This certainly gave me a chuckle:

LISTEN: 'Game should be replayed!' 'Catman' blows up over Geelong GF loss, claims Neale injury was fake

AFL fan goes into meltdown over Geelong loss: 'Game should be replayed'

One of the AFL's most hardcore footy fans has taken to social media in the wake of Geelong's grand final loss to Brisbane, insisting that he's not accepting the 'disgraceful' loss.

Troy 'Catman' West has been one of the Geelong Cats' most recognisable fans for many years with his exuberant costumes and make-up. West was stunned on Saturday at the MCG as the Lions poured on 13 goals in the second half to romp to a 47-point victory.

After the siren sounded, he took to social media to make a series of bizarre claims.

'It's absolutely disgraceful,' he said.

'I am a sovereign citizen and I refuse to accept that loss in that manner. I'm a sovereign citizen and we don't play by the current rules.

'We won the qualifying final from second place on the ladder. To me, that means we have a credit, so we went in to the prelim with credit. Won the prelim, still got a credit. Get to the grand final and look what happens.

'I don't accept this and nor should any Geelong supporter. We should have that credit and that game should be replayed.

West then floated a conspiracy theory about Lions star Lachie Neale's injury.

'He did not have a proper injury or otherwise he wouldn't have been on that field today,' said West.

'It's meant to be six weeks plus. That is bullsh*t. I'm not accepting this as a sovereign citizen at all and I think we should all rise up and demand a replay so that we can collect our thoughts and win like we should be winning.

'This is not acceptable today, this is not the Geelong way. We do not ever get beaten like that. The footy gods have been evil today.

'... something evil is happening in the air and it wasn't us playing badly - that was just the worst ever. I am a sovereign citizen of this country and I don't play by the AFL grand final rules system.

'I do not accept this loss, I think it is our game to be won. I demand to use our credit like you do in a shop. End of story.'

Sovereign citizen a.k.a. not the full quid.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
