Surely, you don't believe every bit of scuttle but going around !!!

Or do you have proof?

And why so intent of insulting someone if all the facts aren't known.

Edited by Lucifers Hero

On a scale of 0 to 100, how much does the club want Trac gone? (nobody outside the inner sanctum truly knows I'd say)

The higher up the scale, the less I'm expecting in return.

rows came out and said the reason they were not pursuing was because he had asked for a top up on current wages and a few extra years

Seems like a reasonable trade to me. Both parties get a win.

Good work TL.

Now onto trading Oliver and our 2027 first rounder to GWS.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
